Jeremy was sitting at his desk, amber eyes going over the paperwork as a clock ticked in the background. Time would slowly sound away with a steady, mechanical click with only the occasional rough scrabble of pen and ink or shuffling of paperwork to interrupt the harmony of sound. Some would consider the otherwise silent workplace to be quiet, even boring… But not the Grass Snake Pokemon at the desk doing said paperwork.
After all, this was important. Keeping records was a necessity. He needed to ensure that everything was accounted for and that everything was orderly. Being the leader had its responsibilities. Co-leader or not, Kuro wasn't really suited for this sort of thing, and the leader typically had the responsibilities for running whatever they were in charge of. Jeremy really had no problem with this. In his mind, he was the most suited for the task and everything was right with the world.
As he worked though, his mind would occasionally go back to Shadowhue on their second assignment. Everything was slightly smoother this go around, but there still could have been so many things that could have gone wrong. The male snivy frowned at this thought. He valued control and the ability to predict and plan accordingly. He knew that exploring and doing missions had risk associated with them, but Jeremy hoped that he would eventually be able to adapt. He didn't have his connections here, and everything would fall on him personally if something bad happened.
A knock at door snapped him back to reality, and Jeremy frowned slightly. Kuro typically barged in, so it wasn't her. Putting his paperwork to the side, Jeremy called out, "Come in." |

| Jeremy rubbed his chin thoughtfully as he stared down at the little joltik. "You know, many of those skills will actually come in handy. We have found ourselves taking a lot of bounty missions as of late. The ability to use your small size to scout things and even lay traps will be an invaluable boon." Seemingly musing to himself, Jeremy then shook his head. "No, that won't be necessary. At least right now."
"Third question. What would you consider your greatest weaknesses or fears?" |

| "Uhmm..." Dex mumbled, thinking about the latest questions. "I guess I'm a little... unnerving to some...," he said finally. "Some Pokemon just don't like bugs. And small size can be a disadvantage, too... What if... what if I was stepped on by someone who didn't notice me!?"
Dex, although not horribly afraid of it, didn't want to be stepped on. It sounded like it would hurt a lot, and his little self would probably get squished! Still, possible death did not strike his mind. That subject rarely did.
"Oh, and I guess I'm not that big around water," he added, finishing the question up.

| The snivy nodded... Though he did look questionably at the little bug type as the subject of water was brought up... Almost like an uncomfortable after thought. Things stepping on him, his sudden and (admittedly) unnerving appearance shocking others... But water? It was a common thing that could potentially come up on many assignments.
Perhaps it was something to do with insects in general? Bug types were weak against water based attacks per say, but most had difficulties functioning in it...
"Could you clarify your... Unease with water?" Jeremy asked. "I mean, you are a partial electric type. I don't think you would have a problem with water type pokemon but..." He trailed off, amber eyes gazing at Dex intently. |

| "Well, it makes my fur heavy for one thing. It's so thick and getting it wet really weighs me down... I get kinda sea sick, too..." Dex explained. "Water just isn't my thing, I guess." The Joltik preformed his species' equivalent of a shrug. "It's not the Pokemon, it's the water itself!"
Dex hoped he didn't upset Jeremy to bad. The Snivy seemed a little displeased about the spider's issue with water, after all.

| Jeremy mentally evaluated the information he was presented with before he slowly nodded. Understandable. They would just have to be more cautious in watery conditions. A shame really. Dex would have been invaluable in water environments if they had to face water types. Jeremy supposed he could easily fill in that role though.
"Thats fine. I just thought it necessary to know the specifics. I don't want to force you in such a situation without knowing ahead of time. That wouldn't have been good for anyone involved."
He clears his throat.
"Last question, and perhaps the most important one. What do you think you will bring to Team Magna that will strengthen it overall?" |
