Naivety, Meet Bullies!

The skiddo had burst in the front entrance with an gleeful bleat, an espurr rode on his back, clinging onto his handle-bar like horns for deer life as he mad his mad dash through the town into the guild.
"Is this it!? Are we here?" the skiddo piped up, giving an excited bounce without waiting for the espurr to climb off. He had forgotten, in his excitement, that the espurr would not be able to dismount the skiddo safely if he did not stop moving. He had only just realized it, and suddenly became as still as a statue, the only part of him moving was his mouth has he began to apologize to the espurr for his behavior and life endangering excitement.

Migna was not one for thrill rides like that one. She was just barely able to hang on and steer the madcap Skiddo at the same time, but at least they had made it to their destination. She was going to fast to notice any funny glances from passerby, and either way there wasn't going to be much of them. It was still a bit early in the morning, and the Espurr believed most Pokemon would be just waking up.

When she thought it was safe to dismount, Migna loosened her grip on Aries's handlebar horns. She quickly had to grab them again as the kid gave another bounce. She waited a few seconds to make sure her future partner had settled down and for her heart to stop racing like it was. She wasn't scared of the trip and was able to stay level-headed, but the way the Sliddo bolted off like that took her by surprise! Finally, after calming down enough, she spoke in her naturally quiet voice.

"Yes, Aries. Unless I am mistaken, we have made it to the guild," the lavender Pokemon said as she carefully dismounted Aries. "Do try to control your excitement while we are here. We should try to make a good first impression."

The trip there had given the Espurr's hurt leg a chance to heal a bit, but that wasn't to say it was completely mended. She was grateful it wasn't too bad, though. Nothing that would hinder her, at the very least. She still made sure to be careful, however.

"Now, shall we head inside? There is no use in waiting," Migna said, turning to the Grass-type. She waved a paw at the direction of the guild's entrance. "I am ready whenever you are."

"I was BORN ready!" the kid boasted, puffing out his chest in a determined face. He had finally gotten himself to stop bouncing and began to walk like a normal skiddo, although it was more of a march since he had to keep himself from leaping up with every step. The skiddo marched into the guild, excited as can be, he stopped though. He had gotten inside and seen a massive amount of pokemon bustling about and crowding around a few bulletin boards. The massive amount of pokemon was a bit overwhelming, not to mention there were quite a few pokemon he had never seen before.
His excitement from before drained away as his ears flew against his skull and his boastful chest deflated as the skiddo seemed to shrink away. All confidence had been replaced with fear.

Migna gave a nod and followed the marching Skiddo into the guild. Although she had passed it numerous times, the Espurr had never actually been inside. She never really had a reason to. Everyone and everything there was new to her and she frowned slightly at the now-raised noise levels. Oh well, she would just have to deal with it for now. The Espurr turned to Aries to see what his reaction was, and then she realized that something was up. He didn't seem to be excited anymore. He looked practically scared, which was a huge difference from how he was from just minutes before.

"Aries? Is something wrong?" she asked, concerned for him. "You seem to be...scared."

So many pokemon! So much noise! It was overwhelming for the small skiddo he had been staring at the mass of pokemon-terrified. The skiddo's ear flicked when the espurr asked him a question, concerned for his well being. He shook his head and spoke, "No, i'm fine!" he gave a nervous smile, hoping to fool the espurr into thinking he was okay. She might now want to be friends with him any more if she found out he was this cowardly! He-
"Well if it isn't the two that nearly killed me this morning!" a familiar voice spoke. The skiddo looked to see a wrumple inching closer towards them. A different pokemon followed behind, a bunnelby, who seemed to have a rather distant but dim look on its face.
The wrumple looked to the skiddo, as if studying the skiddo's face, "HAH! The baby is scared schnitless!" it laughed.
"Am not!" the skiddo retaliated.
"Shut it!" the wrumple growled, giving a glare that made the skiddo flinch and take a step back. The entire experience overwhelming the poor skiddo. It was taking all of his willpower not to turn and run, abandoning the espurr here and fleeing to some corner in Grassveil and bawl.

Migna didn't believe Aries was fine, but she couldn't say something before the Wurmple from before came back. She listed to what it was saying and frowned. That was no way going about things. Why stir up trouble like this? It was needless! The Espurr stepped forward, her normally distant gaze focused on the Bug type. She was going to glare right back.

"Do not even dare," Migna said. "It was an accident on my part, and I am truly sorry for stepping on you, but please, stop picking on my friend over here. I will not stand for this." She didn't want to do any name calling, but deep down she had a feeling that her way of carrying this out would most likely not work. Still, she stood up for the Skiddo anyway and would continue to for however necessary.

"Then sit down and shut up!" the wrumple spoke, as if disgusted with the espurr for standing up for such a cowardly creature like the skiddo, "Why are you two even here? This is the EXPLORATION GUILD for crying out loud, only the strong, such as I, can come here!"
"We want to make a team.." Aries mumbled, his voice quiet and terrified like a child being scolded by his mother.
The wrumple stared at the two before busting out laughing, the bunnelby behind him speaking for the laughing wrumple, "Yeah right! You two wouldn't even stand a chance in Small Pond!"
"But we were just there..." the skiddo spoke, slightly confused.
"We're insulting you idiot," the wrumple growled, "Go home to your mommy and daddy, there's no way Faye would allow a bubbling idiot skiddo an espurr into the guild,"

If anything was happening, Migna was definitely getting angry. No one had the right to pick on such an innocent little Pokemon like Aries. Her ears twitched slightly in annoyance and she stepped a bit closer to the Wurmple. She leaned in, leering darkly at the bug. She poked him in the stomach and said, in a monotone:

"Listen here. Do not pick on my friend. You are just a bug that could easily be the dinner of a Pidgey. If you are meanspirited enough just to bully a Pokemon that is hoping to work to help others, you should not be a guild member in the first place."

The feline stepped back, paws on her hips. "Now, if you will excuse us, Aries and I have some work we need to do. Let us go, Aries," she said, looking at her friend.

The skiddo flinched upon the order to go home, the skiddo took a few steps back, the wrumple's intimidation getting to him. He didn't know where his Mamas or Papa were, how was he supposed to go home? He was about to turn and obey, not wanting to cause more trouble, when the espurr began to speak and ordered the wrumple to keep quiet and stop picking on him.

Aries wondered if he should say anything as the espurr asked him to come with her, he nodded and took a hoofstep towards the espurr when the wrumple and buneary gave a low growl and intimidated the kid once more.

"I said get lost!" the wrumple growled, the darts on its tail end beginning to glow as if it were preparing to attack and seemed to be aiming at the espurr!

Aries, worried for the safety of his friend and deciding to side with his friend in standing up to the bullies since it seemed to be what she wanted to do, stomped his hoof on the ground with a defiant, "No!" The kid had a faint aura of green cloak him as he seemed to grow a bit larger as his hoof stomped the floor beneath them with a loud thud. The skiddo's chest was puffed out as he made himself seem bigger than his Growth attack had made him, causing the leaves on his chest to fluff out slightly and make the skiddo look a little ridiculous.

"Aries, please, we do not need to fight. Let us continue, battling will only make a scene and we are merely guests here. Why should we be kicked out before our journey has even begun?" Migna said, placing a paw lightly on the kid's back.

The Wurmple crawled a bit closer, angry. "Get lost, scram, get outta here!" he said angrily. "If you can't even take on 'dinner for a pidgey', what in the name of the Distortion World do ya' think you're doing on a rescue team? How'll you be able to help Pokemon in danger if you won't even fight me? Pacifism gets you nowhere in this world!"

Migna blinked her large lavender eyes, a slight frown forming on her face. "I have never once said anything about being a pacifist. This fight is just needless. What do you think you will gain by doing this, anyway?"

"Weeeeell.... If it means weeding out weaklings like you from joining the guild, it's totally worth it!" the Wurple answered with some consideration.

Although Migna kept calm easily, her folded ears twitched. Unleashing the energy from them was the last thing she wanted to do, especially in a place like this, but hopefully the action was noted and taken into account.

The wrumple laughed as the espurr's ears twitched, "Was that supposed to be a threat? I know what Espurr can do, but I bet you're too weak to even hold the same amount the others do! You're fresh meat for the pokemon in the dungeons, so unless you want to roll over and get eaten, I suggest you turn around. Last Chance."

Aries was hoping more for intimidation rather than actually attacking the wrumple, but calmed down and shrank once more as the espurr spoke in hopes of not fighting. Where all pokemon in the guild this mean? Why would Migna want to join a place like this? He banished such questions from his mind, if he questioned it then Migna might get mad and stop being his friend. Why couldn't everyone just be friends for Arceus's sake?!
