Down by the peaceful waterside of Grassveil's Small Pond, Sinai the Trapinch was curled up in the bright warm sunshine. The lush green grass was incredibly soft under him, swaying very slightly in the occassional breeze and rippling the water. The heated rays reflected off his pinkish-brown insectoid body, reminding him of his childhood in the sweltering-hot desert of Scorchfall. "Ahh.. Ain't nothing better than this." He sighed lazily. The 'Hero of Grassveil' needed a day off from his... 'busy schedule'. Stretching his stumpy legs, he looked over his shoulder to make sure no other Pokemon were around. After all, it would truly be disastrous if someone saw an awe-inspiring specimen like himself being a total Slakoth at the pond like this.

Meanwhile, an anxious Theo was wandering around, completely helpless. He was clutching a piece of paper in his hands, on which directions to Pecha Forest were written. Just earlier, Theo had accidentally walked into some Pokemon and made them drop their Pecha Berry. In their rage, they sent Theo on a hunt for Pecha berries. Thankfully, a local had given him directions to a forest that was full of them. "But..." Theo sighed, looking at the handwriting on the piece of paper. It looked just like a bunch of scribbles. Theo looked up, brows furrowed in worry. However, just up ahead he saw a pond. "Thank Arceus! I'm thirsty!" Theo exclaimed, and began running towards the pond.

Staring out into the distance with his white-crossed eyes narrowed, a little Axew came waddling into view.. Wait, is it sprinting?.. Eh, whatever it's doin', it's pretty pitiful. Huh. Sinai jolted at the sight of the lost dragon and quickly got to his feet as it lapped at the cool water beside him, apparently oblivious to the Trapinch in his thirst. The Axew's tusked face was almost completely shoved into the water as he drank, and Sinai couldn't help but sneer and snap his jaws laughably at the sight. "Hey! Hey, kid! You're gonna suck up the whole pond if you keep chugging it like that!" Joking around and calling the stranger a 'kid' despite being the same level as he, he tilted his big head with greedy curiousity towards the piece of paper in his hand. "Ooh... Is that a Job I see? What kinda reward is it for? Sparkly treasure or a whole chest full of Cash or somethin'?"

Theo looked up, only now noticing the Trapinch standing before him. "Oh, hi!" Theo greeted, standing up again. He tilted his head in confusion at his joke. "I don't think I could drink that entire thing..." Theo murmured, glancing toward the pond. Pokemon here at Grassveil sure are strange, aren't they? As the Trapinch's attention was turned toward the directions in Theo's hands, his red eyes brightened. "Would you like to help me?" He asked hopefully. Theo was hoping that he would make some new friends. This could be the perfect opportunity!

"Yeah, nice to meet'cha and all that." He nodded absentmindedly, gaze glued to the sheet of paper. "You can call me Sinai, or the god of Grassveil. Both work... Or wait, even better: Sinai the god of Grassveil." Sinai finally lifted his head with a gaping, zigzagging grin at the fellow and held out a stubby leg for the Axew to shake. "If there's a tasty reward involved, I'm in!" Last time he had visited Pecha Forest, it was cold and boring with that dumb Sneasel he had to drag along, but at least this time he wasn't running some pointless errand. Interesting guy, isn't he... He's kinda dumb-lookin'.. I don't know if he'll be strong enough to keep up with a Pokemon like me...

Grassveil has a god? And it's a Trapinch? Axew shook his head. Grassveil made no sense. "I'll stick with Sinai." Theo replied, smiling as he shook one of Sinai's stumpy legs. "My name's Theodore, but I would prefer it if you would call me Theo." As Sinai told him about tasty snacks, Theo's red eyes sparkled. "You like food as well? I love food!" Theo exclaimed. Then he remembered the task at hand. "Um... The... "Job" is at Pecha Forest, but... I don't know where it is." He confessed, hoping this "God" could help him.

"Uh-huh, all kinds of... Brown Gummis.." Sinai stared off into space for a moment with a thin strand of drool starting to dirbble down his chin, but then quickly shook his head to clear the fantasy. The Ant-Pit Pokemon stood on his tiptoes to lean over the poorly-drawn map and tsked-tsked at the various scribbles. "What the heck is that mess?.. Pfft, I know exactly where Pecha Forest is! I know it like the back of my hand, just follow me, Theo!" ..In reality, he'd actually only been the forest once and could barely remember the specifics in getting there, but Sinai had already begun marching away from the Small Pond's waterside. Head high with pride and expecting the young Axew to follow his lead, the pair left the relaxing spot behind.
