Sea Spark sighed deeply. It had been a couple days since the strange Pony had left home, which meant a couple days without torment, but at the same time without any love or social interaction. She had currently found refuge in a lake she found and decided to call it her temporary home. The cool water felt good, and the half-Sea Pony stayed mainly underwater to hid from the strong wind above. She wished that she never would need to come to the surface again. Like the wind, the other fillies and colts - and even some full grown ponies - were cold and harsh to her because of her differences.

Why couldn't she have friends like that one group of ponies from Ponyville that have made headlines more than once with their Equestria-saving adventures? Was being in Canterlot the problem? Almost everyone there was rich and snooty and pretty and popular and perfect! Thy all had such nice homes, history, and family. They had their groups of friends, but Sea Spark was a nobody that was usually ganged up upon and teased because of her strange fins, weakness, and lack of cutie mark. She seemed less alone now than she did back "home", even though here there was nobody else... This was one of the times she had wished to go with her Sea Pony mother and not her royal guard father. She'd definitely fit in more confined to a life at sea with other ponies like her... but what if they teased her for her Unicorn half? Sea Spark almost shed a tear thinking about it, though it would of been carried into the lake water anyway. If she began to cry now, then the lake would probably rise and flood the countryside! I have to be strong... and explore the surface, like my mother couldn't! she said to herself in an attempt to cheer herself up.

She noticed another pony approach the shore of "her" lake. Would she say hi or...

Out of curiosity, Sea Spark popped her head above the surface to more clearly see the other pony. He seemed to be a colt. She quickly sunk back into the water, hoping she wouldn't be seem by this traveler.

Zealous Oath jumped when he saw something strange within the waters, "AH!" he cried once more and jumped back a foot. He stared at the water, he had seen a horn of a light orange color. He wondered if it was some kind of Narwal. He shook his head, no way did that creature even exist, even if they did they existed in the ocean. Zealous Oath stared at the water more, the moving waves were almost hypnotic and the water that was disturbed by the creature had regained its calm movement. He continued to stare in the exact spot though, in case the creature decided to pop back up to say "Hello." The foal blinked, was he imagining things or was something exciting finally happening?!

The soft sound of wings flapping in the air, the darker shadow flying overhead. This would seem normal...until someone decided to look up.

Warding Aegis's wings flapped downwards quickly once more,  as the stallion tried to increase his altitude. If I was a Pegasus pony then maybe it wouldn't be such a shock to most ponies that I exist he thought annoyedly as a random Earth Pony looked overhead and apparently seemed shocked at the Bat Pony's existence. If they are so uneducated that they don't know what a Bat Pony is, then they should just disappear. Surely Equestria could use smarter ponies than this Sure, maybe the Earth Pony just thought that he was supposed to be with Luna, but it's more likely that he would expect a Pegasus in any case. Even the thought of the returned ruler made his face turned into a scowl. If we were supposed to be her guard, wouldn't she care about us to let us do what we actually want? The dark forest's cool air threw him out of his thoughts, and he thanked the shadows which wouldn't interfere with his natural night (or in this case darkness) navigation abilities, which felt better and more natural than in the sunlight. This wouldn't be a bad place to live actually... he began to think closing his eyes and using his echolocation to see instead, It's just to bad that there aren't any caves around here or something...

Suddenly he felt a huge rush of wind, which was undetectable by the sound waves, and he scrambled to get his eyes open, flapping desperately to get out of the almost tornado like blast, even though he knew it was to late. Tumbling downwards Aegis vaguely could barely differentiate the blue lake between the blue sky, and then with an almost final splash, the midnight colored pony submerged into the icy water like a dark comet, now being protected from the howling wind, but experiencing new dangers. Having no ability to sense in the water where and what things were, he began to thrash around, attempting to surface, to regain his slowly depleting air supply.

(Ali will come later, but for now have fun with a drowning Aegis /shot)

Sea Spark was about to pop back up after this other foal had calmed down and said hello, but stopped as a big whatever-it-was fell from the sky and landed near her. It seemed to be another pony; most likely a stallion. And he seemed to be drowning! The Half-Sea Pony almost paniced, but knew she had to save this Pegasus. At least she assumed it was a Pegasus. It must've been able to fly to fall undetected like that. Sea Spark swam under the pony and began to rise in hopes of bringing the drowning stallion back to the surface. It was only then that she realized this Pegasus had.... bat wings? That was odd, but the strange filly was used to odd things; she was an odd thing herself!

The foal merely stared as a bat-pony was lifted up from the water by a strange unicorn. What in flying porcupines was going on here? Zeal was excited though, something interesting was happening! Where these ponies here to tell him to go on some epic quest for adventure? Was he going to save Equestria single hoofedly? Zeal's mouth dropped at the excitement, and his eyes widened, ADVENTURE WAS IN THE AIR!
