The Sun's Stewards

The night is cold and unforgiving to those who wander out into its grasp. No fire means no warmth, no jacket means no insulation, all of this means no heat. A place where a lost little girl wandered was strange, it was warm, there wasn't a spec of snow around here. She had been wandering for god knows how long. Not a single companion was with her, not even a stuffed one, making her more alone than she had ever been in her small short life.

The place she walked was strange, it was as if a void obscured her view and she could only see a foot in front of her. She reached out her hand in attempt to feel her way around, her sense of touch felt nothing, but her mind told her she was touching something furry. Her face twisted in confusion as she felt what seemed to be a bushy tail, she reached up in search of the end of it and her mind told her that her hand was burning. She felt nothing, but still whipped her hand back in mock pain. Her ears heard nothing, but her mind told her there was a loud bellowing sound, the sound of rage, followed by fierce growling. Only then did she see something in the strange darkness, a pair of enraged glowing blue eyes followed by a flash of teeth.

Paige yelled in terror, falling off of her bed and hitting the wall to the side as she fell in between her bed and the wall. Her alarm was making an annoying noise similar to a whismur's cry. She groaned, realizing it had been just a dream and she was really in her own home, safe, sound, and seventeen. She was annoyed that she had not realized it was a dream since she was so young looking in her dream, even though she could not see herself in her dream her mind knew her age of the dream.

She sighed, her legs were still up on the bed while an arm was being painfully held up by her dresser with the alarm clock, the wall had smacked her head and the only thing keeping her from falling to the floor was her other arm she had pushed out in reaction instinct. She felt a pressure on her leg and looked up to see an eevee staring back down at her with a concerned face. Its brown fur was fluffy and seemed to be freshly groomed, "Mom gave you a bath again didn't she Xionin?" Paige teased. The Eevee gave a huff in annoyance before turning and walking back onto the bed, obviously unhappy with being forced to be clean.

"Where's Arachna?" Paige asked, getting up from her awkward position with little trouble. She sat on her bed next to the eevee, awaiting an answer. The eevee was silent for a moment before flicking its tail towards Paige's closet. The 17 year old got up off of her now ruined bed and walked towards the closet that reflected her image back to her using a mirror. The closet showed the girl her own blonde pixie cut hair, pale face, and silver earrings she had forgotten to take out before she went to bed last night. She opened the closet to reveal a strange spider like creature shying into a corner. It had four eyes in the place of what looked like one black space in the shape of an eye and a eye in the middle. A round red eye took up half of her torso which faced away as the white legs of the creature pressed it into the corner. (Click The description for an exact Picture)

Paige cursed upon the sight of its abdomen spray painted with a clown face and an assortment of vile words.
"I told Hiyna no touching Arachna!" she hissed under her breath upon the sight of her pokemon. Paige's voice lowered to a cooing noise as she lured the spider like pokemon out. The pokemon was extremely timid and shy, thus being easily scared. Paige figured that the poor Spidead must have been terrified with that many people that were in her house last night. Paige had no choice though, since Hinya had insisted on having the party at her house, as her mother had approved of it as long as it didn't get too wild.

Paige washed the spray paint off of the spider's abdomen and it returned to its black and white color. The spider smiled shyly, at least it seemed to be smiling even though it had no mouth, and climbed onto the woman's shoulder. Paige scratched the side of her neck as she went down stairs and stopped half way. The couch was missing, spray paint was all over the walls, bottles of soda littered the floor and stained the carpet, the love seat was flipped over, the TV was on the ground, and to be summarized, it looked like a hurricane went through the room. She blinked and heard the clinking of dishes in the kitchen, mom.

She turned right around and started to more quietly go back up into her room. Her mother had surely seen the mess. She was going to be in BIG trouble, even though she had not meant for it to become that wild. She-was that a pine apple stuck in a wall!? How did they even do that!? Paige hurried to her room, quickly leaving a note that she had gone off to the eevee club. She HAD to get out of the house before her mother found out she was awake. She would probably have to wait a few days to let her mother blow off some steam. This was a common occurrence in Paige's every day life, something would go wrong that she didn't mean and, of course, she would get blamed for it.

How did she not remember the party though? Paige assumed that Hinya had brought her drowzee and had it use hypnosis on her. Paige cursed under her breath as she climbed out the window, the spider still attached to her, and reached out to a near by tree, grabbing its limp and letting her weight slowly ease her down low enough for her to let go. Xionin appeared through the doggy door of the front door, rolling the grass a few times before following Paige to the sidewalk. Lucky for Paige, today was the day Eevee club gathered. So at least she would be telling the truth to her mother.

She sighed in relief, and began to walk to the meeting house.

Paige blinked as she saw the purple nasty bump on Stan's head, she had been about to say something when David's head began to fall towards the table, and almost onto Arachna. Paige quickly swiped her spider away from the danger zone just in time to barely miss her abdomen being squashed by the heavy head. Arachna's eyes were wide from the near death experience as she was placed lightly back on the table. The spider had quickly moved behind the strange rattata with insect like wings in fear.

Xionin broke out laughing, his paw slamming on the table at Arachna's misery. His act earned a stern bop on the head from Paige, who had turned back to Stan before he could react, "Shouldn't you go to a doctor or something about that?" she asked.

"Yea, that doesn't look very healthy," blinked Ellie after giving David's sudden falling asleep a second glance. She had opted to not wake him and rather to let him sleep, since he looked so tired and had been behaving so oddly this morning.
"Perhaps you should try using an antidote or something on it," she suggested, "I mean it works on Pokemon right? Why not humans?"

Celeste meanwhile had taken to comforting the spider Pokemon, trying to quell Arachne's fear with the gentle humming sound of her wings. The hybrid rattata attempted to convey to Arachne, in their unique pokemon speech, that there was nothing to worry about and that she'd look out for her.

"Eh, I'm sure it'll be okay. I'll just have to keep my head from getting hurt for some time now. I mean - how difficult can it be? I think we should be more worried about Sleeping Beauty here. Falling asleep this suddenly can't be healthy. Now, are we going to complain all day or is there actually something useful we could do?"
While Stan was busy complaining about complaining, his two Pokémon had already decided to try something else, namely creating rather intriguing patterns in the cone of light emanating from Terry's traffic light, seemingly having forgotten about David and the lump on their trainer's head already.

Paige was a bit reluctant to just let the topic pass so easily but instead just huffed and went back to leaning on her chair and watching the pokemon interact. She didn't quite understand why Stan would be like this over such a serious looking wound but decided to do what she would want done to her, leave them alone.

Arachna seemed to smiled as much as a being with no mouth could smile at the fairy rattata's buzzing.

David was still out cold. His sweat glistned in the light while he was sleeping. A slight moan sliped out of his mouth, but nothing else was apperent that he was already having nightmare.

Mary, on the other hand, was upset. She didn't have enough time to groom herself yet that morning, and unlike Xionin, Mary absolutely HATES being dirty and untidy. The Eevee started to lick herself in order for her to take out the many knots that accumulated last night and this morning. She tried ignorning the suspicious and careless pokemon that were playing with themselves near her.

Friendly as he was, Terry had spotted Mary grooming herself and quickly slithered over to offer his help, completely disregarding the fact, that he himself consisted out of dirt, scraps and sludge.
Marry meanwhile had decided to go to bed, simply lying down in a puddle of tar and falling asleep.
Stan found himself growing rather bored however, as he was used to the antics of his Pokémon and conversation didn't seem to be as vivid as it could be.
"So, any idea, what we could do now? Because frankly I don't have a clue."

Ellie had zoned out of the conversation her friends were having as a rather loud group of people nearby were starting to argue over which eeveelution they thought was best. She couldn't seem to block out their loud arguments and so watched them, hoping that they would quieten down. It appeared they would not and when they caught Ellie looking over, they attempted to rope her into the argument by asking her which eeveelution she thought were best. of course when she answered she liked them all it just got them riled up even more.
"How about we head outside where it's quieter?" she suggested, turning away from the arguing group, her attention back on her friends. Celeste and Reena nodded in agreement.

Arachna nodded eagerly in response, making Paige roll her eyes and agree for the sake of her shy little spider. Xionin merely yawned in boredom and looked at the other pokemon, wondering who he should join in some fun while he waited for the spider calm down and play with him herself.

As Terry was sludging his way to her, Mary spots him and starts backing away from the living mas of tar. Not noticing the edge of the table, she falls over the edge and lands in David's bag.

David was still asleep over all the yelling and excitement.

"Well, I guess it would be for the best. Why don't those cretins just let their Eevee choose, what they want to become?"
Stan picked up both Terry, Marry and his stuff and staggered towards David, lightly tapping him on the shoulder.
"Geez, how could he fall asleep just like that? Must've been crazy tired. So, where should we go to after this? We can't just stand around in the street after all."

(I guess we all don't have much to say or do at the moment.)

"I don't know," replied Ellie, in answer to both questions that Stan had asked. However, focusing on the latter, she shrugged again, "We could always head into the city center. It's not exactly cold and there's plenty of places to sit and hang around," she suggested, "Or the fountain. We might get wet but it's certainly quieter."
Reena made her way back over to Ellie, claiming a position in her trainer's arms. Celeste hovered near to Arachna, waiting for the final say on where they would be heading.

"How about the places where we can sit? Xionin wont like getting cleaned.." she glared at her messy Eevee who merely smirked and puffed out his chest in pride of his dirt. Paige merely looked back to the group and awaited an answer. She had tried to keep the eevee clean multiple times, but the eevee just loved to be dirty for some reason that was beyond her comprehension.
Arachna watched her trainer interact with the other trainers quietly, having no mouth to even make any noise. The spider looked at the sleeping human with a hint of worry, before looking back to Stan, the two's condition concerned her.
