Our story starts in a town named Stormveil. Here, it is always cloudy, rainy, wet, and cloudy. The soil is too wet for planting and mushrooms thrive on it, with not enough plant life to go around for herbivorous Pokemon. The buildings here are made of mossy stones and eroded wood, which makes them leaky, a big problem with the almost constant rain.
...Luckily, we won't be here long.
Along the river that winds through Stormveil was a small wooden cottage where a young Oshawott resided. This Pokemon's name was Eve, and she was a pretty grumpy little Oshawott, though also quite lonely. She walked out of her sodden home and looked up at the gray sky.
It was morning, at least Eve thought it was. The cloudy sky didn't show the sun. In face, the Pokemon living in Stormveil didn't really see the sun often, and the town was always cast in a literal and metaphorical gloom.
Eve looked out at the river. It was time to catch her breakfast. The Oshawott walked over to the river and bent down, looking for her breakfast.
Eve snatched up a Magikarp that strayed from its school that was passing down the river. With a little struggle Eve was able to defeat and kill the weak fish. She brought it inside to eat it, and the rest of the Magikarp continued to flop downstream where another Pokemon would nab it.
