First topic message reminder :

The Life on the Line Mission Info:

The sun was high up in the sky, occasionally being covered by the clouds and causing the land below grow darker for a moment. The tall, black mountains of the mountain range didn't help in that, causing large shadows between the mighty peaks and on the land nearby. The ground was bare with only rocks, dirt and the occasional little shrub managing to force itself to grow in the harsh environment, at least protected by the wind by the nearby rocks and boulders shielding them. Mountain air never was very hot and humid, but the climate was pleasing enough and the breezy air of the higher altitudes surely would have been a welcome change of pace after a hot day. But when it came to the large canyon ripping the mountain range apart, the air was deathly still with no wind and the sunlight struggled to peek past all the sharp edges...

Varda huffed and puffed, pushing himself as hard as he could with determination sparkling in his eyes as he led the party forward. While he had pretty much flown for the rest of the journey, he had landed just because his partner could not fly himself, and the ground on the mountains could get quite tricky indeed. It was only fair for him to take a path he knew could be walked on, especially when the fall could be very... Bad. Him as a flying Pokémon had an advantage in an area like that. But Sova... He definitely did not want his friend to fall down into the depths!

Earlier that day, the Swablu had found an urgent request for a very important mission, one that would save a life. Of course he would believe a story like that and when he saw Sova in the Guild Hall nearby, he just had to explain it all and ask for help. Because it was urgent, Varda had done his best to get to the Obsidian Crevice as quickly as they could, quite fearlessly starting to descend the black-walled canyon as he hopped from one narrow ledge to another.
"Oh... Sova, are you doing well?" The bird remembered that he had a much-needed friend with him on this mission, understanding that his friend might not be able to climb down as fast as he could. He was lighter and smaller, with wings. Sova meanwhile could not risk falling...

Sova panted as he got himself back to his feet, glaring at the hydreigon.  He could avoid this thing's attacks if he was alone, he knew he could....  "Don't worry about me, Varda.  Get the monferno and get away from here.  Not up for debate.", he demanded in a very serious tone.
This thing was dangerous and he was doubting that he could beat it, but he was going to make sure to at least go down fighting and protecting others.  He would at least prove that damn absol wrong.

He bolted towards the hydreigon without even waiting for Varda's reply, the water vapor in the air around him once again freezing into ice crystals and beginning to spin around him, creating a Blizzard once more.  He sent a gust of the freezing, snowy wind flying at the dragon like a projectile attack of sorts, however it simply fired another Fire Blast from its mouth, burning through the Blizzard wind and nearly hitting the glaceon behind it.  Luckily, he had been able to move in time.

Seeing that the dragon was distracted, Arka leaped down from the ledge she was on, slamming into the hydreigon's back with her horn glowing, using Mega Horn.  The beast let out a roat before spinning rapidly in the air without using Rapid Spin, knocking the absol to the ground.  Its three maws then began to glow with fire as it slammed one of its arm-maws into the ground, causing a sort of pulse of fire on the ground.  However, the absol Detected the attack and leaped up to avoid it, once again slamming her horn into it, this time giving it a Megahorn to the face and knocking it to the ground.

At this point, Sova joined in, sending the full force of his Blizzard at it while it was on the ground and unable to avoid or counterattack.  The ice-filled winds of the blizzard swirled around the dragon as it released a pained roar.  Sova and Arka both charged it, ready to take it out with Ice Shard and Megahorn respectively as it was trapped in the blizzard.  However, as the two neared the beast, it fired three Fire Blasts from its three maws into the ground, creating a fiery explosion around it and completely burning away the Blizzard, as well as catching the two combatants attempting to attack it in a sort of eruption of fire.

The beast flapped its wings and lifted its self back into the air, even though the flapping was just for show since it could levitate.  A battered glaceon and a burned absol laid on the ground as the flames cleared, both struggling to get up.  The hydreigon decided not to allow this and immediately sent another blast of fire out of one of its hand-maws at the two.  Sova took note of the attack and rammed into the absol full force, knocking them both out of the way as the absol hadn't yet gotten her footing and wasn't able to run on her own.

The two tumbled to a stop with the absol on the ground and Sova managing to get to his paws and slide to a stop not far behind her.  As Arka struggled to pull her self up, the two both exclaimed to their self at the same time, "Get out of here!"

"What?  This is my territory, my home, I won't leave you and THIS thing to destroy it.", the absol immediately stated.

"Well I'm here on a Guild mission and this thing is threatening the pokemon I'm supposed to protect, as well as innocent bystanders, so I CAN'T leave.", the glaceon retorted.

Arka growled.  "You're going to end up the one hurting innocents!"

"No, I, WON'T!!", Sova exclaimed.

As the two were distracted arguing, the dragon formed a glowing orange sphere inside its mouth and fired the orb into the air, very high up.  It almost disappeared from view before glowing brightly and splitting into many meteor-like balls of orange energy.  For a moment, they seemed to just float gently down as they were very high up and appeared to move slowly, then they picked up pace and came closer to the ground, crashing with enough force to create small craters and kick up huge clouds of dust with each impact.  The attack was carelessly used, risking hitting anything in the general vicinity, regardless of whether it was a friend, foe or innocent bystander.

Sova did his best to dance around the Draco Meteors, so to speak, but one eventually landed too close to him and knocked him off his feet.  A few moments later, another crashed directly on him, the impact sending him to the edge of consciousness instantly as immense pain flooded his body.  Arka, however, managed to avoid every one of the meteors and still face the dragon down as the dust cleared.  She seemed extremely worn out from the fight so far, yet still standing.

A voice echoed through Sova's mind as he laid in the limbo of half-consciousness, "This one looks fun.  Maybe I'll kill your new girlfriend while I'm at it...."  It was exactly like his voice, yet the tone made it nothing like his voice at the same time....

(The numbers do matter, just not when your character has 10 or less energy left.  It's a way to allow someone to roll more than like once if their character doesn't have much energy and they have no restoring items.  And like I said, it's not abusing the system or anything, the admins all openly allow it and even do it and it's not just "someone" doing it, it's literally everyone who isn't you.  Buuut if you wanna limit your self oki, I just feel kinda bad for ya.

Klefki the god.)

PostSubject: Re: Last Lifeline   Last Lifeline - Page 4 EmptySun Apr 05, 2015 4:12 pm

Varda would have liked protesting, but Sova did mention that whatever he was saying wasn't up for debate, silencing the bird rather easily. He didn't want to go against his friend's wishes after all, so he wouldn't get angry at him. Even if it didn't feel good, he had trusted that his friend knew what he was doing even if it sounded dangerous or stupid. This far, things had gone... Well, maybe not fine, but they all were still relatively fine. Sova was the more knowledgeable one, so of course he looked up to the Pokémon! With a rather defeated nod the Swablu had to watch as his friend bolted off to battle a large and powerful enemy while he stayed behind with the Monferno.

"...W-We gotta go now!" The bird chirped at the monkey as he tried to look a bit more decisive, his eyes scanning for the kind of a wall the Fire-type Pokémon could scale easily. The two Pokémon started to move together as they tried to get out of the crevice, though the scorpion-like Pokémon were pretty much in their way now. They could have tried avoiding the aggressive Pokémon... But that would have meant leaving them behind to bother others without a lesson! While Varda was hardly a fighter, together with the Monferno, he didn't do all that badly. Even weak attacks proved to be rather effective thank to the type advantage both of them had.

The pair fought their way to the rocky walls, now close enough to be able to see some small cracks that could be used by such a great climber as a monkey. Varda had an easy time just flying to a higher ledge, but the Monferno was right behind him and hopped on the very same ledge with an acrobatic somersault. The Swablu didn't have time to clap for such a magnificent trick as one of the strange cat-like Pokémon with an extremely creepy stare kept staring at the two with its mouth open, breathing heavily. Certainly a creepy sight that made the bird and the monkey rather uncomfortable, so... Varda just sang a lullaby to put the thing to sleep...

"Ah!" The Swablu chirped as he seemed to notice something after his little song, waddling over to a strange blue orb he hadn't seen while dealing with the odd Pokémon. It was... One of those Wonder Orbs! He used his wings to wring it out of the little crack it seemed to be stuck on and showed it to his friend.
"Look! It's one of these things! Do you happen to know what it is?" Varda cooed, as he didn't know what this one would do when broken. He had never seen this particular kind and well, most of them looked very similar to him anyways. The Monferno seemed to scoff with a smug smile as he opened his mouth.
"Of course! What kind of an explorer wouldn't–" he started, but stopped when he realized that obviously the bird didn't know and well... The way those beady little eyes were staring at him were rather difficult to look into while saying something that might hurt the Pokémon's feeling.

"...Yeah. A Blowback Orb, I think. It should create some kind of strong gust of wind," the Monferno just replied without his earlier bravado. The bird Pokémon seemed quite amazed as he ooh'd and aah'd about the new discovery, momentarily distracted by the pretty shiny thing. But even he couldn't miss the odd orange light that suddenly started to glow from the sky, dying their surroundings with a sickly warm color that didn't feel good at all. As Varda glanced up to the sky, he could see the falling rocks... And they were falling right on top of the Absol and Sova! ...Well, in the general area at least as the rocks didn't seem to be targeting anything in particular, destroying whatever happened to get in their way. Unfortunately, Sova was one of those things as the little fox got hit.

"Sova!" The Swablu cried out in shock, his eyes desperately looking for something that could save his friend. And he saw the Blowback Orb. Would that...? He didn't know and he didn't have time to think about it! He grabbed the ball with his claws and flapped his wings to rise up into the air.
"I'll be right back!" He chirped at the Monferno and just dashed off to the dragon's direction without even waiting for a response, flying as fast as he could. Poor Sova was still on the ground and... It didn't seem like he was moving!
"You need to get up, Sova! It's not over yet," Varda yelled at his friend, hoping that it would get through and that Sova would hear it, and... And actually get up! This whole mission was his idea, so he didn't want someone to lose their life because of this, they were here trying to prevent lives from being taken!

The bird flew up closer to the dragon, not showing any signs of fear. Narrowing his eyes in concentration, he threw the orb he was carrying in the dragon Pokémon's direction.

((I thought the entire idea was to get levels and items to deal with the energy to show that you're getting stronger and better in-game too, hah. It is kind of abuse when you could roll the same exact things at 30 and 10 energy remaining but one will cost 30 points and the other 10. You're actually the first person I'm playing with who is doing this, so it hardly is literally everyone except me, hah. Seems to me like only a certain group that plays with the admins that decided on this rule actually know about it and use it, so if this is a real legit rule, it should be added to the rules about energy and rolling. Right now it's not in there, so if you see the Kat of Blue and numbers, maybe give 'em a holler?))

Last Lifeline - Page 4 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Last Lifeline   Last Lifeline - Page 4 EmptySun Apr 05, 2015 9:35 pm

Sova breathed slowly, trying to stop himself from slipping away....  Not slipping to death, just to unconsciousness.  It wasn't that he didn't want to pass out, it was that he didn't want something else to take over in return.  Surely, the absol could handle this....  Or if not, he would be able to get up eventually.  Maybe he'd die, but at least Varda and the monferno would-

Then he heard Varda's voice, faintly, but he could certainly hear it.  Varda.... was here.... with that thing....  He couldn't get up to protect his friend, he felt completely drained of his energy and his whole body was in pain.  At this point, he chose to let go willingly.  "Alright....  Jesus Take the wheel.  I can't do it....", he thought to himself as he slipped away and his eyes shot open.  Well.... technically his eyes, but not really.

Icy mist began seeping from the glaceon's body and a quiet, maniacal giggling began to sound as he slowly rose to his feet, suddenly seeming as if he hadn't just been hit by Draco Meteor.  The giggling slowly got louder and louder as an insane grin crept onto his face and his eyes grew wide with a certain look that said "I've completely lost my sanity" on his face.  He simply stood there for a moment as the water vapor in the air around him rapidly froze into ice crystals, the ground around him seemed to glaze over with frost and a whirlwind of sorts whipped up, creating a freezing Blizzard in seconds.

The hydreigon attempted to backhand the orb away as it came towards the beast, however, the orb activated on contact and blew the dragon back.  Just before hitting a wall, the powerful dragon stopped its self with its levitation, hesitating for a moment before flying forwards at a high speed.  Before it could attack the little thing that had interrupted its battle, however, the pain of a Megahorn in its side distracted it.  It glanced down to see an absol ramming its horn into it and swiftly grabbed the attacker in its two hand-maws.

Arka yelped as she was grabbed onto rather tightly by two mouths for hands, being pulled into the hydreigon's gaze and held there.  For a moment she just glared at it before noticing a distinct burning on her sides where she was being held.  She looked down to see the two grasping tools blazing with fire and burning her further.  Before she could even scream, she was tossed into the ground in a wave of fire let out from the two appendages, followed up by a Fire Blast from the creature's main mouth, knocking her completely unconscious.  The ball of fire seemed smaller than earlier, however it was still more than enough to finish the weakened absol off.

The hydreigon then locked its gaze on the swablu who'd proven to be enough of a nuisance to deserve being attacked, growling in a low and menacing tone as it lifted one of its arms and pointed the open maw at the end of it in the direction of the bird.  It glowed with an eerie purple aura before a dark, purple and black beam erupted from it, towards Varda.

(You'd have to roll quite a lot of high energy stuff to have 10 rolls take 30 energy.  It's just a way to let you use your last bit of energy to get a bit more and it's not abuse if all of the admins condone it.  Didn't know there were other people who did that, it could be at least partially because they don't want to roll a lot, though.  Some people prefer not having much to have to RP, since you're required to use everything you roll.  I'll talk to Blue about adding it to the rules, they probably didn't think to or something.)

Last Lifeline - Page 4 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Last Lifeline   Last Lifeline - Page 4 EmptySun Apr 05, 2015 11:55 pm

Varda noticed how the dragon tried to hit the orb aside, but that was when it shattered, releasing the strong gust that had been trapped inside it. Even a large, mighty dragon Pokémon didn't manage to resist the strength of the wind and even the bird flinched as he felt some of the air explode into their surroundings. The wind pushed the dragon backwards and the bird would have surely performed a victorious fistpump if he actually had fists, but... Well, the Wonder Orb hadn't really managed to do anything to the dragon, easily flying back after a moment of hesitation. Varda wasn't entirely sure what to do. He had thought that it would work or do something, but now the dragon was flying in his direction and he really didn't know where to go!

But it did seem like his distraction was just enough for someone to make use of it. The Absol jumped into the air and rammed its horn hard into the dragon Pokémon, clearly hurting it. The Swablu cheered on, of course not one to enjoy violence, but it was about time this Pokémon was stopped when it had already done so much damage! Varda's cheerful attitude was cut short when the Absol was grabbed by the dragon's... Extra maws or claws or whatever they were, the bird wasn't entirely sure and he honestly didn't want to go close enough to check...

"Stop it, you monster!" The bird chirped at the dragon as he flew closer, trying to peck its thick hide so that it would let go of the Absol. And well, it did. After burning the poor Pokémon, she was tossed aside quite effortlessly. The enemy Pokémon's red eyes flicked in Varda's direction as the two locked their eyes and stared at each other. The Swablu flew in place, feeling rather nervous as the floating dragon just stared and growled. It raised an arm towards the bird and – yes, it was clearly a mouth now that it opened up and he had the perfect view down the maw.

Before he managed to react, a strange black aura was followed by a beam that shot right into Varda, feeling like it pierced his innards with strange energy. The sensation had similarities to the Hyper Beam he had suffered on another mission, but... Different. Not quite as painful and scorching for one, but the bird felt his body contracting in an odd way as the pulse surged through him, leaving him out of breath and barely able to stay in the air as he gasped and convulsed.

((Currently people won't know about it if it's not in the rules, so that really seems like the main reason why it isn't used. The rules don't make a note of anything like this being possible so if someone asked me if something like this was permitted or not, I'd say no because the rules kind of contradict it as they are written...

As for the energy, well, by the time you have 30 energy, you tend to be in areas with high-energy rolls! Your last one took like 34 or something.))

Last Lifeline - Page 4 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Last Lifeline   Last Lifeline - Page 4 EmptyMon Apr 06, 2015 5:17 am

The glaceon's maniacal giggling continued as the blizzard around him seemed to blow forwards all at once, surrounding the hydreigon so thickly in a sphere of icy wind that it was almost impossible to see.  He didn't seem to care at all that Varda had been attacked, in fact he only glanced at the swablu to speak to him.  "Stay out of my way.", he demanded in a very harsh and cold tone, which contradicted the insane smile plastered on his face.
The hydreigon fired a Fire Blast out of the blizzard it was being trapped in, in the glaceon's direction, but it was easily avoided.

"If you want to die so bad.... it'd be rude of me to deny you.", what ever was left of Sova said in a sadistic and unhinged tone, so much so that it sounded nothing like him despite being his own voice.
The hydreigon inhaled as it prepared another Fire Blast, this time from its main mouth, but the glaceon blew a small stream of icy mist through the air and into its face, its mouth specific, as it attempted to prepare the attack.  It recoiled and roared in pain and agitation, closing its eyes for just a moment.  The glaceon took this chance to get behind it.  Once there, he fired another Frost Breath, coating its back and continuing the attack until it dropped to the ground, the area covered in icy mist by that point, replacing the pink mist that'd been washed away by a wave and a meteor shower, though it only covered a very small area and completely concealed the hydreigon.

"Sova" bolted into the misty arena and darted by the enemy's head before stopping.  He spun in front of it as it attempted to get back into the air and slammed his tail into its face, knocking it back to the ground and giving it a few scratches on the side of its face to think about.  It then raised one of its arms and attempted to attack once more with Fire Blast, but the glaceon simply bolted under its arm and stopped in front of its face, causing the blast to hit the ground nearby.  He then blew another Frost Breath into its face at point blank range, not stopping until its two hand-maws blazed with fire and slammed into the ground, requiring him to leap backwards to avoid the resulting fiery explosion.

The hydreigon's attack did manage to vaporize the mist around it as it fled away from the area.  It stopped over the unconscious absol, pointing an open hand-maw down as if to threaten the unconscious ally of the glaceon's life.  However, he merely giggled in an unhinged manner before replying, "Funny."
He began slowly moving towards it, prompting it to search for the swablu in the hopes of aiming at him as well and hopefully making the glaceon surrender.

(Fair enough, I'll talk to Blue about officially noting it.

The energy count is mostly for when you have a lot of energy.  It makes you burn a lot if you have a lot.  For instance, Sova has over 80 energy, so those first few ~30-energy rolls really drag him down fast.  After that, I have to use energy-restoration items to keep rolling and I'd only get about 2-3 rolls per Oran Berry if I did them separately, which I don't really think is worth it.  Then again I like to have a lot to work with so I'unno.)

Last Lifeline - Page 4 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Last Lifeline   Last Lifeline - Page 4 EmptyMon Apr 06, 2015 2:53 pm

Varda's strength failed him and he was forced to descend, barely able to keep himself from just falling straight down as he flapped his wings weakly. The air got colder and the wings stronger, a rather strange thing to experience in the Obsidian Crevice as it wasn't even all that cold... But then he realized that it had to be Sova! He remembered the Blizzard the Pokémon could create and well, he was an Ice-type! The dragon was soon encased inside the frozen winds and the Swablu managed to take a look at Sova, who... Well, didn't look all that great. The bird was just ordered to stay out of this, something that made Varda feel quite bad. Did Sova hate him now because he had disobeyed his earlier orders? It looked like he had angered his friend! Looking rather defeated, the little Pokémon plopped on the ground and started to waddle away like he had been told.

Eventually he raised his face to look for the Monferno. He had just left the Pokémon behind quite rudely, so it was about time he reunited with the monkey. What he saw was trouble however, as some kind of strange floating rock-like thing was pestering the Monferno! While the monkey was trying to hold up, it seemed like there were some difficulties, so Varda had to force himself on his wings even though his entire body ached. He flew up to the ledge where the battle was happening, hoping that Sova would be doing fine with the dragon...

"Is everything alright?" The bird chirped as the monkey dodged an attack from the floating rock, a bit preoccupied by the battle to talk... But he did so anyway, as the Monferno could use some help.
"Could be worse! But this thing is rock solid, seems like it's hurting me more when I try to hit it," he explained as he continued trying to avoid the attack, gritting his teeth before he continued,
"I found something interesting before I was interrupted. If you could distract it for a while, then I could–" the monkey didn't even get to finish his sentence as Varda nodded in agreement and flew over to bother the strange rock Pokémon. Up close, it was actually kind of pretty with the sparkling gems.

To the Swablu's luck, the stone wasn't all that good of an attacker. Neither of them were very fast or agile, but neither of them were very powerful, either. Anything he tried to do to the rock... Well, it was no use. His claws couldn't even scratch the hard surface and his beak just hurt if he tried to hit the Pokémon, so he just concentrated on keeping it away from the Monferno. The monkey meanwhile was charging up a punch, something he didn't have the chance to do when the enemy kept bothering him and ruining his focus.
"Get out of the way!" The bird finally heard from behind him and after a quick glance, did as he was told. The monkey's fist flew right into the rocky Pokémon, causing a crack to appear as it seemed to lose its ability to float and tumbled down the cliff.

Varda landed and peered over the edge to see if the Pokémon would return, but it didn't seem to. The Monferno behind him seemed awfully proud of himself as he dusted his hands before turning to the Swablu.
"Here, come," he urged as he started to climb up with the bird flying right behind him, standing up in front of a small hole what seemed to be like some kind of cave entrance. With a wave of his hand, the Fire-type Pokémon motioned Varda to look inside, so he did. Inside, there was... Another dragon. This one was smaller with two heads, but it did quite resemble the other Pokémon Sova was currently fighting – and was quite big compared to the two of them, still. It was difficult to say if it had eyes, but both of its heads were turned towards the pair.

"Oh... Is it a baby?" The bird cooed as he tilted his head. The dragon in the cave slowly got up on its legs and started to approach, something the Monferno and Swablu reacted to with inching away. While it looked a bit scary, it seemed more curious than aggressive as it stepped out of the cave and into the crevice's cool air. Well, it wasn't aggressive until it seemed like the two heads seemed to disagree about something and started quarreling with each other, snarling and snapping at each other quite loudly.
"Um, Sova! We found this Pokémon...!" Varda called out.

((Hah, a couple of 30 energy rolls is already more than what most can even roll. Sometimes just one roll is enough for happy fun times. And by fun I mean 10 energy monster Pokémon encounters.))

Last Lifeline - Page 4 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Last Lifeline   Last Lifeline - Page 4 EmptyMon Apr 06, 2015 9:02 pm

The hydreigon searched around the general area in an attempt to find its next target, but the swablu who'd been there earlier was.... gone.  "What, no birdie?  Yeah.... he left a few minutes ago.", the glaceon explained.

"Come any closer and-", the hydreigon began, but was cut off.

"Do it.", "Sova" insisted as he calmly walked forward.

The hydreigon spun its free arm around to aim it at the glaceon before firing Fire Blasts from both arm-cannons at the same time, one at the glaceon and one at the absol.  Of course, Arka was hit directly, but Sova slit under the blast, two trails of fire burning the ground to his left and right as it flew over him.  He then immediately bolted towards the hydreigon, causing it to flinch as it readied its arms to block the next Frost Breath.  To its surprise, however, the glaceon slid under it and fired at its back once more.

Unlike the last time he'd done this, he then repositioned himself in front of the hydreigon as it lowered its guard and fired again, covering its face.  As it fell to the ground, created a howling Blizzard around it, so thick and compressed that it obscured the dragon from view.  To top it off, he blew a long, continuous Frost Breath into the blizzard, Turning it into a menacing pitch-white half-sphere around the enemy.  A pulse of dark energy came out of the freezing sphere and hit him directly, but he seemed to completely ignore it, utterly unfazed.  After about 30 seconds of this, he finally stopped and let the freezing mixture of ice attacks slowly fade away.

A swirl-pattern of snow and ice was left over in a circle around the now-frozen hydreigon in the middle.  It looked as if the ice around it had been perfectly crafted to its form, not all jagged like an icicle or imperfect like a rock.  It was perfectly see-through, curved and smooth, due to the Blizzard winds and the conditioning of Frost Breath.  The hydreigon was frozen solid.  The thing currently in control of Sova's mind began a quiet giggle as it turned to walk away, hearing the voice of Varda faintly.

The crazy grin on the glaceon's face faded and he began to stumble a bit as what ever had taken him over faded away....  "Var....", he muttered as he fell to the ground.
The enormous physical strain he'd been through as well as the damage he'd taken finally being felt as Sova woke up, falling to the ground in just the right position to see the hydreigon and the absol.  "What.... did I.... did he....", he muttered before fainting, confused.
This was just like all the other times....

(Well, for me at least, it wasn't.  My first roll gave me 9 items and a trap after all.  MEANWHILE YOU GOT BIG DADDY HIMSELF.  I think RNGsus hates me.  xD)

Varda turned towards the battle scene as he tried to find Sova with his eyes, surprised to see a giant block of ice in the middle of the field... A giant block of ice that honestly looked like a beautifully carved ice statue of the dragon his friend had been fighting a moment ago. It took the bird a moment to realize that this ice statue most likely was the very same dragon Pokémon, considering that Sova had the power of ice and everything. The Swablu had no idea how to react to that, but once he saw his friend's walk sway as the fox stumbled and eventually fell, the little Pokémon with the Monferno let out a little chirp as he called out to his friend.

This time he actually waited for the monkey to be ready to go with him before he rose into the air and dashed off to Sova, the Monferno scaling down the wall rather effortlessly. The smaller dragon Pokémon with two heads they had found also seemed to want to follow them, though it was much clumsier with its heftier body and stubby limbs, but somehow it seemed to manage to descend after the pair. Varda landed right next to Sova and gently nudged him with his wing as the Monferno and two-headed dragon followed – the latter which seemed to quite enjoy the little game of tag and pretty much tackled the monkey under its weight when it caught up.

"Um, Sova... Are you alright? How are you feeling?" He chirped as he tried to get a reaction from his friend, glancing to look at the Monferno,
"Is there something we can do?" The bird asked as the monkey wrenched himself free from under the dragon's body, only getting licked by both of the heads before they started quarreling again. The Monferno walked closer to the bird as he inspected the scene, looking at the icy dragon statue, Sova and the Absol who seemed to be quite badly burned by now. The Fire-type Pokémon reached into his bag and seemed to be digging out some supplies to treat the wounds.
"I'll see what I can do..."

((If you want to have a little timeskippity hop in case Sova is going to be unconscious for a while, go ahead! Also I should roll once and see if I manage to get another big dragon, that would be funny.))

Sova laid there, dead to the world after his boy had been strained past its normal limit. "S.S.", the apparent alternate personality, always did this. Normally, this second personality would turn to corrupting the glaceon's dreams into nightmares, but he never seemed to dream after one of these "episodes." He just laid there, lifeless, as if his mind was too strained to think. Sometimes it lasted minutes or less, sometimes it lasted hours. It all depended on how far S.S. pushed his body and how hard others tried to wake him up.

He began to wake up as his name was called, though he still seemed dead to the world. He wondered where he was, who was talking to him and why moving seemed to be difficult. The latter was partly because he was still half-asleep and he was extremely worn out. He tried to recall what had happened but.... nothing. For the moment, the whole day was a blur. He tried to recall it from the beginning of the day and figure out what had happened.

He got up.... early as usual, due to nightmares waking him. Then he went to the guild to look for missions to take his mind off the aforementioned nightmares. Varda then showed him a mission. They went to do the mission.... He recalled some vague memories of fighting of some kind, but it seemed like it just ended after a short time of that. There was a part he couldn't remember. He wasn't awake enough to think very coherently, but he knew what that meant.

(Nah, Sova doesn't always faint very long after these episodes. If you got that dragon RNGsus would officially super-hate me.

So.... what enemies do we have left to deal with? Could just say some stuff got rekt by the Surf and Draco Meteor if you want.)

Varda sat down next to Sova, his body tired after everything that had happened. He kept an eye on what was happening around him, looking how the Monferno was trying to take care of the Absol's burns seeing how she was in the worse shape. Sova was breathing, that was good. Maybe it was about time to let him to rest for a while, at least the bird himself felt like he needed some rest and he had just taken one hit from the dragon, pretty much. He looked at the icy statue, still frozen and unmoving. It was so lifelike... What happened if the ice thawed?

The Monferno's approach broke the Swablu out of his own thoughts, his gaze moving in the monkey's direction with a tired smile, his eyes hopeful. The Absol had been bandaged up, though she wasn't awake. Hopefully, she would wake up soon. There were other members of her group around earlier, but now Varda couldn't see any. Perhaps they would have to go look for them in case they were injured, too.

The bird shook his head when the monkey asked if he needed some medical care too, as he didn't really feel like he needed it. Thus the Monferno moved to start treating Sova's wounds next, being gentle with his hands.
"I think he's really skilled with this kind of stuff, Sova! You're in good paws. Or hands. You don't have to worry," Varda chirped as he reassured his friend who, well, might not even be able to hear him currently, but that was Varda for you. In the background, the two-headed dragon tried licking the large dragon popsicle.

((Sableye, 2 Carbink, that Espurr and a Klefki left. I want the Klefki to be the true final boss that is actually taken care of in one punch because it would be beautiful. I am sad without my giant dragon roll.))

Sova groaned as the swablu's voice stirred him further into consciousness. He wasn't sure who it was speaking to him, but from what he could gather, they were talking about helping him. The feeling of someone touching him confirmed this. "N-no....", he muttered quietly, realizing talking was a rather difficult task at the moment. "Help.... Varda....", he requested to who ever was talking to him, for some reason thinking Varda needed help. His eyes still weren't open and other than the muttering, he was still in about the same condition he'd been in.

Finally, he remembered they were on a mission in the Obsidian Crevice. They were supposed to save a monferno.... who they'd found. There were a few absol, most of which had been knocked out by.... a hydreigon. The hydreigon.... was it gone? Was Varda hurt? What about the four absol!? Especially the leader.... the one who seemed so fearful that Sova was going to do something horrible. He knew he'd let S.S. take over.... Had he done something!?

He forced his eyes open and barely lifted his head to look around. A monferno.... THE monferno.... and Varda! But.... where were all the absol? He spotted what seemed to be a frozen hydreigon and remembered seeing it before fainting, assuming he'd done it. Near it, there was an absol who looked rather beat up. He just went out on a limb and assumed he caused it, considering the absol had said he would cause something bad.

(I imagine the klefki trying to be all menacing and villainous with like a really high-pitched voice.)

Varda tilted his head slightly when he heard Sova mutter something barely audible, hopping on his feet as he waddled closer and leaned towards the Pokémon's mouth to hear what he was saying. Help? Of course Sova needed help, but luckily they were prepared for that!
"We are helping! Well, he is. He knows what he's doing, so you'll be better than new in no time!" The bird chirped happily, talking now that he had the chance and it seemed like his friend was conscious and able to talk! Of course, maybe Sova shouldn't talk in that condition, so the silly smile he had soon turned into a slightly more serious and worried look.
"Though um, you don't have to talk. You should just rest."

The Monferno continued to do what little first aid he could with his supplies, concentrating on treating the wounds and burns of the Glaceon. The Swablu was the first one who saw Sova's eyes open and immediately he smiled as happily as he possibly could, his little eyes beaming with joy. He had to fight back the urge to shout or tackle-hug the injured Pokémon, not wanting to hurt him further in any way.
"Oh, you're awake! That's good," he smiled with a nod.

Varda noticed how Sova was looking at the Absol, bandaged up and not moving. His eyes darted from the Absol to Sova for a moment before he realized that well, his friend probably wanted some kind of explanation or reassurance, so the bird was willing to give that.
"Oh um. She'll probably be fine, she just was burned badly so she needs to rest for a while..."

((Yes. Excellent.))

By now, the ice around Sova's body had completely melted and revealed all of his fur. It was never very persistent ice, due to being created by Flash-Freezing and being fairly thin most of the time. It was always his own energy keeping it strong and he didn't have much of that to spare at the moment. As he stared at the absol, it was explained to him that she was fine. Yet.... he knew what ever had happened had to have been his fault. She'd said he was going to do something, surely this was it.

He attempted to get up, but straining his muscles didn't result in movement. Really, it only resulted in pain. He managed to barely roll onto his stomach as he tuned out the monferno trying to treat him and the swablu trying to explain the situation to him. The realization finally hit him that he was accepting pity.... he was accepting help.... He was weak enough to NEED help. To need help from S.S. to fight his battles and to need help from the ones he was supposed to be protecting to bandage him up afterwards....

He slowly planted his paws firmly on the ground and shakily pulled himself up, gritting his teeth from the strain and the pain. "I'm fine.... She looks worse.... if she's fine, I'm fine.", he huffed with a hint of bitterness in his tone before beginning to walk towards the unconscious absol and the frozen hydreigon. He had a bit of an evident limp, despite trying to hide it as he wanted no more pity treatment. He didn't need anyone's help to not live. If he always relied on help from others, he would never be able to get rid of the demon that plagued his mind. He was certain of this.

Varda's smile disappeared for a moment as Sova tried to get on his paws, luckily unable to do so, but that kind of movement really didn't look like something he should be doing. He was wounded and his body was clearly in pain, unable to handle the strain.
"Oh um, you really shouldn't be getting up yet... Unless the ground in uncomfortable! We can try to find you a more comfortable place to rest, but you should stay down, right?" The bird chirped as he tried to gently stop his friend from hurting himself even more, trying to get someone else to confirm his words as well. The Monferno did nod as he shifted a little to not constrict the Glaceon, but he still continued to work bandaging Sova.

But it seemed like the fox-like Pokémon wasn't listening. He got on his paws, shakily and clearly in pain, but he did it anyways despite his body's protests. The Swablu looked a bit distraught as he hopped after his friend.
"Oh. Well. She needs to rest too to get better. You don't really get better without resting," he explained his rather simple view of everything, but there was a seed of truth in it. Sova was in no shape to be moving yet, but the Monferno couldn't really stop a Pokémon from walking out under his care. And the bird couldn't really stop Sova, either.

The two-headed dragon that had been licking the ice noticed the approaching Ice-type Pokémon and both of its heads rose up as it seemed to stare in Sova's direction. Eventually it scuttled over as it seemed to be sniffing the bandaged Glaceon, one of the heads opening its mouth and sticking out a tongue as it seemed to try to reach Sova with it.

Sova shook his head in response to the bird's nagging.  "I don't need rest.  I don't need help.", he bluntly as he continued forcing himself to walk forward.
He knew he couldn't do anything to help or make up for what ever it was he did, which, judging from the absol's burns, was probably something involving not protecting her when he could have.  Still, he wanted to do something.  He decided he would just guard her until she woke up, to keep dangers away.

"All I need is to avoid weaknesses like "help" and "rest."  If I don't....", he paused as he tried to contemplate how to explain it.
"I'll explain it later.", he continued, mostly talking to Varda as he didn't care if the client understood.
It was his job to protect the client, not to make the monferno understand him.

He stopped as a zweilous ran up to him.  At first, he wondered if it was going to attack him, but to his surprise and confusion.... it licked him.  He rubbed his face with a paw in an attempt to get the saliva off as he replied, "....Hi."
He then turned back to the others and wondered which of them was interested in explaining why there was a zweilous licking him.  "So.... who brought the dragon?", he questioned.

(So they have a dog now? Also we can end the thread now.)
