Unusual colors in the dark mist Empty
PostSubject: Unusual colors in the dark mist   Unusual colors in the dark mist EmptyThu May 26, 2016 7:03 am

(Energy: 21-16=5)

There was a rather thick fog surrounding the mountain in the middle of the Black Spear Mountain Range. At the foot of this particular mountain, one could find a strange, white colored Eevee. He was staring at the mountain before him, deeply in thought. "This is...Black Mist Mountain...?" Chase had been at the foot of this mountain before, but he never climbed the mountain. Back then, he was still living with his family and the merchant group. They didn't allow him to go up the mountain, because it was too dangerous and he would end up getting lost. Back then, Chase found the idea of getting lost rather ridiculous, but it seemed they had the right to be concerned. He ends up getting lost in a small town in broad daylight after all. The white Eevee had always been curious what he would find there on that mountain. He had always wanted to explore there, and the time had finally come. The mountain was looming over him. The black mist was swirling around it, giving it a rather eerie impression.

The white Eevee took off the sunglasses he was wearing and put them in his bag. He was not going to need them for now. It was already going to be difficult to see without them and he didn't want to risk breaking them in any way. It was the only thing he had left off his parents, and the only thing that could protect his eyes against the light. Chase glanced around him. There didn't seem to be anyone around. At least, he could not see anyone, but that didn't mean there wasn't anyone else. The mist that surrounded the mountains wasn't worrying him at all. His vision was already bad to begin with. Both his unusual fur and his bad eyesight come from the lack of color pigments in his body, albinism. Chase had learned to rely on his other senses because of this.

Chase took a deep breath and started walking over the path. The wall of mist was getting closer with each step. The Eevee held his head high and didn't show any signs of hesitation or fear. The mist started swirling around him. The air was noticeable growing colder, but that didn't really bother him. Chase slowed down his steps. The mist had completely surrounded him. The white Eevee glanced around him. He was barely able to see anything. It was actually not a good idea for him to explore this area. He had absolutely no sense of direction, tt was very likely he would end up getting lost. "Maybe I should go back..." Chase was wondering what he was supposed to do now. He was already in the middle of the dark mist and he had gotten himself lost so many times before. It was not like he would not find his way back this time, right? The white Eeevee sat down and thought about his next step.

Unusual colors in the dark mist Empty
PostSubject: Re: Unusual colors in the dark mist   Unusual colors in the dark mist EmptyThu May 26, 2016 7:37 pm

Most individuals likely wouldn't consider a dark, dangerous mountain to be a very "fun" place to be. They'd probably go to train or for work reasons, or perhaps just to explore, but surely not to relax. Finding such a place to be good for relaxation was just a crazy thought, right? Well, perhaps this was true, but that meant that all one had to do to find the area appealing was just.... be crazy. This was easy enough for one particular vaporeon of an unusual, pinkish-purple coloration. Given her past, "crazy" wasn't very hard for her to do. Making illogical decisions for perceived fun that shouldn't have even existed wasn't exactly foreign to her. On top of that, she had been very bored and just happened to be in the area, so of course she'd taken interest in the most noteworthy thing she could find in her general vicinity!

Sy'rin had been climbing the mountain for a while, though "climbing" was perhaps a bit of a stretch. She had been stopping to enjoy the sights, search out the source of every little sound, and at times, just relax. Black Mist Mountain was so very fascinating to her for no reason other than the fact that it was a place she hadn't been to before. Due to this, despite having spent a while on the mountain, she hadn't really gotten very far up it. She found herself just wanting to lounge around in the mist, as it hydrated the air, and by consequence, herself as well. She wasn't too worried about absorbing anything nasty out of the air since her body didn't really let her take in anything other than pure water.... at least as far as she knew. Then again, her knowledge of her own anatomy and of safety in general were a bit lacking.

The mountain seemed quiet, which was presumably due to there not being anything in her area, or at least not anything interested in showing itself. Due to this and her naturally good hearing from her evolutionary line, it was quite easy to hear when a voice began speaking. It wasn't too far away from her, but she couldn't see the source through the mist. Still, the speaker didn't sound hostile or threatening, so she nearly instantly decided to meet whoever it was. They weren't really being loud, but she could still make out the words as she slowly crept closer to the source of the noise. She needed to think of some kind of intro; a good first impression! Would just saying "hi" be too bland and normal? But then, if she tried to be more.... unique, what if she scared them off!? In the end, she decided on trying to start off with a friendly joke.

"Geeeeeeeeeet ooooooouuuuutttt," Sy'rin responded to the voice in a mock-spooky voice.
She hadn't intended for her words to be so ominous, but in hindsight, there were probably better ways she could have started up a conversation. "Don't actually leave," she added on in her normal voice after a moment, just in case her joke were to be taken the wrong way.
She didn't know if whoever the voice belonged to was the timid sort, but if they were, she certainly didn't want to scare them off. Then she'd be stuck being aaaaaaall alone again, and she certainly didn't want that. Plus, from what she'd heard, it seemed like this newcomer had already been planning to leave, so she really didn't want to push her luck.

Unusual colors in the dark mist Empty
PostSubject: Re: Unusual colors in the dark mist   Unusual colors in the dark mist EmptyThu May 26, 2016 9:32 pm

A rather eerie silence filled the air, at least, it felt that way to the Eevee. This was probably because of the black, ominous mist that surrounded him. Chase glanced around him again. The silence was a bit unnerving, to say at the least. It didn't bother him that much, but Chase did think it was better to go back. There was a problem though. What way was back again? He couldn't remember and the mist didn't make it any easier. He wasn't able to see his surroundings at all. The white colored Eevee had only just entered the mist and already had gotten himself completely lost. One really had to question his sense of direction at times. The Eevee had long given up counting on how often he got lost. The Eevee had no clue what way to go to, but there was no point in just sitting there. The best thing he could do was to keep walking. He was going to end up somewhere eventually, right? And since he was in the dungeon now, he might as well explore the place. He might be able to find something interesting.

Chase had decided. He took his bag and stood up. He knew what he was going to do, he only had to decide on a direction to go to. The white Eevee glanced around him. He couldn't see anything to help him chose so he decided he would just go forward. Chase had only taken a few steps through the dark mist when a rather ominous voice broke the silence that had been hanging around him. It startled him. Chase's first reaction was to get in a battle stance and try to figure out where the voice was coming from. It seemed rather hostile to him. If the owner of the voice was going to attack, he was ready to defend himself. He waited patiently on what was going to happen next.

He had expected someone to attack him, or tell him once again to leave in that ominous voice he had heard before. He did not expect a normal and not ominous female voice. It did catch him a little off guard. Wait, was that a second voice that was in trouble? Did the two voices belong to the same Pokemon? He quickly regained his composure and looked around him warily. He tried to listen for any sounds and tried to make out any weird smells through the mist. "Who is there?" He called out. The white Eevee had no idea what to expect and was completely on guard. He was hoping to find out who the voices belonged to.

Unusual colors in the dark mist Empty
PostSubject: Re: Unusual colors in the dark mist   Unusual colors in the dark mist EmptySat May 28, 2016 2:11 am

Sy'rin waited for a response, hoping her potential companion hadn't left or been scared off by her first impression. She only got a moment to worry about such things before she heard the voice once more, this time seemingly responding to her. It wasn't exactly the friendliest response, but hey, she still had someone to talk to now! Voice wanted to know her name, but she wasn't quite ready to give it yet. First, she wanted to have a little bit more fun! She giggled, purposely loud enough to be audible, but initially gave no response. The giggle hung in the air for a moment as she went over things to say in her head. It took her a moment to think up an idea, but she soon settled on simply trying to scare the bearer of the voice once more, only this time in a way flashier manner.

The purple vaporeon took careful note of where it sounded like the voice had come from as she began to walk in a very wide circle around the source. She made sure to stay within the cover of the mist for the time-being, until she was ready to reveal herself in a spectacular manner. It was hard to keep track of where exactly the voice had originated from, but she did her best to do so while remaining as silent as she could. She didn't want to give away her position. She wanted the voice's owner to think she was still in her original position, so that she could surprise them! Her care for silence coupled with her distance made it so virtually no sound from her end reached her mist buddy.

When Sy'rin was confident that she was directly behind the source of the voice or at least close enough, she began creeping slowly toward it. She was very careful to take it slow and easy so as not to make much noise. The mist persistently shrouded whoever it was she was approaching, but when she finally got close enough.... she had to restrain herself from shrieking with joy. It was an adorable little eevee, and they were colored weird, like her! Well.... not exactly like her, but close! She crept slowly forward for as long as she confidently could, waiting until she felt like she could bolt the rest of the way before the white eevee turned around. If she got caught, the entire setup would be for nothing.

When she finally got close enough to worry that she would be heard if she kept going, she suddenly broke into a sprint over the rest of the short distance. "Boo!" she exclaimed as she neared.
Of course, all she wanted to do was scare the eevee a little bit as a harmless joke. She meant no harm or ill will; to her, this was just a playful game. She didn't want to scare them off, but now that she was revealing herself, she hoped that wouldn't be a worry. If the eevee didn't like such gestures, then she'd probably have some work ahead of her to make up for it, but that didn't sound too bad. If she needed to apologize to the adorable little critter for upsetting them, then she would.

Unusual colors in the dark mist Empty
PostSubject: Re: Unusual colors in the dark mist   Unusual colors in the dark mist EmptySun May 29, 2016 2:17 am

Chase glanced around him, waiting for a reaction. The reaction he got, was a giggle. It wasn't exactly loud, but he could still make it out. With the mist, it was hard to tell exactly where it was coming from, but it seemed to be coming from somewhere in front of him. Was someone messing with him? That seemed rather likely. The white Eevee was rather unsure on what to do. Would he try to move to the source of the voice? Would he try saying something again? Would he just wait and see what happens? Turning around and leaving the mysterious voice also seemed like an option.

Chase sat there for a while, carefully thinking about his options. In the end, he decided to wait it out. Something was bound to happen eventually. That was what he thought at least. The Eevee closed his eyes and perked his ears, trying to listen to any sounds. It was quiet, too quiet. It gave him a rather uneasy feeling. It didn't help that he didn't know what was going to happen. Was the Pokemon going to leave him there? Was it thinking about what to do? Was it going to try something? The anticipation was killing him.

Chase took a deep breath and tried to calm down his nerves. It would not do him any good to panic or expect the worst. He just had to concentrate on his surroundings. Then he finally heard something, but it was coming from behind him. Not only that, it was coming closer to him at a rather fast pace. Someone was trying to attack him! The Eevee turned around, ready to defend himself from whoever was attacking him.

"Boo!"

The white Eevee yet out a surprised yelp and staggered back, not only because that startled him but also because he had stopped himself from tackling the other Pokemon. It had caught him completely off guard. The Eevee stared at the Pokemon before him. He was finally able to see where the voice had been coming from. To his surprise, it was a Vaporeon, but that was not what surprised him. What did was the unusual coloration. While a Vaporeon was usually blue, this Vaporeon seemed to have more of a pinkish purple coloration. This was actually the first time he had seen a shiny Eevee. He was a bit at a loss of words.

After staring at the Vaporeon for a few minutes, the white Eevee somehow managed to compose himself. It seemed like the Pokemon had just been pulling a prank on him but he could never be too careful. "It was not really nice to sneak up on me like that. I almost attacked you. What is your name and why did you try to scare me like that?" He spoke in a calm voice. He was still wary of the stranger before him. He did think that she just had tried to scare him for fun, but what if there had been another reason? The Eevee kept a close eye on the Vaporeon as he waited for her response.

Unusual colors in the dark mist Empty
PostSubject: Re: Unusual colors in the dark mist   Unusual colors in the dark mist EmptyWed Jun 01, 2016 12:03 am

The eevee's reaction was about what Sy'rin had desired. Maybe someone of a more normal mentality would have belt a bit bad about scaring some stranger for no real reason, but she just considered it a harmless prank, and a funny one! The little eevee's response was just adorable, making it worth any backlash she could receive for her actions. It was also funny, especially in that the fluff-ball thought she was worried about him hurting her! Even if it were the case that this eevee could hurt her, she still wouldn't be one to worry about such a thing until having it proven to her the hard way. At the moment, she just cared about how much fun she could have with her new entertainment device. She wanted to get to know him and everything fun about him!

The purple vaporeon giggled at the almost-threat she was given, clearly not caring about it and making no effort to hide this fact. What was more important to her than something somewhat close to a threat was the fact that the eevee was interested in getting to know her. Or at least, that was what she'd taken from the questions about herself, and she was happy to oblige. "I'm Sy'rin, and it was funny!" she responded lightheartedly.
She hoped the eevee wouldn't hold a grudge against her for her actions, figuring that would make it harder to get to know him and somewhat less fun to be around him. But even if he was one to hold grudges, that just meant she'd need to try a little harder to get on his good side!

Sy'rin began circling around the eevee and looking him up and down as she thought about what to say to him. The way she figured, it was her turn to talk now, since she'd been fair and answered the questions asked to her. But what did she have to ask? Maybe she could get the eevee's name, why he was in the area, what his favorite thing to do was, his birthday, favorite holiday, what evolution he wanted to take on.... For the time-being, she decided on the two most relevant questions: his name and motive for being in a dangerous dungeon. "You seemed lost, so I thought I'd come say hi. Figured maybe you could use a guide," she started up.
Of course, she had never been to this place and had no idea how to navigate it, but it surely couldn't be too hard to be a guide for someone who didn't seem to be any more well-informed than herself. At the very least, she could help give her new fluffy plaything safe passage to wherever he was headed. He didn't seem particularly strong from his exterior, so the vaporeon felt it was a safe bet to assume he wasn't.

"Speaking of which, why are you here? If I'm gonna be your guide, I should probably know what you're looking for. Oh, and your name would help," she continued.
Flawless execution. Or at least, it was flawless in her eyes; she'd gotten to ask her questions, and on top of that, she'd given the eevee a reason to stick around with her. She was purposely talking as if it'd already been decided that she would be guiding him, hoping he would be the type to just go along with it instead of making things awkward for himself. Another thing Sy'rin wanted to know was why the eevee was such an odd color, as she knew from first-hand experience what a "shiny" eevee looked like, and that was a bit different. However, she didn't want to overload the fluffy thing with too many questions at once.

Unusual colors in the dark mist Empty
PostSubject: Re: Unusual colors in the dark mist   Unusual colors in the dark mist EmptySat Jun 04, 2016 2:52 am

Chase stared at the purple colored Vaporeon. He was rather cautious aabout the stranger, even more when he heard her giggle. That didn't really seem like something a normal Pokemon would do, or was she just laughing because of his reaction? He didn't think he had said something funny. The white Eevee was questioning her sanity at that point. He had heard a few things about insane Pokemon, and those were not good. He was hoping she was nothing like that. He knew it was going to be dangerous but he was not prepared for this.

The Vaporeon seemed awfully lighthearted as she spoke up. Did she think this was some sort of game? Chase was unsure what to think about this. It really did seem like it was a prank. Not the best prank to pull of though. Things could have gone bad for her if she tried scaring a different Pokemon. Some certainly wouldn't be able to laugh at that. At least he knew her name now. That was something. If she really was going to do something bad, wouldn't she have just attacked him? Chase was going to believe that for now, but he wasn't planning to let his guard down yet.

Chase watched as Sy'rin started circling around him. It was rather obvious she was inspecting him. The only question was, for what reason? Was it because of his unusual color? Was she trying to see if he was a threat or an easy victim? He didn't like it. He prepared himself to attack, in case the Vaporeon was going to try to do something. What the Vaporeon said, wasn't really comforting. He was lost, but why would she want to be his guide like that? It seemed a bit fishy. He got the idea there was something more behind it. It seemed like Sy'rin was already assuming he would accept her as her guide. He didn't really trust her yet though.

"So you are saying you could guide me through this dungeon? Why would you guide someone you have just met and who seemed lost through a dungeon like this? We don't know eachother after all." He asked her. He was not planning on happily going with her. He had to be sure he could trust her first. "If you explain this to me, then I will answer your questions." He stared at Sy'rin. He was serious about this. The purple colored Vaporeon seemed rather strange to him. He wanted to know what her motives were for acting like that. If he didn't like them, he could try running away or, if things went bad, he could try to fight his way past her. He wasn't really strong, but it was better than just letting the Vaporeon do with him as she wanted.

Unusual colors in the dark mist Empty
PostSubject: Re: Unusual colors in the dark mist   Unusual colors in the dark mist EmptySun Jun 05, 2016 3:47 am

The eevee was being difficult and acting all timid, like he was standing face-to-face with some kind of intimidating threat. Sy'rin had tried to come off as friendly and inviting as she could, but it didn't seem to be working very well. She just assumed her fluffy new companion was the naturally timid type and that it wasn't her fault. Of course, starting up a conversation by scaring him probably hadn't helped, but that was a minor detail. For now, the vaporeon was focused on earning the trust of this little critter. He wanted to know something simple: why did she want to help him? In truth, she was just very bored and lonely, but she also didn't want to see an adorable - and oddly colored - eevee meet an untimely demise due to being alone and lost in such a dangerous place.

She stopped and sat down in front of the eevee as if to show she had no ill intent. As she sat, she wondered about how to answer in a way that wouldn't just unease the timid fluff-ball more. Why did she even have to answer such a question in the first place? Was it weird to want to help someone who seemed lost? Or just to be social in general? "I have to have a reason to be kind to a stranger?" she questioned rhetorically.
Of course, with how this eevee had acted, she guessed this answer wouldn't be very satisfying to him. He seemed to want some kind of underlying reason, so she supposed if she wanted it to go smoothly, she would just have to give him one. But she didn't really have much reason other than being bored and not wanting to leave some random traveler to die.... which meant she'd have to make one up.

Sy'rin thought for a moment on what to claim her reasoning was before finally deciding on something. "Well, if you insist.... I don't want to see one of my own kind die here," she declared.
It technically wasn't a lie, even if it wasn't really her reason for wanting to help. She would have offered help even if it hadn't been an eevee she'd found, although perhaps she would have just requested to tag along if it'd been someone who seemed more.... capable. Maybe it would have been better if it had been someone more capable. Maybe then she wouldn't have had to deal with convincing someone she wasn't out to get them. But still, it wasn't like there were no upsides to this eevee. First off, he was even more adorable than a normal eevee, what with his weird coloration. Then there was.... well, not really much else.

The eevee's personality seemed about as charming as a rock so far, but Sy'rin was trying not to judge a book by the cover. He seemed shy so far, which meant maybe he would get a little more fun once he opened up some. "Especially not someone with such a.... neat color. That good enough for ya?" she added on with a friendly smile.
At the same time, she lifted a paw to pat the little white creature on the head, partly as a gesture of friendliness. Although she honestly just wanted to touch the strangely-colored, fluffy fur. The eevee surely wouldn't mind just a little touch....

Unusual colors in the dark mist Empty
PostSubject: Re: Unusual colors in the dark mist   Unusual colors in the dark mist EmptyWed Jun 08, 2016 2:03 pm

(Sorry, phone post. Tried to make it a bit long.)

The white Eevee kept a close eye on the purple colored Vaporeon. It seemed she needed time to think this one trough. It probably was not the easiest question to answer. He knew that fully well. If he had been in her place and she in his, he would probably have answered something like: "you seem interesting. I never met a shiny vaporeon before. Exploring also seems more fun and safer together." Of course, he had not been the one who had tried to scare a stranger as a joke. He probably wouldn't have asked that question if sve didn't seem so weird. It was unclear what her intentions were so he was unsure if she was to be trusted.

The first thing the Vaporeon said was asking if she had to have a reason to be kind to a stranger. The answer to that was no. Chase didn't answer that question and just looked at her. He helped out a few strangers himself after all. It was not that he minded her being kind, it was the way she said everything that made him doubt if she could be trusted or not. The prank she pulled off didn't help either. Scaring someone for fun was not the best for a first impression. Chase patiently waited for the Vaporeon's answer.

After a bit more of waiting, she finally answered his question. It was a good enough answer for him. Chase finally let down his guard a bit and sat down. The Vaporeon also commented on his color and asked if her answer was good enough. The white Eevee nodded. "I guess that makes sense. I heard a few things about this mountain. It is not surprising to think I might die here. Forgive me for asking that. I had to be sure you would not try anything. Now, to answer your question. My name is Chase and I have been wandering around and ended up here. I decided to explore a bit. I wouldn't mind exploring with you. I can't navigate in this mist."

Chase had been too busy answering the Vaporeon to notice she had lifted her paw to pet him. He had let down his guard after all. He flinched as he could feel her paw on her head and looked at her. "I don't really like being petted. Could you maybe stop?" He asked the Vaporeon. He was not going to get angry if she didn't. That was not in his nature. He felt like he was threate as a kid by being petted. For an Eevee, he was not a child. It just took him longer to learn simple things like reading and the basics of fighting due to his eyesight. He did know he was not strong though.

Unusual colors in the dark mist Empty
PostSubject: Re: Unusual colors in the dark mist   Unusual colors in the dark mist EmptySat Jun 11, 2016 9:51 pm

The situation seemed to be turning out alright, which put a happy smile on Sy'rin's face as she listened to the eevee speak. Just as she'd thought, he was lost, and while she technically wasn't the greatest at navigating either, she figured she could be useful enough. She knew up from down, and more importantly, she figured the eevee, Chase, would probably appreciate some protection. She wasn't particularly strong, but just going out on a limb, she assumed she was stronger than an eevee. If she wasn't, then that was probably going to be awkward if they ended up encountering any hostiles, but such a thing seemed unlikely.

But more important than all of this was her interest in the fluff of the white eevee's fur, which she had gotten a good feel of with her paw. She hadn't gotten to feel eevee fur since she'd evolved, and perhaps it was a bit creepy, but getting to remember it was nice. Of course, little furry critters always had a certain.... toy-ish appeal to her, but her own species-line held special interest, what with her being like them. She somewhat disliked the fact that she'd chosen the only evolutionary path that involved losing the fur, but the benefits were worth it. "Oh," she responded to the request to stop petting the eevee.
She'd gotten a bit distracted and didn't even realize she was still touching. Her paw retracted almost instantly and her expression turned slightly embarrassed, though she kept the smile.

"Right," the vaporeon muttered.
She didn't want to spend any more time on that subject, but she didn't really know where to go with the conversation. Thinking quickly, she began wandering off in the fog toward the general direction of "up," expecting the eevee to follow. As she did so, she spoke up: "Sooo.... either you really don't need my help...."
She then paused for a moment to look back at the eevee and wonder if it was a good idea to continue with what she as about to say. It was somewhat ominous and she knew it, but to her, it was more of a teasing comment. She had already seen that her playful behavior had a pretty significant chance of backfiring on this particular specimen, but she was somewhat bad at being sensible anyway. Plus, it was something she was genuinely curious about.

"....Or I really didn't have to answer your questions," she finally continued.
Her implication was, of course, curiosity as to whether or not this eevee was a capable fighter. While it was mostly just to tease, she was also wondering, what with how he had behaved thus far. "If it's the second one, it's pretty bold of you to even ask. I mean, what if I weren't so nice? You've gotta be careful if you wanna be an explorer," she remarked under the assumption that Chase was as weak as she had figured.
This time, there was no purpose to her words: she was just being ominous.... and honest. It was purely for the sake of conversation, although she didn't realize that her words could have been taken as somewhat hostile.

Unusual colors in the dark mist Empty
PostSubject: Re: Unusual colors in the dark mist   Unusual colors in the dark mist EmptyTue Jun 21, 2016 2:24 pm

Chase was relieved that the purple colored Vaporeon stopped petting her. If she hadn't, he probably would have tried to move away. He would have gotten annoyed if she was persistent on petting him, that well, but he would not have attacked her or anything of the like. Worst he would probably do was make a few remarks. It was not a good idea to fight with a comrade over such things, especially not in a place like this.

Chase followed behind Sy'rin as she started walking up the mountain. It was not steep yet, but they had to be careful. He had heard Pokemon often ended up injured or dead because they fell down a cliff or something similar. That seemed to especially be the case on this mountain. The mist made it difficult to see. Pokemon who were running away or fighting often already had a hard time seeing their opponents, yey alone the environment. Chase hoped they would be able to avoid such a situation.

Chase stared at the Vaporeon when she spoke up. He didn't really like that question. "I already told you the reason for asking that. I wanted to be sure you would not try anything the moment I let down my guard around you. " Sy'rin had a point about that what he asked was risky. He was not going to deny that. He was getting the impression the water type was underestimating him. He might not be the strongest Pokemon, he was still able to fight. "It is better to ask something like that than to trust you and get attacked afterwards.

Chase sighed. It seemed like it was going to be a long trip. He was not sure if he should be happy or not with Sy'rin's company. The Eevee made sure to stay close to the Vaporeon. With the mist it was easy to lose eachother. Chase's ears twitched a little as he picked up a sound. He looked around him, but it was impossible to see where it was coming from. "Did you hear that just now?" He asked as he looked around him, completely on guard again.

Very brave eevee, or very stupid eevee? Sy'rin couldn't decide which it was, and for all she knew, the answer was both. What was stopping her from attacking the eevee, and more importantly, what difference had the questions made? Perhaps this eevee was just very confident in his judgment of character, but even if she'd had ill intent, she couldn't help but wonder what such a fluffy, adorable thing would have been able to do about it. At that point, to her, it seemed more reasonable to just try and please someone than to interrogate them. The questioning didn't bother her, but what if she'd been someone who didn't like having questions asked about herself? In that case, it would have been best for this eevee to just try to appeal to her. She wanted to continue this conversation in the hope of giving herself some form of assurance that Chase wouldn't fall to such a situation in the future, but something more pressing came up before she could say anything more on the matter.

There was a noise from within the fog that signaled a risk of someone nearby, and while the vaporeon's ears had.... changed due to evolution, she could still hear fairly well. She wasn't one to fear things without first confirming they were worth fearing, so the sound wasn't particularly worrying for her. She was, however, worried about losing her new eevee in the case that something attacked the two of them. So, while she wasn't particularly concerned for her own safety, she still stopped walking and put her guard up for the sake of Fluffy. If something attacked, she was ready to protect her new Fluffy at all costs. Perhaps she was getting a bit ahead of herself since she still didn't even know if the sound had been caused by something living, let alone something hostile; she couldn't tell if the noise had been a stray rock falling or something more.... alive-y. But it felt better to be safe than sorry, at least in the particular situation she was in.

"Yeeeah," she responded idly to the eevee after a short pause.
Her answer was rather lackluster, but she planned to add more to it.... as soon as she thought of something else to say. This didn't take long, but what she'd thought up wasn't exactly going to be directed toward her companion. "Ahem.... HE-LLOOOOOOOO!? Is anybody theeeeeeeeeere?" she abruptly spoke out in a friendly tone, making plenty of noise in the process.
She sounded almost like she was singing the words out. Perhaps it was a bad idea to alert any nearby things to where they were, but they'd already been talking, so it wasn't like she had added much risk. If the noise really had been caused by someone, it had sounded close enough for whoever it was to have probably heard them talking.

The response confirmed it: a growl from within the fog ahead. "Not much for talking?" she rhetorically questioned as she moved closed to her new eevee friend.
Another growl sounded out shortly after she spoke, this time closer. Whatever it was, it was coming toward them. She felt tense for a moment before a figure came into view through the fog and made the worry all go away. She couldn't tell exactly what it was, but it was too small to be afraid of. As it came closer, the color of its body became apparent as mostly a gray that was difficult to see in the mist. It looked as if it had fur, but it was hard to tell. It was still growling, which made it seem unfriendly.

Unusual colors in the dark mist Empty
PostSubject: Re: Unusual colors in the dark mist   Unusual colors in the dark mist EmptySat Jul 23, 2016 11:42 pm

Chase carefully looked around him. He hoped that whatever it was, it was going to leave them alone. The eevee was not looking forward to a fight. It was not that he was scared or thought they would lose, he was mostly worried about the fact they were on a mountain surrounded by rather dark mist. It seemed very dangerous to him and he didn't want to take any risks.

The white Eevee was thinking about trying to sneak past the source of the sound. If it was a Pokemon, there might be a chance it had not noticed them. Of course, his companion thought otherwise. Chase cringed when Sy'rin started yelling into the mist. She was loud enough for all Pokemon in the area to hear her, and that was not a good thing. He really wanted to move away, but there was no time to react. Pokemon were already closing in on them, and they seemed hostile.

There was no other option than to fight now. He was rather annoyed at what Sy'rin had done and didn't try to hide it. "Thank you for alerting every feral in the area of our location." He spoke in a rather sarcastic tone. "I hope that there were not a lot of Pokemon around. I am not that good when it comes to fighting multiple Pokemon. Now, prepare yourself, here they come." A figure could be seen in the mist now. It probably belonged to one of the ferals that came to them.

Sy'rin understood that the eevee was not happy with her, but she was a bit confused as to why.  She didn't quite understand what the term "feral" meant, as she simply called the uncivilized.... well, uncivilized.  But on top of that, to her, attracting attention was the best thing in the world!  Was the eevee perhaps shy?  He seemed to believe that they would end up in a fight, but the vaporeon held a more optimistic point of view.  As far as she was concerned, the more attention she attracted, the more chances she'd have to meet a new friend!  "You really think I attracted all of them?  I hope so," she remarked, entirely ignoring the part about preparing and fighting.

She paid no mind to the figure in the mist until it was so close that it was hard to ignore, and it was then that she noticed.... a cubone.  For a moment she just stared with a blank expression, seeming disappointed.  Then her face suddenly lit up with joy in a delayed reaction and she rushed over to the little cubone to meet it.  The opposition seemed a bit confused by this and stumbled back a bit, clearly expecting some kind of attack.  But instead, it just ended up with a vaporeon hovering over it with an almost creepy interest in it.  "Oooh, you're adorable!  Is this real!?" Sy'rin questioned and reached a paw out to touch the skull on the cubone's head.
It felt like a real skull!  Did it come off?  She wanted to see if it could come off.

Her fun was suddenly cut short when the little lizard-thing recoiled and smacked her paw with the bone-club in its hand that she'd failed to take notice of.  "Ow!" her paw recoiled toward her chest, her head bending down a bit to get a look at the minor damage.
During this time, she took her eyes off the cubone, allowing it to rush forward and smack her over the head with the bone.  "OOOOOOOW!" Sy'rin whined.
She immediately moved her injured paw to cover the area of her head the cubone had whacked, backing away in the process.  This time, she kept a better eye on the evil little thing and was ready for it to come swinging at her again.  The little creature charged toward her once again, only to be smacked aside by the fin on the end of the vaporeon's tail.

"No, bad.  Baaaaaaad," Sy'rin scolded the cubone as it lay on the ground.
It growled to show it was still conscious, but it didn't seem particularly eager to get back up.  "Don't give me your sass, you started it!" she retorted.
The sounds of footsteps from the direction her eevee companion was in made her turn her attention away from her current situation for a moment to see what else was lurking.  She then saw what appeared to be another cubone at a glance, except bigger.  "Oh wait, I know what that is.  It's uh...." she had to cut her thought to herself short when she saw the marowak raise its arm to toss a bone toward Chase.
This one was much larger than the cubone's weapon.

"Hey, uh, watch out for that," Sy'rin spoke in an inappropriately nonchalant and calm tone, seemingly unconcerned with what would happen if the tiny eevee were to be slammed with a giant bone.  Giggity.

Unusual colors in the dark mist Empty
PostSubject: Re: Unusual colors in the dark mist   Unusual colors in the dark mist EmptySun Sep 25, 2016 12:32 pm

Chase carefully watched the figure move closer, it was hard to see, but he believed it was a cubone. Or was it a Marowak? He could maybe not see it well, but he didn't need to see the Pokemon to know it was hostile. The white Eevee prepared himself to defend himself, if the Pokemon would try to attack them. He got taken a bit off guard when Sy'rin suddenly ran towards the feral. It was pretty clear she was not planning to attack it. "Sy'rin, watch out. That Pokemon is dangerous." He called out to her, but it was to no avail. The Vaporeon had already reached the Pokemon, and seemed to be interested in the skull. She got to feel the consequences of doing that.

Chase was too busy watching the two, to notice the Pokemon that was creeping up to him from behind. It seemed Sy'rin finally got to see the feral before her was not a friend. Now hopefully she wouldn't try to make friends with every feral they come across. That would be painful for her, and a hassle for him. The pink vaporeon had just tossed the, what he assumed to be a Cubone, on the ground before her and turned to look at him. He finally managed to hear the footsteps coming closer. The white Eevee turned around, only to be faced by a Marowak. Sy'rin told him to watch out in an unusual nonchalant and calm tone. It did sound rather weird, but Chase had no time to think about it. The Marowak threw the bone right at him, and Chase jumped to the side, narrowly avoiding getting hit. That had been really close. He should not drop his guard like this again.

With the Marowak having thrown his bone away, he was left open now. Chase took his chance and ran forward. The feral seemed a bit of guard. It probably didn't expect the white Eevee to have dodged it. Chase jumped up, and rammed his shoulder against the Marowak's stomach with a tackle attack. The Marowak staggered back a bit, clutching it's stomach, but soon recovered again. It was pretty clear this was a strong Pokemon. He wondered if the Marowak was related to the Cubone, but that was not really the best time to think about it.

The bone that had been tosses away, turned in the air and flew back into their direction. Chase was rather unaware of that fact and as he stepped back, the bone flew right into his direction. It would certainly hurt if it would hit. It would also leave him open for an attack from the Marowak or any other feral that might be lurking in the mist.
