| Subject: Pokémon of the Week Contest Rules Mon Jul 29, 2013 1:00 am | |
| The Pokémon of the Week contest is an art competition where each week a specific Pokémon is selected. Artists are challenged to draw the selected Pokémon in whichever method they prefer, traditionally or digitally, for a 500 poké prize. Entries are accepted from Monday to Saturday, with judging taking place on a Sunday. -Competition Rules-
- All entries and entrants must abide by all normal site rules.
- All entries must be your own original art. Do not submit someone else's art or an edited version of someone else's art. Most importantly, do not ever attempt to pass another person's art off as your own.
- Do not try to influence a judge's decision in any way. Their opinions and decision should be their own.
- There can be other Pokémon within the picture you draw, but the named Pokémon of the Week must be the main focus.
- All entries must be PMed to BlueKat12 with a title so she can add them to that week's thread and also prevent biased judging.
- Do not reveal if a piece of art is yours until after the judging has taken place.
- The piece of art you submit for the contest must have been drawn for the contest. You cannot use old art that you just had lying around. You have a week to work on it.
- There can only be one entry per person for each week's contest.
- The winner of a week's contest cannot enter the contest the following week. They are however welcome to participate in judging for that week instead.
- Gijinkas and the like should not be used in a picture, even if it is a gijinka of the Pokémon of the Week. Drawings should be a reflection of the actual design of the Pokémon in the artist's own style, not as a re-depiction of it as a half-human.
-Rules Concerning Judging-
- Those listed as judging on a week cannot enter a piece of artwork that week. If they decide not to judge the following week however, they are perfectly eligible to enter a piece then.
- Judges must reach a unanimous decision. There cannot be more than one winner per week.
- Those applying for judging should apply the week before rather than during the week of a contest.
- There can be up to five judges a week, with a minimum of two judges per week.
- Judges will have to reapply for a judging position each week, unless they opt to be a permanent judge.
- There can be up to three permanent judges. None of these slots are currently filled.
- If a judge misses a Sunday's judging without prior notice they will be banned from judging for the next two weeks, or in a permanent judge's case, also removed from the permanent judging pool.
-Consequences-
Those not heeding these rules will find themselves immediately banned from the contest for a duration that varies depending on which rule is broken. Please note that any plagiarism will result in a permanent ban from the competition, as well as a strike against your site account. | |
