| Дела говорят громче слов.Actions speak louder than words. » Name: Ymir » Gender: Female » Species: 215 - Sharp Claw Pokemon - Sneasel » Affiliation: Wanderer
» Level: 5 » Energy: 22 » Ability: Keen Eye » Moves: - Scratch (Start) - Leer (Start) - Taunt (Start) - Icicle Crash (Egg Move)
» Personality: Ymir is best defined as aggressive. She's often violent and crude in her mannerisms, and thoroughly asserts herself onto anybody around, either through instilling fear or through creating a begrudging respect. Her honesty has gone past 'morally good' and way into 'excessively blunt', and she doesn't tolerate disrespect without a good reasoning behind it. Coming to arms quickly, the Sneasel will fight all her fights without question or qualm. Even the most subtle amount of mockery will irritate her as well, with a major point being any jabs at her home culture or broken usage of this land's language.
However, she's far from a completely immoral Pokemon. The opposite, in fact; Ymir often holds the weak as something to be protected, and can get along just swell with anybody if they don't jab at her. She's confident in her own abilities, but makes sure not to flaunt them. With acquaintances, Ymir has an innate charisma and often does her best to increase morale, even if she may be a bit rude about any antagonists.
Underneath all that outward strength is a deep empathy to others, and the dual-type knows when not to cross any boundaries or hold her tongue. If the moment is serious, she'll also calm down for a few moments and quietly (but very extensively) threaten anybody who dares try and debase the depth of the situation. She's not a total sweetheart underneath; she's not afraid of eliminating threats as efficiently as she can muster, even if they have valid reasons. But to friends, Ymir is more understanding and intimate than any stranger could ever dream of.
» Likes:
Asserting Dominance/Equality; She's the top of the food chain around here, and she'll make sure you remember it. Whether you understand her words or not, Ymir will convey her equality or superiority (depending on the situation) through action and through vengeance to further establish any respect that's due to her. Given her intolerance of mockery, she'll also make sure you shut up for good, and treat her as an equal, not just as the inferior foreigner.
The Masses; Having emerged from a rebellion against a tyrant, the Sneasel truly does observe the respect that the masses deserve for their combined efforts. It makes her happy when all Pokemon are in harmony, simply moving with each other happily, minding their own business. Anybody who dares to assert themselves as a higher power among the equal individuals will see a wrathful Sharp Claw Pokemon headed their way.
Winter; Hail meant that Pokemon lost health. That they were slowly whittled away until they were forced to retreat to safe areas, with all their exploration and progress irrecoverable under the cruelty of snow and ice. To Ymir, to Sneasels, to Ice-types, Hail meant safety. It provided them with a natural defense against enemies, and even allowed certain Pokemon a distinct advantage in ability. The cold felt warm, really, to those of the ice variant, and it reminded them of home. Ymir is no different.
» Dislikes:
Tyranny; Consecutive abuse of power is an instant sign of evil for Ymir. To take advantage of the innocent and the weary, the young and the old, it is the ultimate proof of selfishness and disregard of others. Whether accidental or purposely, the Sneasel does her best to stand against oppressive powers, and beat them into equality, or even better, inferiority to her or to the masses.
Disrespect; Being a rather irritable personality, Ymir doesn't take kindly to those who slander against her without due proof or evidence. If you've beat her, then yes, talk about her weakness all you want. She'll just look on begrudgingly, but have a respect for your power. But if you libel against her on account of her race, land of origin, culture, or relationships, be sure that the Sneasel will settle this argument with violent evidences.
Sand; Ymir despises sand. It gets in between her claws, in her throat, in her eyes, and it's normally found in hot climates where she's not accustomed. It doesn't even melt, which is the worst part! When there's sand anywhere, she'll be annoyed out of her mind, and constantly whine or grumble about the circumstances. Sandstorms are especially horrid for her, and she often tries to avoid any missions involving such areas.
» History: Raised in a distant north land by a Beartic father and a Weavile mother, Ymir always learned that family meant everything. They were the wind beneath anybody's wings, the snow behind your back, and family was always to be protected. Both species were distinctly territorial, and so the youth was educated in practicing that protection; using intimidation to startle enemies, marking their territory, keeping a strong face to establish themselves as untouchable by establishing equality or superiority, so on, so forth. Diplomacy was fine, but not practiced among their kind; they were built to fight, and so they fought.
However, as the child grew older, the fundamentals of the land begun to change. A tribe of Ursarings started to actively hunt down other nests and prove superior, instead of the widely accepted protection and equality among the lands. Soon, the Ursarings held absolute power over the north lands, and begun employing scared officers to command scared citizens into their every bidding. Ymir's family lived near the Ursaring lands, so they were some of the first to be employed. Both her mother and father became commanding officers for the tribe to reign over others, and after a while, the head Ursaring's most trusted Pokemon among the few non-Ursaring officers.
But they never agreed with Ursaring's beliefs. They went along, so as to ensure a comfortable life to begin with, and did their best to please him. But under the table, Beartic was devising plans to stage a coup, while Weavile spread the word about the rebellion and it's details through highly anonymous means. It was ever so subtle, but ever so calculated. Ymir didn't fully understand the mechanisms until much later, but her moral compass begun to develop as her home life begun to focus on the betrayal of Ursaring.
Being the daughter of the leading non-tribe generals, Ymir got a lot of flak for her parents' positions. Children her age would label them 'traitors' and some of the more begrudging children, those of the work force, would constantly bully her for her heritage. To the former, Ymir empathized with completely, and would respectfully apologize and explain their situation. The latter? Family was important: therefore, to arms, and to battle she would go. After constant tussles and hostile environments, Ymir became the violent, irritable Sneasel she is today.
After countless hours of preparation, the day of the coup was upon them. The tribe's defenses were weak, and the two generals called an emergency meeting, prompting the appearance of the head Ursaring and his fellowmen. Secretly, the citizens were rallied at their walls, and their morale was finally boosted to the point of full-hearted rebellion. Ymir was fast asleep as the attack signal came forth. The Ursarings were driven out and banished from the northern lands within the night, and the citizens cheered when the tyrants were confirmed as gone by daylight.
However, reestablishing government was no laughing matter, and would take years to construct before finalization. Beartic and Weavile contemplated the place of their daughter in this tense period, and given the resources needed for the change, as well as the looming subject of possible diplomacy, they decided it was best to send Ymir down south to try and gain alliances. Though, unofficially, it was to lead her away from home, where she could calm down and forget about any bad blood she'd accumulated during the Ursaring reign.
At first, the Sneasel didn't agree with their methods, saying that it was so sudden after the victorious revolution. As they slowly explained their reasons and reminded her of her duties to family, Ymir hesitantly agreed to their logic, if not a bit begrudgingly and cautiously. She packed her things, said her goodbyes to everyone, and left the northern lands, making sure to write to them very often. And so Ymir begins to write her own story, the sequel to the epic tale of snow and ice.
» Other: Due to the large distance between the north lands and the Grassveil area, Ymir actually speaks a different language primarily, and has only recently begun learning the language spoken near the warm climates. This results in broken sentences, wrong grammar, an absurdly heavy accent, and confusing speech patterns, as well as Ymir lapsing into the north language very often.
Ymir can suffer from severe culture shock, given the unified structure of Grassveil compared to the tribal alliances of the north. In addition, she'll be amazed at some of the simplest of things, and at other times, find everyday traditions to be utterly confusing. She's trying her best to get along, however.
