Summer was here to stay near Grassveil for a little longer... Jeremy could feel it, even with Fall supposedly approaching soon. A balmy, humid heat hung in the air like a thick blanket, and the sound of distant, feral ninjasks blared their song in the forests beyond. Green had exploded everywhere from the Spring before, and it seemed the more temperate season was quick to be overwhelmed by the harsh summer.

This particular summer had been an unpredictable, primal one Jeremy noticed. A series of long, heated days followed by sudden storms and downpours that lasted anywhere from a couple minuted to several hours... Causing small flash floods. When the sun shined afterward, it would heat the puddles and rivulets formed and recreate an almost sauna effect.

Yet, Jeremy did not mind this in the least. In fact, he reveled in it. The steady heat and sunshine had made him energetic and more positive as of late, and the humid, wet weather only doubly so. Yes, perhaps Crysel would hate such things, but come winter, no doubt she would make comments about his sluggish grumpiness, so now was the time to enjoy every second of this.

Unlike his usual self, Jeremy would hum cheerfully, a small, assured smirk upon his reptilian visage as he shoulders his pack of supplies for this mission... But it was not just Crysel and him today... To the side of him was a large, rather intimidating figure known as Karla... A Tyranitar. About 6 and a half feet tall, weighing 400ish pounds, and covered in what looked like green, spiky armor. He could make out the strength in her elderly form, could understand that for all intents and purposes... That if she truly did not want to hire guild mates such as himself, she would be able to go out and seek the herbs and berries she searched for.

Karla, as it proved though, was a pacifist and not all that interested in fighting... So she posted a request for some escorts while she did her business. Jeremy was not one to complain... The reward was decently generous and would be helpful in future assignments.

The prince of Blackwood nods politely to the rather imposing, but gentle giant. "Are we ready Ms. Karla? I think I would like to move before late afternoon settles here."

The tyranitar, who wore a wide brimmed straw hat and had an herbal basket strapped around her belly beamed at Jeremy and nodded shyly. "Yes dear... I hoped to find the patch of bitterleafs while they grew this season. We mustn't tarry too long."

Crysel was uncomfortable. It was not the hulking figure of a pokemon from which her discomfort stemmed from. She had already thought of a dozen different ways to stop an attack from the Tyranitar long enough for them to escape. A glare from Jeremy and a weakened ice attack thanks to the heat would give them enough time to run if need be. Though it was unlikely this pokemon would turn hostile, Crysel was a thinker. Instinct dictated that this pokemon had aggression inside her and she would not be caught unprepared if things went south.

Crysel was uncomfortable because of the heat.

Her body was made to survive in tundra environments. This was chiefly due to the thick fur on her body. It trapped heat in, making it harder for the cold to leech it away. In this heat, it made her sweat. The only reason she wasn't passed out was the two yellow gems on her body. They provided cold, to strengthen the power of her ice type moves. They were dropping her temperature levels to a more manageable level. Of course, it could only do so much, hence the discomfort. That was why Crysel wanted to get done as quick as possible.

In the spirit of wanting to put this heat behind her, Crysel decided to try to expedite the process. "Well since you know the most, you outta know where they grow or at least the area they are in. How about you lead us there and we'll search the general area. Better than randomly searching."

The tyranitar turns rather nervously to the more wild counterpart of Team Magna. Shifting nervously a few steps towards the forest, she then cranes her thick, saurian neck towards the sharp clawed mammal. "They like lot of shade hun. With wetter soil... So they are going to be a bit deeper in the forest. But I'm not a fighter much... S'pite my appearance. So I hope you two know what you are doing..."

The Grass Snake Pokemon, who seems unusually cheerful and full of energy tilts his proud head upwards and declares with some pomp, "You need not fear. I have braved these forests many a time already and we have had no extended problems. We will find what you are looking for and we can receive our pay afterwards. Come Crysel!"

Jeremy starts trotting off into the forest edge, a strange fire in his amber eyes. Karla meanwhile smiles, a clawed hand touching her muzzle as she stifles a small giggle.

It was lucky Crysel had a lot of patience. Jeremy's perky attitude would have annoyed a less tolerant over heated pokemon. She was pretty silent as they walked. Going to the shadier part of the forest would be good for her. Direct sunlight naturally made it hotter, by like five degrees. Shade made it about five degrees cooler. That gave a difference of ten degrees. Despite Karla's assurance that she was not a fighter, Crysel would not let her hidden guard down. Maybe she was a bit over careful, a bit paranoid? Though that might keep them alive longer in the wild if she trusts nothing. Every group needed someone that worried about things that were potentially dangerous.

It was true, the perky attitude and the (thoughtless) confidence the snivy displayed showed a definite alteration on his part. This warm weather and clear, sunny days revitalized his hybrid reptilian/plant-like nature. He felt ready. He felt powerful. He felt like he could take on anything.

Unfortunately, besides the almost gagging positivity he bore in contrast to his usual snark and dry tone, this summer weather somehow aggravated his smugness levels... Something normally kept in check his third or fourth time out here. Back when he first came to Grassveil, he thought he could take on anything. When he discovered the (hard) way that he could not, this tempered him. In addition, foreknowledge of his own limits and his cunning mind told him what was an appropriate challenge and what was not.

Since Jeremy FELT powerful more than he THOUGHT he was powerful, he paced within Pecha Forest like a conquerer and gives the impression of one. His haughty, slender face is pointed upward, baleful amber gaze settled upon his plant kin with impervious authority. And that smirk... That smirk never leaves.

So where as Crysel dashes in and out of shaded areas, Jeremy leads the trio, fanned, leafy tail swaying behind him as he declares, "Ha... I WISH a challenger would approach. Like that butterfree for starters... It has been some time since our last meeting, and I bet I could put that INSECT back down in his place. Actually, disregard that statement..." Jeremy states haughtily. "I know I could."

Karla blinks her darkened eyes, looking somewhat uncertain of her guides in one way or the other. None the less she quietly follows, staying somewhat behind everyone in case an attack started.

Jeremy was uncharacteristically happy and confident, a problem in Crysel'd eye. Did the grass type simply forget all the natural dangers? Out of the three of them, Jeremy was the least equipped to defend himself. The forest was filled with bug types, pokemon who had the advantage against him. Their client's body could easily take any normal attacks from the pokemon here thanks to her armor and Crysel's claws were always honed to deadly weapons along with her ice type attacks. Jeremy pretty much had to come up close into dangerous range to those her fought. If anything, Jeremy was the weakest in this situation, not even including other types of pokemon into the equation. The sun making him feel better just made Jeremy more foolish and in danger. Crysel would simply need to pick up the slack.

Eventually that haughtiness may have had to be tested. With the small bit of noise the normally cautious Grass Snake Pokemon made, any dangerous bandits, ferals, or even outright predators might try to take him from the group. It was a good thing that Crysel was keeping an eye out then. Jeremy was too clueless at the moment and their client too timid to do much if something DID happen.

Whether Crysel's sharp, scarlet eyes caught sight of something to help them, foes, or both remained to be seen.

Crysel sighed a bit. "So... Karla, right? Not to be rude, but it seems quite odd that a Tyranitar like yourself prefers to stay away from violence. Looking at you, it seems like you could fend off any pokemon that even looks at you with a glare. In fact, just your tough appearance alone could scare off most pokemon. Is there a reason you are against any fighting?" Crysel was curious. She had always believed the strong used might while the weak ran. Karla was an enigma to her.
