Picking up the Pieces Sign-Ups (HoE Reboot)

It's been almost a year and the sky is still dark. The ash and fallout block out the sun and the blue sky with it. Ever since those dreadful days, when demons had poured out of the ground and thousands of angels filled the sky, the Earth had been like this. What fools we were to believe the angels would protect us. To them, we were just obstacles, standing in the way of their fight with Hell. Even angelic beings weren't pure hearted as proved when a squadron of angels clashed with some demons in LA, killing every human in the city, reducing it to ruble. This event caused many to lose their faith in Heaven, though Heaven would eventually come to realize their mistake. Militaries across the world mobilized to engage the otherworldly beings, but were slaughtered by their superior reflexes and abilities.

The dark cloud that had consumed the sun first began spreading from New York, a city under siege by the forces of Hell. Massive armies from both Heaven and Hell had gathered, and World Leaders blindly believed they could end the conflict there. The entire city was leveled, killing millions and beginning the radioactive cloud that would begin to spread, aided by other nuclear events, both accidental and intended. Governments all across the world fell, leaving humanity severely weakened as they now continue to die off. But this purge, this extinction has given way to a strange new world. Some humans have developed extraordinary powers and creatures only found in lore and myths now roamed the wasteland, no longer having to hide from humanity.

Recently, there have been rumors. In the small villages and settlements still left of the human race, there are now whispers of a place known as the Sanctuary. A place protected by some type of magic, with those inside free of the poisonous air of the outside world. Many have wandered, trying to find this place, to know if it truly exists; few have made it alive. Some doubt the safety of this rumored city, as still portions of Hell's army roam the world, unable to return to their domain.

(As you can all see, the plot has changed slightly from Hell on Earth and it's only a year after the war instead of fifteen. Depending on how many join this, there may be separate RP 'rooms' like Kat's Hero RP.)
Rules:
1. No god modding or overpowering. Give other peoples' characters a chance to react.
2. If you want to leave the Rp, figure out a way to remove your character so that they don't magically dissapear from continuity.
3. For now, only one character per person allowed, this may be raised in not many people join.

5. Try and keep content around PG-13. As this is Post-Apocalyptic, blood and violence is allowed.

Terminology:
Demons-The residential species of Hell, demons come in all shapes and sizes, and are usually very viscous, though there are rare exceptions. They torture souls that have been sent to Hell for evil done during life. Many of them are now trapped on Earth after Hell closed. When a demon dies, they just disappear, as they do not have a soul, meaning their essence does not exist after death.
Angels-The guardians of Heaven, they resemble humans with large wings on their backs. Angels are very skilled in magic, though this sometimes leads to them being arrogant. Most are in the same situation as the demons, trapped on Earth, wandering the wasteland. They also experience death the same way as demons.
Reapers-The ones neutral between Heaven and Hell, the reapers were responsible for 'reaping' souls and sending them to be judged on which afterlife to be sent to. They have superhuman reflexes and can live forever, but can be killed in combat and fall to disease. However, with the sealing of Heaven and Hell, the Reapers have lost a purpose, with most residing in the domain of the Reapers, while others have are lost on Earth.
The Sanctuary-A small city established by a group of adventurers/survivors who have been making a name for themselves recently. It is located in an area formerly known as the Great Lakes, and currently has a population of around fifty people. Many do not believe in it's existence due to the elusive nature of it, as it is rarely stumbled upon by anyone. A powerful mage, one of the Sanctuary's founders, cast an incantation around the Sanctuary, protecting it from radiation and fallout.

Name: Hiyori Sammael

Appearance: Hiyori has silver hair that goes down to the middle of her back that she keeps in a ponytail. Her eyes are a bright golden color and wears lightly tinted glasses. her normal attire consists of a black jacket, long grey scarf and faded grey cargo pants. She also has her traditional reaper robes, but rarely wears them.

Personality: To be RPed, slightly insane from the radiation.
History: Hiyori first came into existence as a reaper sometime around the 18th century. One of the first souls she was tasked with sending to judgement for afterlife placement was a soldier who had perished at the Battle of Bunker Hill. Since then, she has reaped souls at Gettysburg, Havana, Berlin, London, Stalingrad, Korea, Vietnam and many more places. When the apocalypse began and Heaven and Hell went to war, the reaper council disapproved, but had the reapers continue their purpose, sending souls to judgement. However, after the war ended, Heaven and Hell mysteriously closed up, with deceased souls now wandering the earth after death, as there is nowhere for them to go.
Abilities/Weapons:
Twin Hook Swords: Hiyori's choice weapons for both reaping souls and self defense. She has mastered swordsmanship specifically with them, and is able to wield them masterfully, but doesn't have very much skill at all with other weapons.
Reaper Abilities: As a reaper, Hiyori has better reflexes than humans. She does not physically age, but she is still vulnerable to dying in combat or of disease.

Appearance: Black hair that is semi-short and he never touches is. He wears the most casual clothing possible, being pants and a t-shirt of any dark color. Blue eyes that seem to pierce through anything. He has a silver chain necklace that has an upside-down cross on it. He has no idea how he got it but he somehow holds sentimental value to it.

History: As a demon, he was ordered to torture the sinners of Earth. He couldn't remember if he had a past life, or how he had come to be. He just became. He didn't enjoy his job which was to torture every soul that had ever fallen under the sin Pride. He tortured them physically by personally ripping apart their bodies as they were reborn to be tortured some more. Once the war broke out he sided with the angels, believing that his fellow demons should be happy with what they had. He fed them information from hell and did whatever he could to help "Good" win. However, he was soon discovered and chased into the human world. There he was stranded for months, searching for some help from above. He soon met a tiny black kitten, mewling and begging to be fed. He continued on, as if not caring about the kitten, but the kitten followed. Only when the kitten refused to leave him and nearly starved did he feed the kitten meat. The kitten continues to follow him, and. having growing attached to the kit, he started traveling on foot instead of soaring in the skies.
Abilities/Weapons: He can change into his "True" form. His true form is a wolf like creature with long jaws and sharp teeth, he has horns that curve back and up and are located in between the ears which are longer and pointier than a wolf's. His fur is black and he has two large black feather wings on his back. His paws end in long claws that are a bit like a dinosaur's, which he also has a long furry tail that can act like a scythe thanks to the two flat blades on the end of it. (THIS:

History:As a soldier to the God of the Dead, he ensures the protection of the righteous and his responsibility is to dispose of those who's souls outweighs the feather of Maat. Sent by his lord to work with the angels in order to keep the dead and deceased, dead...and deceased.
John's actually pretty green to the scene. He was stationed on Earth a year or two ago just as the war was about to end. His opinion of the place? Bleak. Dark. Dead... But he wasn't here to enjoy the scenery. He was here as the clean up crew, killing off any remaining demons. He still still hasn't run into many demons/angels and is eager to prove himself to his master, Anubis, back in the Overworld. His master had said it was a dire and important task, which struck him as weird seeing as he was pretty low in the rankings, just getting out of Training. But it didn't matter. Anubis's wish is command and he'd see it through to the end. Anyways, all he had to do was follow procedure and everything would turn out okay. It can't be that hard, right?

Has recently taken fancy to a black mask adorned with a skull symbol. (Think Spider-Man's mask, crossed with the Punisher's symbol and you've got it. If you don't like comics, Google.)

Personality(Optional): Natasha is Freud's wet-dream. Over the years, her mind has slowly been rotted by an overdose of humanity. She is still very much aware of her surroundings, and very intelligent, but her psychopathy makes her unpredictable, without remorse, and generally one sick puppy.

History: Natasha's history is far too broad to account here. Due to a curse placed on her by Hell, she has been plagued by immortality. She cannot die. She has lived through most of Russia's most brutal history: Unrest and poverty in the late 1800's, the Bolshevik Revolution, the Communist Purges, serving in the defense of the motherland during WW2, watching the Cold War unfurl form behind the bars of a Gulag, liberation with the Soviet Union's fall, and the eventual War of the Devine. Due to her longevity, Natasha has become a treasure trove of intellectualism and deadly experience. Sadly, that treasure is locked away inside a mind that has slowly, reasonably descended into insanity.

Abilities/Weapons: Has an enormous amount of skill with most weapons. Uncanny instincts. Has become numb to pain and general emotion. Rapid regenerative abilities.

But the armor is scared and black, along with a brown duster pulled over it, and cloth wrapped around her neck and lower face. She has a long jagged scar going along her left cheek over her eye. Also her hair has red highlights, and if you get real close (Kissing distance, why you would be there, I dunno.) her eyes take on a purple tint, and have circuitry running through them. By all feel, and look she seems human, unless you have heat-vision, or x-ray vision, then she is either stone-cold (Heat vision), or cybernetic (X-Ray Vision).

History: After several things were tried by the Military Organizations across the world, a sub-group of the American Military Robot Applications, AMRA, specializing in Real-Life Androids developed 9 Experimental Androids to try and combat the Heaven/Hell menace. But they were based just across the bay from New York when the two armies clashed, and even their underground bunker was wrecked from the Nuclear Cloud and fighting upstairs. Pyra remained dormant in cold storage till' some intelligent demons, thinking it was a old world weapon that they could bend, corrupt, and use against the angels, released only her, as the other storage pods were blown out, or completely frozen over. Pyra's first sight into the world, after so long asleep, were the leering faces of the 'intelligent' demons (Their Intelligence can be questioned since they were poking around a old world bunker.), that just realized that it was a girl they were waking up. Despite their obvious thoughts, several of the smarter ones (Again questionable) fled, seeing the flames burning in Pyra's eyes as her initial programming and self-defense systems came on line, (Not going graphic and all here so...) the result: the military program actually worked for once, a year too late. After the gore-fest, she donned the armor that was made for her specifically,and picking up some scavenge-able weapons, she went outside to see the blasted ruins of New York. Now, maybe it was because of her Arcane Core, or maybe that it was somehow altered in her sleep by a foreign person, she has developed a soul, or what seemed like a soul. She felt emotions, and was confused by this. She was sad for her dead creators and team-mates. Unaffected by the poison atmosphere she left, and wandered the now barren wastelands.

Abilities/Weapons: Stronger and Faster then the average human (On par with a normal angel), Military Issue 9mm Pistol, Military Issue Rifle (Magazine size: 20 shots, 5.56 mm bullets. Semi and Full Auto enabled.), and combat blades hidden in her forearms (About from her elbow to 1" from her hand.). Also, mixed martial arts, combined with her blades into a distinct form of hand-to-hand combat. The Ability to absorb minor forms of magic (Only to a certain extent). The knowledge she was 'gifted' by the military database where she was born. And the ability to retrieve more information from Old World Bunkers.

Other: She runs on a Arcane Power Core, thus her power source hasn't died all these years. She absorbs minor drifting magic to keep it powered.

History: The Diary
Shortened version: He stayed in California the whole time, surviving with and without companions. Over the months, he's gotten used to his abilities - even learned how to control them to a small extent, though he can't shoot arc lightning or anything of the sort. He's been keeping his sanity by writing in phone diary (which has not run out of battery thanks to his power) and looking through it at the end of every month to remember everything that happened. While he doesn't kill humans, he loots the dead remorselessly, and leaves others to die in order to survive. His tactics have worked very well so far.

Other: Electricity power - he can create electricity (he actually does so automatically at all times, albeit in small amounts), but finds it nigh-impossible to manipulate beyond preventing it from killing him. He always unconsciously charges his phone.

History: She would enter peoples dreams, and influence their actions during the day to create discord among the humans. She would usually give them lightmares or 'visions' as she liked to call them, and tell them what to do. But in reality, this would make everybody else hate them. They are often very vague and misleading, but seem to lead to something good.
Abilities/Weapons: Can turn into smoke and drift where ever she desires, as well cast many incantations. One of her main talents is making people jealous of each other, as well as deception. She can also change forms into whatever she desires.

Personality(Optional): A rahther shy and bashful Angel, she becomes deadly when provoked. She has tender feelings and has extremely advanced magic that she can use to aid her allies in the battle against Hell.
History: (There would be wayyyyy too much of it to write down.... let's start at a year ago.) She was sent down as a medic/backup during the battle and when the bomb hit, she was able to make a cocoon of air around herself. After, she flew to what used to be Canada and has been searchig for the Sanctuary ever since.
Abilities/Weapons: Flight, advanced healing magic, and water/ air magic (i.e., she can create weak tropical storms, and can make water and air obey her will.) She uses a staff with a moonstone set in it to whack people who annoy her over the head. The staff's body is made of titanium with a leather strap to fasten it to her arm.
