Black Mist of Joy

The wild Pokémon were getting stronger. William had to improve as well, as his home in the Pecha Forest wasn't one of the safest places to be.
True power comes from the heart and William knew that, but noone said, that that process couldn't be sped up.
During one of his late-night lectures, William had discovered a mysterious item of clothing, that apparently made its wearer look gentlemanly handsome enough to nearly double the rate of improvement. William knew, that he needed that item and the book had told him, where to find it.
The Blackmist Mountain extended into the clouds, piercing them and making them bleed flickering shadows onto its rugged surface.
William gulped as he approached the mountain.
"Oh joy..."

As Acro was being pulled up into the air and a Poochyena, a Spearow, an Onix and a Steelix approached them, William, in his supressed rage actually considered just leaving the Archen. But something inside him refused to. They had been searching this long and they would show this *profanity* mountain, who's boss.
Since a direct confrontation would have been stupid beyond belief, William decided to float behind the Steelix, hiding in the floor with most of his body as he tried to remain hidden from the rest of the group in the Pokémon's shadow. Slightly touching its tail, William waited for the intimidating Pokémon to turn around and look down on him before using Hypnosis. The Steelix immediately fell asleep, leaving three other enemies to take care of.

Acro had flown into a fury, not understanding what was going on and instinct taking over. His Ancient Power activated and sent rocks flying about, one slammed into the spearow KOing it in one hit. The spearow dropped an item upon being hit by the boulder. The poochyena was also hit and the Onix was barely affected by it. "I am sick of this Arceus *beep* mountain!" Acro was surprised with even himself, he never cursed. Right now wasn't the time to dwell on it as an onix tail rocketed towards his head, he pulled his head up just in time for the tail to miss and dislodge the tree by accident.

In the confusion of the battle, William had picked up the Escape Orb, that had served as the bait for the trap and threw it at the Onix. A few seconds later, the Onix wasn't present anymore, leaving the Dark type as the last adversary. Sadly, it was a rather quick one, which somehow managed to bite William in his spectral side, causing him to wince in pain as the attack was super effective.

Acro was busy trying to untangle his foot from the rope so he could go help the Ghastly. It took a few moments, but he finally freed himself and sped over as fast as he could. His tail glowed as he used Iron tail and smacked the poochyena off of the ghost pokemon and harshly into the ground, breaking some of the rocks below them. The poochyena howled in attempt to wake the Steelix, hoping for some back up against the powerful and clever pokemon.

The Steelix did indeed wake up again, but William had been anticipating it and floated waiting right in front of its face, Hypnosis readied. The moment the huge Pokémon opened its eyes, it immediately fell asleep again. Now Acro would only have to take care of that dog and they could continue their journey. There were three facts the Gastly was constantly trying to think of to keep his little rest of sanity.

1. Acro was there with him.
2. Astrid wasn't there with him.
3. They had already found at least one, so they did exist.

Being this close to the worm-like Pokémon, William noticed it coiling around something. It was:

Acro ran at the Poochyena with a Pluck attack to finish it off. It gave a final howl before collapsing and dropping an item. It struggled back up and fled, along with the spearow. Leaving them with a sleeping steelix that could wake up at any given moment. Acro whispered,"We've got to GO like now..." he looked at the steelix for any signs of waking up. He looked up at the sky and noticed it was getting darker, maybe that will make the steelix STAY asleep by any chance.

"Probably the best idea...let's just move on...those things have to be somewhere after all..."
The sky darkened as it began to rain, transforming the earth into mud and creating small streams of water on the sides of the mountain.
"But first this could be helpful...", he mumbled as he went to use a Full Elixir.
All the fighting had been rather tiring. When would they be able to finally leave? Would they ever be able to leave?

"We're about half way up the mountain by now!" Acro cried hysterically, the looking at near nothing but rocks and dirt was getting to him, "How is there NOT any joy ribbons!? Have pokemon come here and collected all of them!?" he huffed in anger and clawed the dirt. It was odd of him to let his anger show like this, usually he kept it inside. He knew he wasn't giving up though, for he-tripped over another item humiliatingly. He got up to see just what he had tripped over THIS time.

^IF THIS IS NOT A MULTIPLE OF FOUR I AM GOING TO CHUCK IT OFF THE SIDE OF THE MOUNTAIN!^

"I gurantee you, all those ribbons are there together in one place, undiscovered and just waiting to be found. Why can't they behave like normal items and get down here this instant?!"
At that moment, a clump of mud could be seen sliding down one of the small streams, that were trickling down the side of the mountain. As the rain removed the mud bit by bit, something became visible:

"Holy *beep*ing magikarp..." he looked to the ghastly, "You can summon Joy Ribbons..." he of course had been joking about the coincidence. He snatched up the joy ribbon with...well, joy and tugged his defense scarf off and put it on even though it was slightly muddy. When he realized that he had just stolen it from the ghastly he took it off and laughed nervously, "Heh...sorry got a little too excited, here you go.."

The Gastly's smile reached from one ear to the other...well...even moreso than usual.
"Finally. In the name of Arceus, Giratina, Dialga, Palkia,...(every other legendary ever) and the allmighty New Age Retro Hippie!"
As he realized, that Acro wanted to give him the ribbon,he replied:
"Huh? Nonono...I got the first one. It's only fair, that you keep this one. Now let's get back down before that Steelix catches us. I don't want to see this place ever again!"

Acro smiled and thanked the ghastly before wrapping it back around his neck. Now he could become stronger! He thought about getting one for Astrid too, then decided he would give it to him if he found another on the way back down. He looked up at the moon and spoke, "You're right, the night is pretty..." even though the sun was still setting and the moon was slightly visible. He was about to say more when he heard something shout.
"GIVE IT BACK NOW!" and something slammed into Acro that he couldn't see.

While Acro had been rammed by a Cranidos, William recieved the dubious honor of taking a Sableye's Astonish.
The Gastly grinned. All the frustration, all the pain, sorrow and agony that had been caused by this journey needed to be freed. And the targets had just appeared.
Licking the Sableye square across the face, William decided, that, should he ever become strong enough, he would return here and tear the entire place apart. For now, those two guys would have to suffice.

Acro was rammed into a rock as the cranidos pinned him there while shouting, "GIVE IT BACK GIVE IT BACK" repeatedly. Acro assumed that the pokemon had meant the joy ribbon. He wasn't about to give it up though, not without a fight. He was surrounded in a strange aura as the rock he pinned to lifted into the air and moved to smash the Cranidos. The cranidos took the hit, the rock shattered due to the pokemon's thick skull. He used an iron tail to try and get it to get back but it had used headbutt and caused Acro to flinch.

William had reached an almost trance-like state of battling, using Smog to damage, distract and possibly poison the Cranidos. They had spent three eternities trying to find that ribbon and they were going to keep that ribbon. Through the cloud of gas, William tried to apply his normal attack to damage the Cranidos as well. Its impaired vision should make hitting the target easier for the Gastly.
