| Subject: Arietta the Fletchling Wed Oct 22, 2014 11:32 pm | |
| » Name: Arietta » Gender: Female » Species: #661 Fletchling, the Tiny Robin Pokémon » Affiliation: N/A
» Level: 5 » Energy: 16 » Ability: Gale Wings » Moves: - Tackle (Start) - Growl (Start) - Quick Guard (Egg Move) -
» Personality: Arietta, or Arie for short, is a very lively and energetic pokémon, almost to the point of being quite boisterous. Despite this, she does have a very good head on her and is extremely quick witted and intelligent, being able to strategise elaborate plans of action after only observing something for a short period. Interestingly, Arie can be quite hot headed at times and is one to lose her temper easily with those she does not get along with. However, Arie is extremely loyal to those whom she calls friends. She is the type who would refuse to leave anyone behind, no matter the circumstances and treasures her bonds with others above all else.
» Likes:
Being around others - As she treasures her friends, Arie would much rather spend time with them than be alone. It doesn't entirely matter what she's doing or whether it's worthwhile, as long as she's with the pokemon she cares about. In fact being truly alone is something she fears.
Problem Solving - Her love for puzzles began when she had nothing better to do whilst her parents were filling in stacks of paperwork. She'd found a book filled with unsolved puzzles, and found that she rather enjoyed trying to figure them out. This love for puzzles and problem solving became one of the more positive things Arie took from her rather subpar childhood. She loves a good riddle, and though not exactly the best at anything mathematical, her parents claim that her intelligence is supposedly rivalled by none when it comes to practical problems. However, sometimes Arie finds that she will overcomplicate things in her enthusiasm.
Exciting and energetic activities - Whether it be battling, flying at high speeds, or even racing from one end of Grassveil to the other, when she hasn't got anything better to do, Arietta loves to engage in activities that call upon her near endless reserves of energy. It's quite common to see her zipping from one place to another, constantly on the wing as she bounces between events that interest her, often dragging her friends along too so that they don't miss out.
Autumn, especially during the harvest period - As much as Arietta likes the food that comes from autumn harvests, the beautiful colour of autumn leaves, and the chilly breeze that makes flying all the more refreshing, the true reason why she loves autumn so much is that some of her most treasured memories happened around this time.
» Dislikes:
Those who would betray their comrades - It doesn't matter what side of the law someone is on, Arie is one to become angered if someone is willing to ignore or disregard the bonds of friendship and camaraderie that form between those who work together. She believes that no matter where you come from, friends are the things you should treasure most and whether someone is a criminal or a law abiding citizen does not change this.
The Police Force - As a result of the behaviour of her parents when she was growing up, Arietta has a bit of a love-hate relationship with Grassveil's police force. On one hand, she admires them, respecting them and what they do to protect Grassveil Town and it's surrounding areas. She also looks up to her parents, despite the fact that they've never really been there for her and she respects those who choose to fight alongside a partner as part of the force. However, on the other hand, Arie also associates the police force with her lonliness as a young child. As her parents were always too busy to play with her, she'd more often than not end up bothering them at their desks whilst they were doing paperwork... and of course, in piles of work that can get frustrating. Though not entirely the fault of Arie's parents, she doesn't exactly harbour entirely positive memories of her time spent there and as a result will more often than not choose to be frustrated with those associated with the force.
Sour foods - Arietta will eat pretty much anything when it comes to berries and fruits, but the one thing she won't touch is anything sour. She's not entirely sure why she dislikes the flavour so much, but she would much rather eat something dry or bitter than anything sour. It probably has something to do with the involuntary reaction that most have to sour foods.
» History: Arietta was born to a Talonflame and an Archeops, both members of Grassveil's Police Force and well known in the area for their success as partners in the constant fight against crime. However, though both were skilled in capturing outlaws and solving the problems of the town's citizens, they weren't the best of parents. At least not in Arietta's opinion. As their work would always take up the majority of their time, Arie never really had time with her parents. When she did get to spend time with them, they always seemed to prefer teaching her skills they thought would become useful later on in life rather than playing games or giving her what others would call a normal childhood. One of the young Fletchling's most treasured memories however, is an autumn harvest festival where her parents were given the day off. It was one of the few times where both her mother and father decided to lie back and relax, allowing Arie to do the same. They spent the day celebrating with the other residents of Grassveil Town, Arie and her parents even attempting to bake something with the juicy harvest of apples and other fruits that year... though it didn't exactly go to plan as baking with wings isn't the easiest thing in the world. Needless to say there was much mess to clean up that day, but the smiles it brought made it all worthwhile in Arietta's mind.
Though Arie has known lots of pokemon over the course of her life, she was never entirely lucky with those she befriended. Most seemed to move on where she couldn't, and left her behind where she remained perpetually stuck in the shadow of her parents's vast legacy. Others would decide that they just didn't want to be around her anymore, whether it be because Arie couldn't move on or for other selfish reasons. It is due to these losses that Arietta does her best to be a good friend to others, and why she treasures her friends as she does. She doesn't want others to go through the same as she did, watching everyone she knows abandon her when she needed them the most.
Arietta's parents had always expected her to join the police force when she was old enough. Though she is not yet strong enough to do so anyways, Arie knows that of all the things she could do, joining the police force is rock bottom on the list. As honourable as the members of the force are, and as much as she looks up to both her parents and other police officers, she can't force herself to stay stuck trying to live up to her parents for the rest of her life and so actively seeks another path for herself. Upon finally confessing these feelings to her parents, they were hesitant, but eventually accepted their daughter's choice and nowadays fully support her in her endeavours to find something she truly wants to do.
