Well, today was turning out disastrously, and he just didn't understand why. He had found something he had liked at one of the shops, and so he left a few Poke there and taken it while the shopkeeper was busy (he didn't want to disturb the poor fellow). Now, the shopkeeper was angry at him and wanted the Mareep wool blanket back after he had paid for it. He was pretty sure that wasn't how it was supposed to go, and so confused, he ran. He met a most fascinating Pikachu (in actuality, a Primeape) while he was looking for a place to hide and took the time to give her a warm, welcoming hug. He had gotten punched for his troubles, the result of which making it look like each of his blue eyes were surrounded by a purple mask (one big bruise). In an effort to get away from the now irrationally angry Pikachu (Primeape), he ran some more, but his attacker did not give up pursuit, even going as far as knocking down a wall in the dojo that he had tried to hide in.
And now, a team of Police Growlithe were after him for "disturbing the peace." He was certain he had done no such thing. He was most peaceful! Panting, the little Joltik ducked behind the Feather Cafe and tried to catch his breath.
"There you are, you creepy little bug!" Pikachu (Primeape) said, running up to him. She pounded her fists together. "I'll teach you to mind your own space! Nobody wants your mitts on them!"
"Oh dear," Dex said, gulping. In a blind panic, he used String Shot to try and slow down her approach, but somehow, he ended up webbing himself in fear. |

| Chief Magnezone considered the Totodile and Archen's words carefully. "Zzzt! Yes, that sounds like Captain Growlithe. I've warned him about jumping to conclusions." It looked at Acro with as much sympathy as a cold, steel machine Pokemon could muster. "I'm afraid you made things a little worse on yourself by presenting your guild badge. I have no qualms with the guild myself. Zzzt! As long as justice is served, I'm happy. Zzzt! But everyone on the force, and the police force in other areas don't always see eye-to-eye with your guild. Zzzt. There's a lot of bad blood there, owing to the fact that we're civil servants, and the guild is... paid to do whatever their clients ask. Zzzt! No paperwork involved. Lots of problems with that. This will be a mess to sort out with the rest of the district, and because the guild is involved, I'll have to consult with the guild leader. Zzt! Politics. Zzt! Ugh." The Magnezone managed to look annoyed for a moment.
"I don't blame you, of course. Not your fault things are so *zzzt* complicated." Then, it looked to Dex, who was still openly gaping at the Magnezone. "Zzzt! And what say you, Joltik? What's your story in this? I see little reason that your friends here aren't telling the truth from their point of view, but as much as Captain Growlithe exaggerates, he doesn't just make things up. Zzzt! Did you take something that wasn't yours?"
Dex blinked, thought, and then tried to answer the Magnezone's question. "Oh! Yes, I did. But don't worry, I paid for it." He looked proud of himself. "I found three Poke on the ground. It was so exciting, and I'd always wanted to try this marketplace thing because it looked like fun!"
The Magnezone stared passively and patiently. "Zzzt! And what was it that you bought for three Poke exactly?" There wasn't much that could be bought for such a small amount.
"This really soft, wool blanket!" Dex said happily. Then, his expression fell. "Oh, but I lost it when the shopkeeper started chasing after me. I don't know why he was chasing me for. I put the Poke on the counter, and I was very careful not to bother him too much since he looked busy."
The Magnezone blinked. "Zzzt! My database informs me that wool blankets cost far more than three Poke."
Dex looked at the chief of police curiously. "Do they?"
"You're not from around here, are you, kid? Zzzt!"
"Oh no. This is the first time I've been out of my cave. I've seen and learned so many new things. I'm ever so happy to be here." He beamed.
There was silence from the Magnezone. It seemed to be trying to smile back. "Zzzt. So, we've got a few misunderstandings here. The wool blanket will need to be found and returned to the shopkeeper. I'll leave that to you three. Zzzt. I think it would be safe to let the three of you go, but you will be kept under watch by patrol until such time that all paperwork is completed and every matter resolved. Zzzt. Don't leave town."

| Tom stared at the bug. "Oh." And thus, the trio was let go. Tom felt it prudent to introduce himself then. And he really would have had he not fallen into a fit of laughter upon leaving. "Wha.. Wha... Seriously?! Oh by Arceus, that was... Seriously, what was that about?!" Tom finally managed to stop laughing. "Er, my name's Tom by the way. Totodile. Sorry about laughing, but this is just..." He placed his hand in front of his mouth and forced back more laughter. "So, what sort of 'mon are you, bug? I've never seen anything quite like you." He seemed to have forgotten that there was a third party. |

| Acro watched as Cro-Tom, laughed. He turned to Buggy and asked, "So, What's your name? I'm Acro of Team Roark." He looked curiously back to Tom, "What's so funny?" he asked, not quite seeing the humor in any of this. He found this situation to be a bit depressing if not outrageous, "We have to hurry and find that rug, i'm supposed to meet my partner in Pecha Forest for a mission today..." he said a bit worried. It was his first mission with Flint, and he didn't want to be forced to leave his partner to do the mission alone. Acro tilted his head in confusion and ruffled his feathers a bit out of habit. | |

| "Blanket," Dex corrected in a gentle tone. He scurried along next to them, happy to have company. "I'm ever so glad that's over with. Everything seemed really scary there for a few moments." He looked at his two new companions in searching for the missing wool blanket. "Acro and Tom are such fine names! In my cave, we don't have Magikarp and Starly." He pointed to himself.
"There's a lot of Joltik like me. And a few Galvantula like my mother. A few Zubat, lots of Geodude. You settle down to sleep for the night, and you wake up finding out you were sleeping on a Geodude the whole time! Diglett, Dugtrio, Drillbur, Onix." All four blue eyes widened suddenly. "Have you guys ever seen an Onix? I only saw one once because there aren't many in my cave, but it is huuuuuuuuuuuuge!" |

| "Magikarp." He would have had to punch himself in the gut to prevent himself from laughing - and considering that he wasn't into self harm, he just burst out laughing instead. "Oh, Arceus, you're... ah. I'm a Totodile, y'know. Just sayin'." He grinned upon hearing of an Onix. "Yeah, I've seen an Onix. I've never seen them up close, but they're awesome." He paused. "Say, you're an electric 'mon, right? How did you survive in a cave full of ground types?" He stopped. "Actually, why were you there at all? I'd expect you to be raised in a forest or something - or even in town." Tom's mind seemed to go from "amused" mode to "inquisitive" mode. "How'd you learn language if you lived in a cave? I know some ferals learned how to speak from adventurers, and some guys that live in caves aren't necessarily ferals, but you seem so sheltered that I-" He stopped himself, only just realizing how insensitive he sounded. |

| Acro also found his questions to be totally ignored by the totodile. He was still confused, had Buggy called him a starly, "I'm an Archen. I've fought with an Onix before, not an experience I would like to repeat." He laughed nervously and debated repeating his question, but thought it would be polite to let Tom ask his questions first. He would just have to wait for a chance to speak, that's all. He still didn't know Buggy's name, the joltik. He hadn't known what a joltik was before this, but now he knew since Buggy had called himself one. Is that his name? Acro wondered. | |
