Werewolf/Mafia - A forum game.

First topic message reminder :

It has come to my attention, that this forum had been lacking a thread for the game Werewolf, also known as Mafia up to now. Thus, I've decided to launch one of them.

Werewolf Rules:

At the beginning of a round of Werewolf, all participating players will be assigned a role, which will be determined randomly. Most players will be Villager roles, while there will be a small number of Werewolves and other roles as well, depending on the size of the game.

There are two alternating phases, a Day phase and a Night phase.
The game starts in a Day phase. In this phase, all players can communicate freely with one another. All players can vote for a player to lynch or to perform no lynch for the day.
Should a previously set amount of time (usually 2-3 days) have passed, the player, who has recieved the most votes, will be lynched and thus removed from the game. Their role will be revealed for all to see. Should a player recieve the absolute majority of votes before the time is over, the day ends immediately with that player lynched.
A lynched player can not participate in the current round anymore, including talking.

As the Day phase ends, the Night phase begins. In it, talking is not allowed.
The Werewolves use PMs to talk to each other and agree on a player to kill.
This target will then be PMed to the host of the game by one of them.
Other roles with abilities, that can be used during the night PM the host, which player they want to target, if they want to do so at all.
After the host has recieved targets from all roles capable of targeting or a previously set amount of time has passed (usually 1-2 days), the Night phase ends, and all dead players will be revealed, including their roles. As the night ends, another Day phase begins.

This cycle continues, until either the Villagers or the Werewolves have achieved their victory condition.

The Roles:

Villager: The Villager is the most common role. Villagers only know their own role in the beginning. They have no powers aside from the right to vote for a player to lynch in the Day phase. They are aligned with the Town Faction and thus win, should all Werewolves die.

Werewolf: The Werewolves are the antagonists of the game. While there are few of them, every Werewolf will recieve the names of the other Werewolves per PM at the beginning of a round. Not only can they vote for a player to lynch in the day phase, but they can agree on a player to kill in the Night phase as well. They are allowed to communicate between themselves using PMs. They are aligned with the Anti-Town Faction and win, should they outnumber the Town Faction.

Alpha Wolf: Functions exactly like a normal Werewolf, but shows up as a Villager, should it be investigated by the Seer.

Doctor: The Doctor is a Villager with a special ability. There will only be one Doctor in a round. The Doctor can vote on a target to lynch in the Day phase. In the Night phase, it can PM the host a player to protect. Should that player be the target for the Werewolves to kill that night, the kill will fail. The Doctor can protect itself. Since it is aligned with the Town Faction, it wins, should all Werewolves die.

Seer: The Seer is a Villager with a special ability. There will only be one Seer in a round. The Seer can vote on a target to lynch in the Day phase. In the Night phase, it can PM the host a player to investigate. As the next Day phase begins, the Seer will be told the role of the investigated player with a PM. Since it is aligned with the Town Faction, it wins, should all Werewolves die.

Vigligante: Can choose a player to kill every night, but doesn't have to. Wins with the Town Faction.

Serial Killer: Can choose a player to kill every night, but doesn't have to. Wins, should everyone else be dead.

Lovers: Always at least two players. Should one of them die, the other one commits suicide. All Lovers know of the innocence of their loved ones. They can talk with each other per PM. They win with the Town Faction.

Jester: Wins, should it be lynched. Loses, should it survive or die for another reason than being lynched.

Other Roles: While many other possibilities for roles exist, I'll keep it simple at first and only use these roles. Should I add another one for a later round, I'll explain it.


Voting: Every player has exactly one vote for each Day phase.
To vote, please use the following format:

Vote: Playername

If you would like to withdraw your vote, use the following format:

Unvote: Playername

You can cast your vote onto another player, should you withdraw your first vote.

Should there be a two-way tie, the lynched player will be determined randomly.
Should one of the tieing parties be No Lynch, the Lynch will happen.
Should there be a three-or-more-way-tie, no lynch will happen.


I will now wait for participants. Should we get enough participants, I will start the round and send out the role PMs.

Yes, I do believe we shold stop voting to not lynch anyone. We need to break things down.

Maybe we should all post who might be an android and go from there. I'm not going to say anythibg more, but perhaps if we could agree on who is suspicious we can go from there.

Notice how pretty much all the people killed during the night all weren't that big of contributors to the theories we have on who to lynch. They usually just casted their vote and might have contributed a little, but that was it. This could be a mere coincidence or a strategy, and by saying this I might just break the pattern up, but this is really up to the androids. I'm really not pointing my finger yet, but I find this pattern quite interesting. Also note that 2 of the 3 people who have been killed were special players. It could be luck, or I just could be overthinking things.

Continuing to vote no lynch is merely just prolonging the fact that the werewolves will end up killing us all, so Acti's right, we need to start focusing and work out exactly who are werewolves/androids and start eliminating them before we end up outnumbered by them.

With that in mind i'm going to go with what I said previous round and Vote: Ant again.

Headphone, I'm going to assume that it's a strategy for preventing any suspicion from falling upon anybody.
Therefore, I'm going to Vote: Jax. It's more than obvious that he's simply observing all that's going on here, never (as far as I can see) contributing that much. While it's possible that he's simply just a villager watching as this all plays out, it's just as possible that he's attempting to avoid any suspicion by taking the role of an outsider, never making any enemies through voting, nor giving any real reasons for doing so for people to pick apart.
Mind, this doesn't mean that I HIGHLY suspect him of being a wolf. Hell, I kind of doubt that he is one! It's just that I don't see anybody else being a wolf for now (which is a problem, since there are TWO wolves. :|).
... Actually, thinking about it, Kat is also a suspect here; she's also hardly given any contributions to this game, instead going straight for NO LYNCH every time without proper justification.
Anyway. I digress; I'm voting for Jax.

Ant, I actually laughed when I saw you voted for me. I was waiting for someone to do it. I wasn't sure who it was going to be, but I suppose you're as likely to suspect me as anyone else.

Well personally I feel as if Kat is being a bit more... Secretive? Is that a good word for it? Eh... Personally although Ant did do a few things yesterday, I believe he's a bit innocent. But Kat, I just find her suspicious... so... Vote: Kat

Edit: Actually I feel as if she's voting no lynch for every time that it's the main one. THe first two days everybody voted no shooting, ('Cept me as I was absent the first day and voted for Kat the second) and yesterday she was the last person to determine a majority vote. Let alone that. We all know that it was the third day. THe first day you don't have to read much before voting. Second is iffy depending on the first day's outcome. But the third day is the one you don't vote then go check stuff. So I see it as an invalid excuse I'm afraid.

Seriously? I'm being voted because of my need to sleep? -_- I've been up all night lately with Serene, Flamewolf, Xeyrd, ect. the past few nights, and you expect me to stay up even longer just to vote on here?

As for last post I was PO'd at my parents for not waking me up AND going out and not so much as leaving a note. I didn't think that the vote would have made the majority because like I said I was too irritated to read.

Ant seems to be right about Jax, he's not doing...anything...(but I don't know if he's been online and not just SLEEPING like i was.) but he could just be trying to keep out of it and stay alive so if it came down to the line like last time in some unknown universe we would have a chance.

Ant has been very active like he usually is, but Jax could be just trying to play it safe and keep alive. I'm not too sure on him, but I have to admit. Suspicious.

Vulpes hasn't been doing anything but No Lynch, but once again I don't freaking know who the hell has been online or not, though he has been able to vote. He could be voting no lynch so the suspicion won't go on him as much.

Serene seems innocent, seeing as she hasn't given any evidence to suspect that she is a werewolf.

Actor seems innocent for the same reason as Serene(but if these two end up being the werewolf they are either VERY lucky or they're extremely good and we should all be afraid

Well then if you want to be all so offended by a vote of something that was an easy understanding go ahead...  Anyways... We seem to be at a draw between quite a few people... No shooting is bound to happen... I'm afraid I may change my vote to Jax. I could sit here and explain it but I don't feel like doing that right now... I do ask, if a seer is about to be voted off. Jax you've been doing a lot of joking and not so much strategizing. Overthinking is making me feel like crap, so I'm going with my gut and saying Vote: Jax

Wonderful reasoning you all have here. Yes, that's right... Give in to your hate, your fear, your paranoia. Just as I predicted...

After a lot of discussion, the day was about to end, so the Test Subjects simply decided to eliminate the most unpopular of them by bashing his head in with an office chair.
What was left of Jax however, didn't look mechanical at all. While there were no indications of him having had any ability, that might have helped the team, he definitely was organic.

Jax the Test Subject has been lynched. It is now Night. The Night phase will last 48 hours from the time this post was made or until I have recieved all relevant PMs.

A new day began (at least probably, since you can't see the sky) and the Test Subjects left their hypersleep capsules once more.

What they found was SereneLittleRose kneeling on the floor, coughing heavily while trying to speak.
"I *cough* I know, who *cough* they *wheeze* are! The androids are...!"
Just as she tried to finish her sentence, she collapsed on the floor, bleeding out of every orifice.

SereneLittleRose the Seer has been killed. It is now Day. The Day phase will last 48 hours from the time this post was made or until a majority of 3 votes have been placed on one option.
