The Town of Beginnings (Open)

The sun shines down onto the bustling town. Pokemon rush about, chatting and going about their business. Everyone seems to have places to go and things to do. However, one Pokemon wanders about the town, as if he were searching for something rather than getting where he needed to be...

Marshall had never liked crowds. It was all too easy to get caught up in things that you hadn't exactly signed up for. As he had recently discovered, he didn't particularly enjoy being lost, either. Back in the desert, he didn't exactly need to search for things; all he needed to worry about was that he was moving forward. As a result, he didn't exactly have a keen sense of direction. All of this led to one thing: A very lost and distressed Marshall.
Come on, how hard could this be? All I need to do is find one darned building... Marshall thought to himself.
Deciding that he needed a break, Marshall pulled away from the crowd and off to the side.

Eljang watched the two for some seconds as they walked, then started following. Not to seem less stalking or something, he just forgot to do it. The idea struck him when he started, though. He couldn't just move after them like some creepy stalker! The Girafarig kept some distance between them, but could still somewhat catch up on their conversation. Eljang walked normally, even letting his hooves make their typical noise when hitting the ground. Sneaking would be too suspicious, and after all, he was just going to figure out where the fastest way to the guild was. For the moment being, the Long Neck Pokémon simply ignored what they said and focused on the path they were taking.

"He's a little guy I met on my way to Grassveil Town," Marshall said in reply to the Scyther's question. "He's pretty eccentric, to the point of being kind of immature. I just don't want him to get into any trouble, but from what I figure, he has a knack for finding trouble." Marshall thought for a moment. "...Heck, I'll bet he's already gotten into trouble on the way to the guild. He might be a little late."

After a few more moments of walking, Marshall found himself in what appeared to be a clearing. The crowd had been reduced to the occasional Pokémon walking by, giving Marshall a tremendous feeling of relief. Staring ahead, Marshall noticed a long, stretching path of dirt that disappeared over a distant hill. Confused, Marshall spoke to himself out loud. "...Could that be the right way?"

Ajex looked at Marshall and saw the direction where he was looking. There was a dirt path that went over a faraway hill.

"Hopefully, it's the right way," Ajex replied. His spirits were lifted a bit higher now that he had found a path that didn't look familiar to him. It seemed like he had walked around the entire town twice, but he had never noticed the dirt pass that led away from the town.

Ajex turned to walk down the dirt road. He was tempted to even run down the road out of excitement. This is it, He thought to himself. I'm finally going to be joining the guild!

A dirt path stretched out over the hill. It looked like a path that would lead somewhere, and the pokémon numbers dwindled out, most noticeably the salesmon amount was way lesser. Grass blew silently backwards in wind by each side of the path, giving a relaxing, spring-like feeling. Eljang smiled at the nice environment, though it did worry him that he might get spotted easier now that there were less pokémon.

"I wonder if there's a long way left to the guild. I suppose not, it's not like an own town... Right?", he thought to himself. The dirt under his hooves made the clacking usual noise less noticeable. Even his second mouth had decided to be quiet this one time. Still he hoped the decreasing numbers of passerby pokémon didn't reveal him to be stalking them like that.

"...I think this must be it. I mean, I don't think any other building in Grassveil would be placed this far away from the others." As Marshall slowly traversed the path that presumably led to the guild, his mind started to race as adrenaline pumped through his body. This is it, it's finally happening. Today will be the day that I join an exploration guild and start my life as an adventurer. The closer I get to the guild, the closer I get to the guild, the closer to get to fulfilling my dream...

Pausing for a moment to address his partner, Marshall turned his head to glance at his partner. "Are you ready for this? We're finally nearing the moment where we join an exploration team. It's a huge milestone for the both of us."
