What's Underneath the Seams?

Zorre looked around at the peaceful Pecha Forest. He always liked the generally calm atmosphere of the forest. He had many good memories in this forest, from meeting Serenity the Teddiursa here to meeting Varda for the first time. He was following Serena the Snivy, another new friend he had met in the Small Pond. Serena was a nice Snivy, he reflected. She was also quite strong. All in all, he was rather satisfied with the day so far.

27 - 5 = 22

Serena trekked through the forest with Zorre behind her, and all seemed calm. 'If I was able to make it out once, I can make it out twice....' She thought with determination. No worries here so far. The Snivy looked back at Zorre with a grin, to ensure all was clear at the moment. Serena didn't care about his talking disability, it was what was on the inside that counted.

Zorre didn't notice Serena's glance at him, too busy enjoying the sun streaming in between the trees. Unbeknownst to him, plenty pokemon had bad memories attached to the Pecha Forest, but he had nothing but good memories here. He had never had any problems in this forest, indeed he was often too powerful for the weak pokemon here to do much other than slightly annoy him, were he the kind of pokemon that got annoyed easily. But Zorre was a laid-back pokemon, and not much bothered him. He soon found a few flowers blooming under a patch of sun.



They were purple and very pretty. He looked over at his companion. Serena was a female pokemon, certainly she would enjoy the flowers? He bent down and gently cut a few flowers from the bush and walked over to Serena. "Flowers?" He offered them to her, suddenly feeling self-conscious. What if she didn't like them?

Serena turned and faced Zorre, seeing him holding out a flower to her. "Oh.... Thank you!" She said, putting it on her head like a bow. It suited her look, and the bow and joy ribbon added to her cute appearance. 'I look so cute!!' She thought, looking into a puddle at her reflection. The Snivy kept turning her head for a few seconds, then stood up, smiling at Zorre. Why did she suddenly feel warm inside?

Zorre looked down at the smaller pokemon and reflected that Serena looked rather pretty, especially with the flower on her head like a bow. His stomach fluttered suddenly and he blinked. What in the world was that? He had never felt something like that happen before. He wondered if maybe the fruits he had had at breakfast had disagreed with him or something. But it wasn't like his stomach hurt; so he was rather confused.

He blinked and looked back down at Serena, realizing that she had thanked him for the flower. "Be welcome you..." he said, jumbling up the words more than usual. He blushed, his black cheeks lightening to a silvery-grey in his embarrassment. How could Serena even stand to be around a dumb pokemon like him anyway?

Serena suddenly felt more self-conscious. Did he like her? Was it possible she liked him? What was happenening? 'WHAT IS HAPPENING RIGHT NOW WITH MY FEELINGS?!?!?' She screamed in her mind. There was nothing more awkward than right now, and she noticed Zorre blushing. The Snivy only knew this because his cheeks were turning silvery grey. Soon hers were turning pink. 'This was not my expected turnout at all...' She thought.

Zorre noticed that Serena had started to blush as well, and he wondered why. It wasn't like she had embarrassed herself like he had or anything. He cleared his throat softly, feeling a little awkward. He wasn't sure what exactly was going on here, but it was rather uncomfortable. He didn't want to lose his newest friend, after all.

Serena thought she sensed another presence nearby. "There's someone else with us..." She whispered. Suddenly, a Murkrow dove out from the canopy of the trees. 'There it is!' The Snivy grimaced, as she was too slow to move and the Murkrow slammed into her. 'Ow......' Standing up, she smacked it with Iron Tail, then retreated up a tree. 'No no no no no.....' She thought desperately.

Zorre heard Serena's warning, but failed to act as the Murkrow attacked his newfound friend, shocked at the sudden appearance of the bird. When Serena whacked the bird with her iron tail and then quickly retreated up a tree, Zorre snapped into action. He growled at the bird for daring to attack his friend before racing forward quickly and slashing at it with his scythes.

Serena peeked down from the canopy nervously. 'He's fighting..... for me?' She thought wonderingly. The Snivy didn't want to go back down until the Murkrow was down for the count. She had a bad history with flying types in all places of all kinds. Almost none of them were considerate of her not wanting to get dive-bombed. This angered her somewhat, and she sent a Vine Whip the Murkrow's way from the tree, hitting it in the side. It regained balance again, though. Frightened, Serena recoiled back into the tree. She was not getting mauled by a bird.

Zorre noticed the problems that Serena was having, still stuck in the tree. He glanced around for anything to ward the murkrow off, not wanting to attack the stupid bird while it was so near to his friend. He noticed a seed on the ground a few paces away and scooped it up, realizing that it was a blast seed. He let out a vicious cry, drawing the Murkrow's attention onto him before taking aim and launching the blast seed right into the murkrow's open beak.

Serena watched the Murkrow nearly explode, and covered her eyes. 'That's a bit too gory for my taste...' She thought, shuddering. Gore didn't go well with Serena. It always scared her a little bit, even if it was barely bad. She would still cover her eyes and wince nervously, no matter what the situation. Shaking her head, the Snivy climbed down the tree. "That was a close one..." Serena said shakily.

Zorre nodded at Serena's words. He looked up at the Snivy in the tree. "ok... you are?" he asked hesitantly, noticing her shuddering. He was nervous that another pokemon would show up and attack them, and he didn't want his friend to be stuck in the tree again when a pokemon attacked. It was too easy for something to separate them like this.

"Yeah... I'm fine." Serena said, regaining composure. She was okay now. That had just startled her quite a bit. 'Oh well. Couldn't help it, could I?' The Snivy thought. A feeling crept up inside her. 'I'm....I'm going to evolve soon!' Serena thought with excitement. The grass snake was so excited her eyes lit up, and she was filled with a whole new energy.

Zorre noticed Serena's new excitement. "Up, what; something is?" he asked his friend, wondering what had caused the sudden excitement in the snivy. He buzzed his wings and launched himself into the air, landing on a branch in the tree next to Serena. Maybe if both of them were up in the tree, no pokemon could get to them.
