Halloween Event! [October 2019 - December 2019]

As the times for berry harvest come to an end and a time of cold and dark is set to arrive, Pokémon all over the land celebrate the arrival of Winter but, as the legend goes, that is not what these days mark. During the first night after the harvest season is over, spirits arrive from beyond to mess with those Pokémon around them. These spirits, many of whom are not just ghost types, cause mischief and misfortune to the point where the locals have begun to devise plans to keep them away.

Some make their dwellings look abandoned and ruined for the spirits to believe there is none to bother. Coffins with fake bones, webs strung by Ariados or Caterpie, bowls full of messy juice or fleshy jelly made out of crimson Apples or Leppa berries. That is usually enough to drive them off but sometimes, it is not enough and said spirits arrive to haunt houses for their own. They call the residents out and demand that they leave or suffer their trickery, yet Pokémon had grown wise and found a way to bribe these malignant apparention for they, as any Pokémon would, can't resist the treats that gummies are.

Upon being offered such a deal, the specters had to weigh their options. Either they take pleasure in annoying the dwellers or they leave them at peace in exchange of these gummies. And what do you think they chose?

"The gummies, mister?" A young Cleffa asked, covered by a purple fabric with holes as part of his Gengar disguise.

"Yes, of course!" The old Shiftry replies, waiting on the doorstep of his shack "And you know what? This deal not only lured spirits, but many young ones, such as you, whom began knocking on doors disguised as these tricksters and hoping that they would get candy in return. Or so the story goes" The old ‘mon finishes, bowing down and dropping some gummies and a single apple into a bag the kid had brought with him "Now, child... enjoy the night and careful with your surroundings, you may encounter something scary and unknown!"

"Aaah!" The small one shrieks in fear, his whole body shaking under the fearful disguise "a-and... will they come for me?"

"Fear not, for they only come for the sweets like those I've given you. They come, chanting, 'Trick or Treat' for you to choose. Nevertheless, never forget, they also want you to have fun tonight. Don't be mean to them and play nice, okay?"

"Yes, mister. Got it!"

Welcome to the spookiest time of the year, Halloween! As you've all been waiting for, the Halloween Event has finally arrived with a bit more to it than going about your average threads and rolling candy. This year, there are three types of rewards for you to collect. There’s earned, tiered, and randomized.

Earned Rewards are obtained in a similar fashion to the previous Halloween event. You begin with making a thread in one of the following locations:

• Steamrise Inn
  
• Blacktooth Kingdom
  
• Windrose Library
  
• Peak Academy
  

You must label the thread with [Halloween 2019] in the title in order for it to count. Once you’ve made the thread, each page you complete will allow you to roll the dice named “Halloween” where you use the usual code but place “Halloween” where the dungeon would usually be. Once you post, do not edit the post you rolled the dice in without Admin or Moderator consent! Otherwise the result will be void. If you are one of those positions, then ask someone else in the team.

Once you roll the dice, they will give you a number between 1 and 4. Each number represents a different amount of candy you receive, plus maybe a chance to receive something from the randomized pool which shall be explained later.

Once you’ve collected a desirable amount of candy, you can look at the Halloween Store in the third post of this thread to redeem them for items or Poké. There it can be redeemed for various prizes such as boxes, TMs, and even everyday casual items you might want to take up some stock on. You do not need to wait for staff approval to consider an item redeemed, however redeeming Poké will require you to make an admin request along with posting on this thread that you are redeeming candy for Poké. Be sure that you use the code provided and fill in all of the required fields.

There is a second way to obtain candy, however, as the Independent Organizations have a way of participating in the event. IOs, if they’re willing, can create their own little mini-event to participate in such as a haunted house or a Halloween party that other people can make threads about their characters participating in. Creating a thread around one of the IO’s events will immediately grant you extra candy upon completion of the thread with a cap of 25 per user. IOs may choose how much candy their event gives, however it may not exceed the cap.

If an IO would like to submit an event, there is a form for them to fill out and post for staff approval with the other codes.

Randomized Rewards are obtained from getting lucky on the rolls and landing on a 1 or a 3 for the Halloween roll. When you land on one of these, post on this thread using the correct form and don’t forget to remove the space in the roll code provided in the form. Don’t mind if you’re double or even triple posting, just don’t edit your previous posts without staff consent. If you mess up, you may post again directly after and request that the faulty one is deleted. Once you’ve rolled, you will be presented with another number. The numbers correspond to the following rewards:

All 13 of these items are also available to be bought in the shop, so don’t worry if you didn’t get what you wanted.

Tiered Rewards can only be earned once per person. The idea is simple, the more pages you complete in a thread, the more you get out of the tiers. If you were to say, submit a completed 3 page thread, then you would receive the third tier reward along with everything below it. If you were to later complete a 5 page thread and submit it for rewards, you would not obtain everything below the third tier, but you would obtain the final tier. The threads must be completed at the time of submission in order to qualify.

This event will last from to the end of December. This means once it turns January, you will no longer be eligible for receiving rewards. The first week of January will permit cushion room for claiming previously completed rewards and purchases, but you may not earn more.
