The Bugs' Beginnings

There were so many sights! All of the Pokemon! It was amazing! Choco wondered why he had never decided to come here before.

The various types of Pokemon went by as the Weedle inched along the ground to the guild. He had decided to create an exploration team! When that was done, Choco would train until he was invincible! Then, all of the bad guys would be afraid of Choco, and then Choco would become the greatest hero in the-

"Oomph! Sorry, pal, didn't see you there!" Choco apologized and continued on his way, not even noticing that he had bumped into a tree, and not an actual Pokemon. He proceeded his daydreaming, not paying much attention to what he was doing.

The sights and stalls of Grassveil town were all very new to the Weedle. It was only recently that Choco had known of the existence of the town, when one of Choco's friends told him that he'd be great in an Exploration Team. Choco questioned the friend until he learned that to sign up to be an Exploration Team, he'd need to be approved by the Guildmaster in the Guild in Grassveil Town.

Soon, Choco came upon the Guild. He almost inched right passed it until he noticed that he was going too far. Choco excitedly backtracked to the Guild, and when he had reached the big entrance, he happily crawled right in.

And as soon as Choco entered the Guild, another pokemon followed him. Quickly. Very quickly. Like, it looked more like a green mini-rocket than a Caterpie. And, of course, the rocket 'flew' right into the Weedle, yapping something about "Oh my sweet Arceus Guild jobs Teams partners dangers-OI, WATCH YOUR STEP- I'll be a hero and oh Arceus I'll be in some Team soooo soooooon!" ..Yeah. Something around that.

Anyway, after getting up and scolding the poor, innocent Weedle, Pokkoji rushed forward, squeaking, still yapping and then running around the Guild, looking at everything, and probably bumping into more pokemon. Because hey! He was going to join a Team in a while, and he'll have a new room, new friends, new liiiife! That totally justified his excitement! ...Right?

Oh, wait, there was something called a 'Guildmaster', wasn't there?
"..Where's the Guildmaster?" And the Caterpie stopped in place and looked around, spotting Choco again. "Do you know where he can be?" Hey, Pokko. You know. Apologies are a thing. Yes. YES THEY ARE.

As Choco got up, he looked around for that green blur that had went past him. It was gone.

"Huh. Strange. Must be a Ghost type or something... Maybe a Ghost type that'll be one of my enemies one day! And then we'll have an epic battle and then I'll defeat it and I'll be famous and..." Choco's voice eventually turned into thoughts.

As Choco continued the new story about ghosts, he heard someone asking him something. Choco turned around until he spotted a Caterpie looking at him. Huh. I'm a Weedle, that's a Caterpie... What a coincidence, Choco thought.

"Do you know where he can be?", the Caterpie had asked. Choco had no idea of who exactly "he" was supposed to be, so he answered with a short, "No."

Choco inched toward the Caterpie. Wow, a Caterpie! Maybe we can form an Exploration Team together, a Weedle and a Caterpie! That would be perfect! And then we could possibly go on journeys and save people and have fun... These thoughts ran in Choco's mind as he approached the Caterpie.

The Caterpie frowned (and it looked rather silly) as the Weedle got closer. "Uh? What is that?" He raised the end of his tail and started to shake it around, lowering his head. Kinda like a rattlesnake. But without rattling.

"Do you want to fight? I can fight." ...Though wait. Fighting in the middle of the Guild.. what if this 'master' comes in right now? And he sees them fighting? And he won't allow any of them to join the Team later?! Gasp! Pokko couldn't let that happen! So he stopped trying to stay in some weird battling pose and instead he straightened his back and looked away. So now a royal-like pose. "Though no. I'm not going to fight." He was BEYOND IT. At that moment.

Before he started to think that maybe a fight would prove his strength and all that, Pokko eyed the Weedle, arching an eyebrow. ..Not sure if Caterpies have eyebrows, but eh. "So, do you want to do something else than fight? Why are you there? You know, rescuing Teams are for brave, strong pokemon who are above their own fears. Like me." Obviously. "Are you here to join a rescue Team, too?"

"Yeah! I'm here to join a rescue team too! One day I'll be famous and part of the best rescue team ever!" Choco wondered if he could accomplish this dream by teaming up with the Caterpie. I seemed like a plausible idea. A Weedle and a Caterpie, defeating monstrous beings everywhere and spreading happiness galore!

"Hey, hey, what's your name? Do you want to go form an exploration team together?" Choco was pumped with energy. The sheer excitement of the possibility of forming an exploration team with this Caterpie was practically emanating off of Choco. Choco started to jump at the thought of that.

Choco's mind wandered off to a funny picture. Huh, what about when we grow up to be Metapods and Kakunas? What can we exactly do in that stage? But those were worries for later. For now, Choco first had to anticipate the Caterpie's response.

"Oh, my name is Pokkoji. You may call me Pokko!" He waggled the end of his tail around. It probably meant happiness. Or something. "And you? And, uh.." ..A Team with Weedle? Pokko glanced at Choco's spike. ...Well. He had something to fight, that's good. He also looked eager to explore and help people. And Pokkoji saw a Weedle family once. There was a big bee among them.. Ayup. He'd be a fine bodygu- sidekick! Right!
"Sure thing! We'll make an awesome Rescuing Team!"

And then Pokko narrowed his eyes, eyeing the Weedle again. A grumpy face has been made. "..But I'm the Leader." A longer pause. "..And, again, we need the Guildmaster to form a Team... like, officially, right?" Caterpie started looking around again.

Wandering through the halls of the guild, Faye the Meganium eventually came upon two young Pokémon she had never seen before. Obviously they were new to the guild.
With a warm smile spread out across her face, the guildmaster approached the two Bug types, asking:
"Hello, dearies! My name is Faye. Is there anything I can help the two of you with?"

"Hi, Pokko! I'm Chocolatio, but you can call me Choco! Wow, we both have five letters in our nicknames! Cool!" Choco was excited. He was going to be in a Rescue Team! He couldn't care less if he was the team's garbage monitor, he was in a Rescue Team!

Choco noticed the Meganium coming. She asked if there was anything she could help him and Pokko with.

"Yeah! We want to form an exploration team at the guild!" Choco energetically said. Choco started to slightly use his energy by little movements. However, since he was a Weedle, even the tiniest movements made it seem like Choco was dancing or going crazy.

The Caterpie just stared at the big herb pokemon, eyes widened. Though Caterpies' eyes are usually wide. ..Uh, right?
But yeah. This pokemon looked like a big, big Chikorita. In fact, he thought, he had seen it before. ..But hey! No fear! It wasn't going to throw him up in the air in the middle of the Guild, right?
That's probably one of the dumbest fears you could have. Fear of being thrown by a Meganium.
"..Ah, yeah! We're.. we're here to form a Team!" Pokko shuffled forward, looking up into Meganium's eyes, his eyelids slightly trembling. DON'T SHUT YOUR EYES, FOOL. Not nooow. "And.. nothing's going to stop us!" His tail quivered. Now it's going to attack him, right?
He felt so embarassed right now. And he wanted to be a Leader? Silly Pokko. Leaders don't fear anything. ESPECIALLY not in front of their soon-to-be-partners.

The Meganium chuckled.
These two seemed to be quite the interesting duo indeed.
"Very well, dearies. Please just follow me, so I can get the two of you signed up. Don't worry, it shouldn't take long at all."
With these words Faye turned away from the duo again, walking a short distance towards her quarters before stopping again to turn around and look, whether the Bug types were actually following her.

"YEAH! I'm going to be in an exploration team!" Choco was so excited, he almost went in the wrong direction. Luckily, he quickly noticed his mistake and started following the Guildmaster.

"I can't wait!" Choco rocketed ahead of the Meganium, although he had absolutely no idea where he was supposed to go. He just followed his instincts until he realized he was too far ahead; he soon returned to the Guildmaster at a regular pace.

And the Caterpie just followed the other green pokemon, his eyes narrowed, suspiciously examining the Meganium. He did not trust that seemingly calm and optimistic creature. He DID NOT.
Silly bug.

Finally the two Pokémon had reached the guildmaster's quarters.
The room was barely furnished, a few bookshelves adorning the back wall, while a variety of differently-sized bags were hanging from another wall. The center of the room was filled out by a large, wooden desk, four chairs in front of it and one behind it.
Other than that, there was nothing of note to be found in the Meganium's quarters except for the different potted plants standing around.
Entering, a motherly Faye began the signup process by retrieving a rather large tome from one of the bookshelves while asking:
"Well, to start I would need your names, dearies."

"Well, I'm Choco, Faye! Nice to meet you!" Choco started to be happy. This was an ecstatic moment for him! Choco was visibly vibrating and shaking out of excitement, although one could've taken it to be shaking out of nervousness.

"Ooooooo, cool, a tome! It looks so awesome!" Choco said as he stared at the tome that Faye had picked up. He hoped that future treasures he would gain looked like this tome.

"Pokkoji." And that was pretty much his whole input into this conversation after entering the Guilmaster's Quarters. How talkative.
After saying that, Pokko looked around, his big eyes narrowed, little red antenna-horn-things twitching. Slowly, he shuffled over to one of the potted plants and observed it for a looong minute before starting to nibble on one of lower leaves. His eyes were now locked onto Faye. ...Nom.
Oh, and THEN he noticed a pretty big and probably old book. He sprang up, his antennas twitching once more. "And that?" He tilted his head and leaned in to examine the tome. "What is that book for?"
He'll take care of that leaf later.
