Two Twins and a Different

Calen sighed and looked at the ground. Zhuli had been acting extremely foolish, all because of some stupid level one one video game. ONE video game. The black furred canine looked up, and saw birds flying overhead. 'I wish I could be as carefree as those birds.... then I wouldn't have to worry about my younger twin all the time...' He thought almost bitterly.

Zhuli, on the other hand, was mashing one particular button on her controller inside. "Come on... come on.... NOOO!!!! That's the fifth time this boss screwed me!" She yelled angrily. Slamming her fist into the ground, she roared, "HADES! KILL THE BOSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!" (Zhuli was very religious on the Greek side). Snarling, she restarted the boss fight.

One of the birds flying overhead looked different from the others... A yellow color came from the bird's coat. It touched down around where Calen had been standing, across the street on an adjacent sidewalk. Suddenly, a flash of light happened, and the bird started to change. It started to grow larger and get features not natural for a bird. But then when its metamorphosis had finished, a yellow hedgehog taking the bird's place, something was clearly able to be understood: it wasn't a bird... it was a shapeshifter.

Calen (somehow) hadn't noticed the yellow bird transform. Seeing that the birds were gone, He decided to sit on the curb and think about..... things. He most definitely needed to practice his traveling through shadows, and his chaos emerald powers needed to be harnessed. Otherwise, he'd be so powerful, but out of control whenever it would've happened. Calen cringed as he heard a yell from inside.

"RAAAAAARGH!" Came the voice of Zhuli from the house. Anyone within a 5 mile radius could hear her, and it probably wasn't pleasant to anyone's ears, hence Calen cringing. Throwing her controller down, Zhuli stormed outside and sat next to her brother. "I officially HATE Sonic Colors." Was all she muttered angrily.

"Everything okay in there?" The hedgehog said to Calen, from across the street. He wore shoes that kinda resembled Sonic's Sonic Adventure 2 SOAP shoes and Amy Rose's boots, as well as a pair of blue denim shorts and a black hoodie.

Calen turned to the unknown hedgehog. "It is now.... my sister's just irritated with her video game system." The wolf gestured to his pink canine sister, who was now staring grumpily at the ground.


"Stupid final boss......" Zhuli muttered loud enough so Calen and Jacob could hear.

He nodded. "Right. I never had any siblings so I don't know how it feels. And that's probably a good thing given my powers and all." He knew he had just said something about his ability to shapeshift and whatnot, but he didn't care at this point. He just wanted to start a conversation.

Calen sighed. "No offense to her, but siblings are....... irritating, most of the time." He stated quietly. Zhuli could be a bit nervewrecking to the male wolf, especially when she played video games. It was a bit ridiculous. Calen then saw what Zhuli was doing and muttered, "What are you doing?"

Zhuli, on the other hand, just stared at Jacob, as if challenging him to challenge her to do something. She barely heard Calen mutter, "What are you doing?" because she was so lost in thought. Then, the pink canine stood up. "I challenge you to a friendly, casual fight." She said with determination. The pink wolf was interested in how strong Jacob was.

The hedgehog was taken by surprise with that remark. "Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa..." He said, trying to calm the girl down. "I don't mean THAT kind of powers... I mean I'm a shapeshifter..." He explained.

Zhuli cut him off. "It's not because of what you said. I want to test your strength." The 18 year old grinned. Calen may have been 21, and more sensible, but Zhuli wanted to see how this hedgehog could fight, and take her tactics to his advantage.

Calen was dumbstruck. 'Is she insane?! He's probably way more powerful than her!' The wolf facepalmed, clearly not happy with his sister's remark.

"Oh great. Now I got a girl who wants to fight me..." He facepalmed. "I am not a fighter. I have no defense moves."

"That part doesn't matter. I just wanna see you use tactics, and see if you can take mine to your advantage. Plus, this is a mock fight. There's no death." Zhuli said, clearly calm about this situation. She always did this with newcomers, and.........


.......Calen hated it. Zhuli always had to fight newcomers when they came around, as if they were seasoned soldiers. In Calen's mind, he always felt that greeting them politely and leaving them be was better. No way in Tartarus was he fighting anyone but an enemy.

((Just a note, both are from a Greek religious family, and it also helps me avoid swearing in my posts :3))

Jacob knew now that there wasn't really any other way around this other than to give the girl what she wanted. He sighed. "Please go easy on me." He cringed and did the whole hand motion that meant "come at me." Oh, how he hoped this was going to be a nice 'battle'.
