PostSubject: Much risk, no reward   Much risk, no reward - Page 5 EmptyThu Jan 02, 2014 4:22 am

First topic message reminder :

It was another cold day in the Icicle Forest, which had not been surprising for William, as practically each and every day in this frozen forest was a cold day.
Still it has been quite some time since he last set foot in this icy wasteland - actually he had never "set foot" here at all, as his last visit happened while he still had the form of a Gastly.
It was only a faint memory, but the Ghost type remembered the name.
Sorren.
Sorren was a Torchic, who had been one of the first Pokémon, who made William question his preconcieved notions and assumptions about Pokémonkind, so he gladly took this mission, even though it didn't promise a reward.
William had isolated himself for an extemely long time and he knew the pains it had caused him all too well. Sorren should not have to suffer the same fate.

Acro swallowed, not in fear of the gengar, but more to regain his own voice from the shock of the sudden outburst. The archen looked to the sniveling torchic, who seemed to be either terrified beyond words or depressed beyond comprehension.
"I-I think we should take him back and get h-him some place warm...m-maybe the cold is g-getting to him? E-Either w-way we can't just l-leave him like this..." The archen finally spoke an idea of his own, since the torchic seemed to be incapacitated through emotions at the moment and would most likely not be able to object to being brought somewhere that was safer, warmer, and less likely to be attacked by some pokemon that could decide that a gengar, archen, and a seemingly unable to move torchic would be a delicious meal, despite it not being able to eat the Gengar most likely.

The tears wouldn't stop. The outside world was fuzzy and distant from inside the frantic mind of Sorren. His uncontrollable sobbing had just made him realize how pointless his training was, which made him sadder and more scared, making a negative feedback loop.

Time didn't matter in this limbo of pain. Thoughts would barely form before being washed away in a torrent of emotions. the cold darkness of the realm would swallow up the Torchic. And he would welcome it.

"Well, we don't have a choice here, do we? If he still wants to live on his own, then we could bring him back after he has calmed down. But I don't think we'd be able to transport him in this state. Just a moment please."
Slowly the Gengar walked over to the bawling Torchic again, his eyes glowing once more while he began to hum an eerie melody, hoping to put the Fire type to sleep by using Hypnosis.
As it had been made rather evident by his outburst, he viewed the entire mission as rather pointless as it had been made clear, that the Torchic had no intention of returning, and attempts to convince him had proven to be unsuccessful. But they couldn't just leave him there...

Although the Archen did not quite agree with putting the torchic to sleep against its will, he had to admit there was no choice. The torchic would probably feel a bit better or at least calmed down slightly after a nap. Acro was uneasy about the whole situation, he was used to search and find/rescue, not convincing someone to come back. Usually the targets were willing to come back, but he had known the torchic was different, he had just hoped that it was something as simple as a stupid mistake of being lost or perhaps the torchic had gone out looking for something and got a bit lost. He kept his trap shut, not wishing to say anything by accident that the torchic might hear and freak out about or feel worse about.

The darkness was calling Sorren, and he was more then happy to go to it. Let it be over. All the pain and suffering, all the wasted time. Just let it be over. Sorren would never be able to best his fear. nothing in the world could help him.

As the final thoughts of his hopeless situation formed, he was whisked away into slumber by the hypnotic eyes of some unknown entity.

"So, I guess we just have to get back to Grassveil now. Shouldn't be too difficult...I hope.", William spoke while lifting up the limp body of the sleeping Torchic, almost looking like a little devil collecting the soul of a fallen Pokémon.
"Now, is there anything I forgot or anything you'd like to do here? If not I'd be ready to leave here. And we should do that before this chicken in both interpretations of the word wakes up again."
There would be a million possibilities for what would happen, once the FIre type would rise from its non-eternal slumber, and the Gengar would prefer for them to be at the guild by then, as distractions in the wilderness could end...badly.

The archen nodded, "We've been here long enough, especially for my liking.." the archen spoke, referring to his seemingly frozen tail. They hadn't been moving too much aside from talking, and the cold was biting into the archen's plumage and skin. Acro looked to the torchic that William carried, hopefully he would stay asleep, it would become problematic if he were to wake up and go berserk. He shifted his feet and give his body a fierce shake to keep his blood flowing. He wished he could fly, then he could fly up and constantly be in motion. They would also get to the guild quicker through the air.

Trying to keep the Fire type out of too much ice and snow, the Gengar levitated slightly above the ground,  beginning to make his way back to reach the Grassveil guild once more. What they'd do there, well...he had no idea.
Hopefully a solution would present itself.
And if not, they could always just get the guy back here again, or ignore him entirely.
As the forest kept stretching on endlessly, always covered in the same blanket of snow, William began to get immensely bored.
"So, anything we forgot to do here? I think our work is done. Or am I mistaken?"

"N-No...I-I think we're done here...e-even if we had anything else to do it would have had to wait..." The archen looked to the torchic the gengar was carrying. He had no idea what the would do once they get to the guild, perhaps Faye could talk some sense into the torchic's mind? Acro followed the purple round ghost with the orange fire-chick, his feet freezing more and more with each step. He wanted warmth, the heat clawed its way out of him to the outside as the cold replaced it. This day seemed to be colder than most strangely, as the archen was usually able to handle the cold fairly well with little complaint.

William luckily did not have to suffer from the cold as much as Acro did, as his typing was much less vulnerable against the freezing temperatures and he was holding the sleeping Sorren, who, despite not actively doing anything, did radiate quite a bit of warmth.
But while the Gengar considered handing the bird to the...other bird, Acro would most likely have trouble holding Sorren, it would not be easy to keep him above the snow and ice and they would be in a worse position, should he suddenly wake up again.
Thus the Ghost type just silently floated on, hoping to reach the guild soon.
