The day was a dark one in the Shadowhue Forest, although that wasn't anything special for this place. The thick cover of leaves, twigs and branches on the tall trees almost completely blocked out the sun, only a few rays of sunlight broke through the blanket of darkness, illuminating the area and creating tiny bright spots on the forest ground. As they partially lit up the omnipresent shadows, the resulting lights of various tones and hues made the forest look almost surreal. And through this surreal forest, a lone figure wandered. It was wearing a black cloak with a hood, so its features weren't discernible. However, as it moved on its path, it didn't make a single sound, not leaving a single twig in its wake. The only sounds were a soft wind rustling the leaves and a strange mumbling, apparently coming from the figure. While it was difficult to understand, single phrases might be heard by anyone nearby. "...why..." "...deserve this..." "...have I done..." "...traitors..." "...fear and hate..." "...I was right...they were right..." | |

| As the Rosalia suffered from the licking, Nicholas readied another Ice Shard, but somehow, the grass type was quicker. Before Nick even knew what was going on, some familiar looking purple spikes flew at him. They didn't cut very deep, but some managed to stick into him. The pain felt weird to him. It wasn't your common pain, from this, the Delibird knew he was probably in some kind of trouble. His vision was a tab blurred now and again, and he felt kind of dizzy. "W-william...I don't feel so good." The bird hoped to get an answer from his spiritual companion as he hugged himself. He felt cold, not the usual way he always felt though, but in some oddly different way that he decided was not good. | |

| "Uh...I think you have been poisoned. I'm just guessing, though.", the Ghost type responded, his secondary type making him immune to poison. "If you have a Pecha Berry, I would use that. Now to finish this..." Using his normal attack, William charged straight at the Roselia, knocking it into a tree and apparently unconscious as well. Since it didn't pose a threat for the moment, William floated over to the injured Delibird. "Are you alright?" | |

| With Rosalia defeated, Nick started to pull the spikes out of himself. He was a little slow, but he was getting it done none the less. "I-I don't have any berries." The bird was starting to panic. For now the only signs of this were his expression and the tone of his voice, but they were dead giveaways. "I don't have a Peacha berry. W-what do I do!? How bad is the poison!? Oooooh... I feel sick..." The bird sat on the ground, trying desperately to calm done and regather his energy that the poison was slowly sipping away. | |

| "You shouldn't panic. That would widen your blood vessels, increase the blood flow and quicken the spreading of the poison." While William wasn't the best Pokémon to calm someone down, he still tried. "It doesn't look too serious. You'll probably make it. You just need to wait, until the poison has been removed from your body. After that, there is a high chance, that you'll be able to keep all your organs intact. After all, that Roselia was a weakling in comparison to the many other, far more dangerous Pokémon, that roam...I'm not really helping, am I?" | |

| The bird tried to follow Will's advice, taking some deep breaths to calm come. As the ghost continued to speak he calmed Nicholas down... until about the end of the dialogue. You just had to remind him that there's worse out there, didn't you Will? At that moment, Nick's breathing was quicker and he started to feel worse, hugging himself tighter. Luckily, the avian managed to rearrange his thoughts, getting the ghost's words out of his heads, at least enough to get him to a sensible state of mind. The Delibird looked over to William, trying to give a smile. "I-it's... ok... I'll... be fine..." Nicholas tried to stand up, but ended up stumbling around a bit before collapsing back onto the ground. He then tried to ensure Will again with another attempted smile. | |

| "Urgh...I guess we'll be stuck here for a bit.", William complained. While he would have loved to storm forward to destroy the Timburr, rationally thinking they would have better chances by waiting for the Delibird's recovery. Bullying was an unvorgivable crime in William's eyes, but being reckless could endanger the mission and prevent the two of them from saving the Geodude. Thus, William silently floated around, watching the leaves move in the wind. | |

| The Delibird kept his sitting position for now as he looked to the ground. Though he knew it wasn't truly his fault, Nick couldn't help but feel a hint of guilt for getting his injury and slowly the duo down as a result. After a thought came to him, the bird slowly started to lift himself up. It looked as though a sudden gust of wind was all it would take to knock him back down, but somehow, he managed to stay on his feet. "W-well... if we... need to rest... we should at least look somewhere else... what if the Rosalia... wakes up?" The bird was still holding himself and shivering a little. He swayed a little, probably through lack of usable strength to hold himself up. | |

| "Then I'll just knock it back down. You shouldn't move that much yet. After all, you might fall and break a bone or something. Staying here seems to be the more logical solution to me. Furthermore, moving increases the heart rate, which in turn increases the spreading of the poison. And should we meet another Pokémon, you might get even more seriously injured. And should we find the Timburr, we wouldn't be able to attack it at full strength. If we fail here, the next time it will be prepared and even more difficult to defeat." While the waiting was still boring, at least the listing of arguments had given the Gastly something to do, an opportunity he had gladly taken. | |

| "...Well...ok...if you way so..." The bird half sat, half fell onto the ground, feeling less adiquit by the moment. "W-william... I know you... don't really want to... talk about it... but y-you seem to... be scared... of being with others... I don't know... if I can... do much... but if I can, I'll be... more than happy to." He tried to give another smile to William. He knew he was scooting close to a social boundary line of sorts, but the Delibird really wanted to help this Gastly with whatever problem he may have, and he'd probably have to take a risk or two to do it. | |

| The Gastly sighed. Of course it had tocome to this topic... "I'm not scared of being with others. It's the other way around. Everyone else is scared of being with me. And that is all I am going to say about it. Thank you for your offer, though. I've tried, but there's nothing to be done." Even though he appreciated the Delibird's wish to help, this kind of behaviour was beginning to annoy William. Every Pokémon, that had lasted for a few minutes in his presence before running away screaming, had felt the need to try and get involved with everything, believing, that they'd be some magical saviour, who could fix any problem. And in the end the problems were still there, but the Pokémon were gone, having made themselves part of the problem as well. | |

| "...Oh... o-ok..." the bird looked down, a little disappointed by the wall he seemed to run into. "Sorry... I didn't mean to accuse you of anything... I'm sorry about that." The bird was aware of how rejection felt, even if not as much as the ghost he was around. Nicholas was bully as a child for his weakness. Although he didn't show it right now, and although he was sure how, Nick was now motivated more than before to somehow get William accepted into the world he avoided. For now, casual conversation would probably be fine. "So... what do you... usually do around here?" The bird was feeling better, or at least he wasn't feeling worse. He was still dizzy and all though. | |

| "Floating around, reading, meeting others, who then run away screaming, meething others, who are trying to kill me and then run away screaming...the usual, I suppose. After all, there isn't much to do here, is there?" Listing the few things he did made William see, how boring his lfe was again. But he knew, that he couldn't do anything about it. Pokémon can't change. Because of that, society can't change. And because of that, his situaltion can and would never change. | |

| "K-k-kill you!?" The bird was in shock, forgetting about his sickness for a moment. "That's horrible! I mean, you seem pretty nice... Maybe a little depressing... but still nice. You didn't do anything bad, did you?" The expression on his face seemed to show some combination of curiosity and concern before his eyes widened and he turned away. He spoke again, sounding ashamed this time. "S-sorry... you probably don't wanna talk about that huh?" | |

| The Gastly sighed again. "No, I didn't do anything. But others think I will. My species doesn't look that friendly, so some self-proclaimed heroes occasionally come here, trying to stop me. It's crazy what looks can do, isn't it?" Why was the Delibird that curious? That information wouldn't help him at all, so asking seemed to be a pointless waste of time. "I don't care about talking about it. It's not going to solve anything, so I prefer not to, though." | |

| Nicholas nodded, looking pretty sad now. No, he wasn't crying, but he certainly wasn't smiling neither. "Y-yeah... I guess it kinda is. I-I'm sorry... I know it isn't really my fault and all... b-but you really shouldn't be suffering like this... Y-you're a nice Pokemon... and I know you don't think... anything can be done about it... but if you change your mind... I-I'll help... any way I can." Nick stood up, feeling a lot stronger now. His face now showing a firm determination. "I feel better now. We should keep going." He walked forward, before halting in his tracks and turning to William, smiling sheepishly. "Actually... I don't know the way... so... could you lead?" A small chuckle escaped his beak. | |
