With the Dandy shop coming, a problem has been run into. Pokemon like the Ralts line, Jinx, Throh, Sawk, Machoke and Machamp, Hitmonchan, Hitmontop, Tyrogue, Hariyama, the Meditite line (possibly), Froslass, and several other pokemon have the appearance of wearing clothes, so much so that fans disagree on whether said "clothing" is removable or not.
On the site is is confirmed that this clothing is NOT removable. However, that brings up another question: What is it?
Some fans believe the Ralt's lines dresses and such are made of white fur, while others believe they're flaps of skin like Scraggy. Several fans believe Machoke, Machamp, Hitmonchan, Hitmontop, and Tyrogue's clothing are actually all skin colorations. Some people think Froslass's clothes are just snow and ice it has wrapped around it's ghost to protect it.
Well, I can't have people saying one Ralts is looking for a fur treatment on it's legs while another person says their Ralts is looking for a skin treatment on it's legs. The only Pokemon I don't think we all probably won't agree upon is the Ralts line, Jinx, and Froslass.
So here're the questions.
1.) Do the Ralts lines clothing consist of Fur or Skin?
2.) Is Jinx's dress Fur or Skin?
3.) Is Froslass's snow/ice kimono-like appearance be seen as Fur or Skin?
Personally the idea of the Ralts line having fur makes more sense than large flaps of skin. With a Ralts, you can see small tuft-like endings on the end of it's white gown. When it evoles into Kirlia, it out grows it's gown and it appears to have a tutu, revealing shorter green fur underneath. When it evolves into Gardevoir, the tutu grows into a long dress, with an undercoat of green fur. When it evolves into a Gallade, the tutu curls inward and becomes Gallade's strange circular hips, the large coat of fur that was on it's legs as a Ralts also begins to regrow, which is why Gallade appears to have wider legs than the other three.
For Jinx...I really don't have an opinion on it. However, the fur would make since as Smoochum appears to be a bit furry itself. When it evolves into Jinx, the fur on it's face and hands falls off, while the small layer of fur it had as a Smoochum becomes darker and gives the appearance of a dress. The white fur on the arms is actually just a thinner undercoat, which is more disturbing now that I think about it, cause now the arms are muscular.
For Froslass, I would consider it fur as it can be removed and regrows. However, if I do consider it skin, then Froslass vaguely reminds me of a ghoul, which would make it's ghost typing more sensible.
Also, if you have an opinion on the other "clothed" Pokemon, please add them to your comments.
