Somewhat of a Detour

Well, I wasn't expecting this. A certain Oshawott thought to herself as she leaned against a tree in the midst of Shadowhue, tossing her shell up and down. Her plan had been to see if anybody wanted to accompany her to Monochrome Ruins, but of course it couldn't be that simple, no, she had to ask a guild member who wanted to take a mission in the area as well. No use worrying about it now. Might as well just get it over with. Avaria decided, watching her scalchop go up and down as she caught it and tossed it over and over. She made sure to listen to her surroundings, wanting to know when one of the two Pokemon would finally show up, or if somebody less friendly would show up.

Nereza made her way towards the dense wooded area not too far away from the town of Grassveil. As she did so, her senses were alert for other Pokemon and dangers, but at the same time her thoughts were more focussed on other things. Had she made the right choice agreeing to go with these two strangers? Why did she always have to doubt herself? These were a few of the things that crossed her mind as she walked. As she drew closer to the woods she took to the skies, much preferring the air to wandering along on the ground where she was weakest.

Sorren ran up to the two pokemon with a Mienshao trying her best to keep up with him.

"Sorry I'm late, Had to track down my client. We will take her to monocrome falls, wich is where we need to go anyway so, yeah." Sorren said.

THe Mienshao beamed at the other two pokemon. her eyes alive with the fire of exploration burning bright. Sorren's eyes were bright with the same fire, but much more dimmed compared to the Mienshao. In any event they were both rearing and ready to go.

"Hello friends! Mienshao is I. Mienshao Is pleased to meet you, She hopes to see the great monochrome falls and meditate on their beauty! " She said excitedly.

"Hey, over here." Avaria called over to the Noibat, glancing up at the air as she heard the sound of wings beating against it and noticing Nereza flying in the area. As she did so the Oshawott tossed her shell up in the air once more, and not watching this time missed it as she heard it hit the ground with a small thud. She sighed, picking it back up and placing it on her front as Sorren came over as well with his client. Who's this with him? I thought we were just-oh, oh no. For fu-
"You didn't mention that this was going to be an escort mission." Ava frowned slightly, keeping a calm tone and holding her massive irritation back.
"Right, well, nice to meet you, uh, Mienshao." The Oshawott responded to the greeting, before glancing at Sorren with a somewhat disappointed look on her face.

The lavender bat pokemon, lost in her thoughts and doubts, had neglected to realise that the two pokemon she would be accompanying into the ruins were on the ground below. Avaria's voice distracted her from those thoughts and she seemed to drop slightly in height, as if she'd just experienced an aerial stumble.
"Right," she replied, though her voice was quiet and only she could have heard it. The Noibat halted in the air before diving slowly down  and  landing neatly on the ground in time to catch the Oshawott calling Mienshao by name.
"Oh.. uhm.. Hi," smiled Nereza quietly. Another pokemon she didn't know; how wonderful.

"We are going to drop her off at the falls, simple, straightforward. it's easier then looking for some lod pokemon or searching for an item right? anyway let's start walking." Sorren said, starting down the trail into the dark forrest.

He realized that Avaria was irritated, but He had no idea why. this mission was really simple. just take someone from point A to point B. if anything she should be happy, they don't have to chew up time looking for a lost item or rescuing a pokemon or tracking down a bad guy.

"As long as we're heading that way, I suppose it all works out." Avaria sighed, nodding her head as she followed Sorren and the pokemon they were escorting. Of all the missions to get stuck doing, she wasn't a fan of escorting others. The idea of having to take someone along with them and make sure they didn't get hurt from anything was, to say the least, annoying in her mind. The Oshawott glanced back, checking to make sure that the Noibat was going to follow them as well.

Nereza merely nodded at Sorren's words. The mission he had taken on really did sound just as simple as he made it out to be; the only things that would change that would be what they encountered on their journey towards the falls. Suddenly feeling Avaria's gaze upon her, the Noibat hurriedly fluttered forwards, overtaking the Oshawott and ending up next to Sorren and the Mienshao he had kindly accepted to escort to Monochrome Falls.

Sorren thought things were going well. He would be able to make some money and earn some rep for doing a job that he was essentially just a glorified walk in the forest, so to speak.

"Mienshao Is fond of stories of adventure! Do Mienshao's escorts have any tales to spin?" Mienshao asked, blissfully ignorant of how Avaria felt about her.

The Oshawott pressed on, keeping up with the other three but staying back somewhat. She listened as the Mienshao broke the silence, asking for any sorts of adventure stories. Well, at least we won't be walking in silence then. Hopefully.
"I've got a story or two, but they're not really that interesting." Ava shrugged as she responded, looking at the other two escorts. "What about you two? Anything of interest to talk about?" She asked, facing the dilemma of wanting them to talk, but at the same time not wanting to talk herself.

The lavender bat pokemon flew quietly alongside the others, hovering just above the ground so she didn't distance herself from the group who were confined to walking. She didn't really have any interesting stories that she was willing to tell, but didn't want to disappoint Sorren's Mienshao client as she seemed so enthusiastic about it. Noting that Avaria was trying to shift the spotlight onto her and Sorren, thus eliminating herself from the storytelling, Nereza quietly replied.
"Well, uh. It's not an adventure I had, but someone told me a story about their adventures a while back," she said quietly, trying to be somewhat helpful but in her eyes miserably failing.

"That soun- OOF" Sorren tried to say, Mienshao knocking him aside.

"Mienshao believes this would be a very good story, please tell it Ms. Noibat!" Mienshao said.

Sorren sighed, He might start to get why people always talk ill of escort quests. He stayed back and let the over excited pokemon do it's thing. He really should have just never mentioned taking up this job, it felt it was going to take forever for sorren to wrap up his adventure with the two girls.

Avaria smirked as she caught up with Sorren, watching as Mienshao eagerly awaited Nereza's story. She moved beside the Torchic, patting him on the back once with her paw.
"Well, that looked like it could have been mildly irritating." She said quietly,trying to speak so only Sorren would hear. "Looking forward to seeing how the rest of this goes. No, really, I am. Ecstatic actually." The Oshawott continued just as quietly, making her sarcasm obvious as she glanced back at him, deciding to try and catch up with his client and Nereza.

"Well, uhm..." the Noibat paused before she began to tell her story. She had heard it by chance after leaving her destroyed home, after meeting with an unfamiliar Grumpig. The Manipulate Pokemon had seen how glum she looked and had attempted to cheer her up with his stories for some absurd reason. Though Nereza had listened to the stories, they had done nothing for her mood at the time and she had merely fallen asleep after the adventurous tales of courage and justice had been weaved to the point of exhaustion. The Grumpig hadn't been there when she'd woken up, so the young Noibat had just moved on, though the stories themselves seemed to stick in her mind.
She hoped the Mienshao would find the stories interesting though, and reiterated one of the most interesting sounding ones to the Martial Arts Pokemon.

A walk in the park so to speak. Sorren was fairly interested in Nezera's story, and the Meinshao seemed ecstatic. It seemed fairly easy considering they were walking through a mystery dungeon. Sorren was happy for the peace. He knew that they were bound to have to fight, but with three Pokemon they should have no trouble defending Mienshao.

Sorren wondered, briefly, if this is what a normal life would feel like.
