"We interrupt your regularly scheduled program for this important announcement for the Chancellor or Defense." This announcement came on across all of the TV Channels. No matter what channel you turned to it was the same thing. The Chancellor of Defense then began to give his announcement. "Over the past years many things have changed." he said, "Crime caused by the bending population has increased drastically, and it has become too much for the police force to handle. That is why I am making this announcement, many people have heard the rumors or theories of a secret elite enforcement team that take care of the criminals. I am here to abolish those rumors, by admitting that they are true. Thirteen years ago before bending became common once again, we began training individuals in what was known as Program: Avatar. These individuals were trained in not just one, but all of the known bending arts today. They are in aspect, like the avatar from ages ago, who could bend all four elements and was the keeper of peace in the world. And today they will continue this legacy as peace keepers of our world. This announcement serves as their call to action. From this day forth, the avatars will be making their status known as Avatars and keepers of the peace. This is an official statement that Program: Avatar is now active and will be the ---" "What a load of bull," one of the people watching the announcement said as he turned off the television. "Like there really is such thing as an avatar," he said as he got up off the couch. "I don't know man," one of the other guys said, "I doubt they would make an announcement like that if there weren't serious." "Oh come, there is no way they would wait this long to announce something like this if it were true." the first guy said, "What do you think?" he said looking a guy whose limbs were spread out and frozen to the walls, "What's a weak Earth bender like you think about this Program:Avatar?" he asked. The pinned guy looked up at the first thug, "You know what I think?" he said with a smile, suddenly the ice that pinned him to the wall started to steam, and then it all melted away. And he fell to the ground. "I think you guys are going down." he said. He then did a round house kick that sent out a blast of air that pinned the other four people in the room against the wall. He then jutted his arms and pulled them in, causing the stone wall to bend around their limbs pinning them to the wall. "Because my name is Cedric Derigal, and I am an Avatar." he said. After dusting his clothes off Cedric then walked over to a metal box that was knocked to the side of the room. He opened it and checked the contents, "These are all of the student IDs and meal cards you stole right?" he asked pointing to the box, "Yea this looks like the right amount." he said as he closed the box, "I hope I don't see you guys again." he said as he waved to the four guys pinned on the wall. When he walked outside to a wide open courtyard area he stopped in front of a group of about ten benders. "Oh yea... I forgot about you guys." he said. He moved his arm and the water from a nearby puddle moved up and followed the motion of his arm, "So then, who would like to face my judgement?" he asked with a smirk on his face.
In this RP you will be an Avatar that is part of Program:Avatar. Yes, you DO have to be part of the program to be an Avatar no exceptions, and I mean none. You don't have to be an Avatar if you don't want to, but I mean come on, who wouldn't want to be an Avatar? The intro was the day that program avatar was announced, so that all of you know how it was announced. It was also a preview at what my character Cedric is like. Name, Gender: Self Explanatory Age: Since bending came back about 10 years ago, and Program: Avatar was started say three years before it officially came back your age should be around 18-21. Since they would have started their training at around 5-8. Physical Appearance: Self-Explanatory, pictures are allowed Personality: Self-Explanatory, but this is kind of what decides your challenge element do chose carefully. History: What was their life like before Program: Avatar became official? What did they do? Preferred Element: The element they bend the most Starting Element: Even though there is more then one avatar, they all started with their own element and then followed the elements of the avatar cycle. Challenge Element: The element that they had the most challenge learning how to master. You cannot say none, all Avatars have trouble learning one of the elements. Usually the one that is opposite to their personality. It does not have to be opposite of their starting element, just opposite of their personality. Air: Air is the element of freedom. Air Benders have nimble movements and sacrifice a strong offense for a powerful defense. When faced with a large obstacle, Air Benders would usually just move out of its way, rather then stand their ground. So if your character is one to stand their ground rather than avoid confrontation, then Air would be their challenge element.
Water: Water is the element of change. Water benders use the flow of the energy to their advantage and also use their opponents power against them. They don't rely on their own strength and are very versatile benders. If your character is one who would rather use their own strength instead of using someone else's against them and prefers to be very direct, then water would be their challenge element.
Earth: Earth is the element of substance. Earth benders stand their ground, and absorb oncoming attacks so that they can overwelm their opponenents. If your character is one who would rather evade attacks and use quick nimble movements, then Earth would be their challenge Element.
Fire: Fire is the element of power. Unlike other benders that bend from an outside source, fire benders use their own energy to create fire. Fire benders must maintain a constant source of energy in power and must remain in balance in order to deliver successive attacks. If your character is one who had trouble amassing large and constant amounts of power, or prefers to go with the flow and take things easy, then Fire would be their challenge elements.
Examples of challenge elements would be: Aang had trouble bending Earth, because he preferred to avoid confrontation, so he had trouble with the stagnant and stable style of Earth Bending. And Korra had trouble with Air Bending, because she was very direct, and had trouble walking away from a challenge, she also had trouble with the spiritual side of it, but that's another story.

Here is my character: [spoiler] Name: Cedric Derigal Gender: Male Age: 20 Physical Appearance: http://i16.mangareader.net/magician/181/magician-3454711.jpg He is the guy who is standing on top of the ledge, he is obviously tall and you should be able to see his face. He does not have a sword and he wears regular clothes(jeans, t-shirts, etc.) but he does have a necklace that he wears. Personalty: Cedric is a very direct and strong willed bender. He is very strong willed and he has a strong sense of justice, and now that Program: Avatar is official, he wants to enforce that sense of justice. He has a lot of friends, but he doesn't like to fight with them because he believes in his own strength and doesn't rely on others that often. His fighting style is very direct (If you couldn't tell from the intro) and he won't hesitate to fight you if you attack him. He likes to think of himself as a guardian of justice, he will help almost anyone who needs it. As you can see from the intro, he is pretty cocky about his skills, and sometimes he is right to be. History: Cedric was ecstatic when he learned that he was going to be trained to be an avatar. He took his time with his training, making sure to master every aspect of each element. When he reached his last element of water, he had trouble getting the hang of it. He just wasn't used to the fluid motions of the techniques because he preferred to be more direct. After some long and intensive training, he finally got the hang of water bending and eventually passed the test and had officially mastered his final element. After he finished his Avatar training, he went back to his normal life, he went to school and hung out with friends. After bending started to come back, he and his friends 'discovered' that he could earth bend. So he was only allowed to earth bend until Program: Avatar became official. He is now in his third year of college, and he and his friends worked with the police force to help limit crime. He enjoyed watching Pro Bending and other bending sports with his friends. His friends would constantly pester him to form a team with them, but he would constantly refuse, claiming the he thought he wasn't good enough to do pro bending. But in reality he was worried that if he got cornered he would accidently reveal that he could bend more then one element. When Program: Avatar was announced, he was in the center of a group of thugs hideout, he went in to try and find them to get back all of the student IDs and meal cards that they had stolen from students. He underestimated them and was not able to handle them with just Earth, but luckily for him, Program: Avatar became official and he was able to use his true skills.
