History: Valkyrie grew up in an orphanage, her parents having been killed by a dragon when the original Dragonborn was still alive. She hated the keeper of the orphanage though, miss Grelod the Kind she wanted to be called. Grelod was the complete opposite of kind. She never let any of the children there be adopted.
One day though, one of the orphanage boys ran away, and rumors started that he ran away to summon the Dark Brotherhood. She thought this was just a myth, and that the Dark Brotherhood wouldn't really come and kill Grelod the Kind. When she woke up one day and seen Grelod's body, cold and bloody on the floor, she started to believe otherwise.
Other children were adopted quickly, but for some reason, nobody would adopt little Valkyrie. It wasn't until her late teen years that an elderly couple decided to take her in to give her at least a few years of having a family. She lived in the city of Dawnstar from then on, causing mischievous troubles for the people and having the knack of not being caught. This was much to her adoptive parents dismay, as they knew that she could be of a troublesome nature, though they couldn't say she had done any of the wrongs because they hadn't seen her do so.
She got adventurous one day though, and decided to perform the Dark Brotherhood ceremony. She lured her aging mother into the wilderness, there she killed her in order to perform the ritual.
Her mother's dissapearance caused a disturbance in the community though, and Valkyrie was the prime suspect for knowing what happened to her mother. With no witnesses though...nothing could be proven. One night, a week after she had performed the ritual, a member of the Dark Brotherhood appeared to her. She made only one request, to join the Dark Brotherhood.
From there, she was brought into the life of the Dark Brotherhood, trained as one of them, and now considers herself to be one of the best in the Dark Brotherhood. Whether this is true or not is only to be tested by her fighting skills.
The Dark Brotherhood, as of now though, is in need of finances. When the word of a dragon came, the Brotherhood was excited, as this usually meant more people would want contracts done as tensions would rise faster and anger would break out easier between individuals. When the reward for the dragon's death was issued though...Valkyrie decided that contracts alone wouldn't be enough to provide the Brotherhood with enough finances.
She now sets off to meet with the High King, and intends to be the only one receiving the reward, she doesn't plan on sharing with anybody else.
