» Personality: Simon is friendly, good-hearted, and a touch soft spoken; and though he feels very strongly about his morals he doesn't voice them very fervently. He's got a great work ethic; he will not stop until the job gets done and he can get very upset if he finds himself unable to complete a task he's been faced with. He is not easily upset by other things thanks to a very mild an patient temperament. Simon is self-sacrificial by nature. He is happiest while he is and when he has successfully helped another pokemon; even if it means giving up something he enjoys.

» Likes:
Community Service- Even if the community rejects him, Simon still enjoys community involvement. He likes to interact with other pokemon and, naturally, he enjoys the ability to do something beneficial for an entire group of pokemon.

Dark Places- Due to his odd coloration, Simon often encounters much more negative social interaction than he does positive. Due to this, he often gets tuckered out just by being around others and likes to curl up in a dark place where his colors blend in and he doesn't feel so much animosity. The darkness is a cool, quiet escape for him.

Pokemon- Be it a friendly pokemon or a total jerk, Simon loves all his fellow creatures. He doesn't feel intimately for them (for example, he's not Mercury.) but he does feel a slight kinship with them just for being alive. He's not one to get all choked up over the death of a stranger, but he would feel sadness for them.

Moss- Moss is his favorite food. He likes moss. It's cool and slippery and it's a great substitute for spinach. Moss. Available at your local pond.

Pete Moss- Pete Moss was Simon's best homeless Tangela friend.

» Dislikes:

Being Unoccupied- Simon does not enjoy sitting still for a long period of time. Even when people refuse his help, he will still persist. He's not just looking to be useful, he has a subconscious drive to get things done and he can be very, very serious about it.

Extremely Bright Places- Simon loves sunlight, but he struggles to handle intense and direct exposure to it. He was born with very sensitive eyes, and though her has very good vision he cannot handle bright lights as they overwhelm his eyes. The contacts help, but they only really serve to dull the pain.

Lukewarm Water- Simon finds lukewarm water disgusting. He likes warm and hot water, and he enjoys cool and cold water. Lukewarm water makes Simon feel like he's swimming in piss, and he refuses to go anywhere near it.

» History:
Simon's father was a traveling sales Pidgeot who just couldn't stay in one place due to his job. He was absent when Simon was born, leaving Simon's Swanna mother to raise him for most of his life. The two originally lived together in The Small Pond, where Simon enjoyed swimming lessons and naps in the shade. He had amazing eyesight, and would often pick out details of his surroundings that his mother wouldn't notice. He constantly astonished his mother, and she would often speak of how proud of him she was with there neighbors and friends in town. Simon also had vibrant blue plumage that caught the light very beautifully. Upon meeting him, pokemon were struck by the beautiful feathers and would often be drawn into conversions with him. Simon, though unaware that his plumage was attracting the pokemon more than he was, enjoyed this immensly due to his extroverted nature.

Little Simon and his mother took very few trips to Grassveil Town each year, so young Simon always insisted on going. He would often get separated from his mother, as whenever he saw a job or a service he could be doing he couldn't stop himself from going to help. For a time, he was known as the delightful little out-of-towner boy who was beloved by those he met. Simon especially befriended the elderly, who he was quick to assist, and even a homeless traveling Tangela named Pete Moss, who reminded Simon of the father he rarely ever saw.

Soon, it was becoming apparent that even short exposure to sunlight was getting to be too much for Simon's sensitive eyes, and he started spending less and less time out in the sun. He was upset, but he made the best out of it in his head. His mother was troubled by her son not being able to do what he loved, however, and so she began to look for solutions. She came across the shop of a Furfrou, who created contacts that could help the little Ducklett see in the sun. The only problem? They were pure white, and unnervingly enough they made the boy look like he had absolutely no pupils or irises, his eyes were nothing but white. Simon didn't care in the least. He LOVED his contacts!!! Not only did they let him see painlessly in gentle sunlight, but he was convinced that they made him see even BETTER!! Simon felt more like himself with the contacts in. He was so happy with his new look and ability that he went BACK to the dye shop that afternoon before he and his mother left and dyed a dull grey and intimidating black over his once vibrant feathers, to reduce glare and make him feel more at home in his own skin. Now, wherever he went, he felt connected to the cool shadows he loved to rest in at home.

Simon's new colors didn't appeal to the others quite the same way they appealed to him, however. People began to see him as a dark recluse who hid in shadow; who had an all-consuming fascination with darkness. They shunned him and began referring to him as the "Dark Ducklett," especially after Simon and his mother moved into the heart of Grassveil Town to be closer to friends, family, and work. Even Simon's mother was a bit uncomfortable with the change at first, though she never stopped supporting him. Simon was disheartened, but he remained undeterred. He quickly learned to cope with it and found new happiness in cherishing what little kindness he could scrounge up.
