Home for the Halloween [Halloween 2019]

Upon returning from a just slightly scarring scarring trip to the ocean, Simon the Ducklett wound up in... Rainfront Town, the town near the ocean that his mother liked to visit. It looked different, though... at least slightly. The houses and buildings sported candles in the evening light, there were leaves on the road and colorful garland strung above the lines in cris-crossing patterns. There were spiderwebs woven to the sides of buildings, inside various nooks and crannies, ect... and small white ornaments that looked ghost-shaped hung in random bushes and on fence posts. It was... definitely strange, for what Simon was used to.

"What the...?" he questioned aloud as he absorbed the sights. It only took a few more moments of thinking before he realized: it was autumn!! That's right, he left for the ocean during the first week of fall!! All these decorations must have been in celebration of the season: and the festivities!! The realization made him smile, while also giving him a great sense of relief. He couldn't believe he was seeing home again after what felt like a terrifying eternity... and not only that, but he got back just in time for a celebration!!!

"Wow, what luck!!" He wondered if Tempo was still nearby?! He had originally parted ways with the oshawott temporarily and had planned to go straight home, but... now he was thinking that he should see if Tempo was planning on celebrating too, seeing all this! Maybe they could do something together!!! He turned back the way he had came and started hunting for the familiar blue figure.

Tempo went back to his home once they arrived at the beach to quickly drop off some stuff he wanted to before following Simon once again. After all, his recent adventure did cause him to fill his bag quite a bit... as... painful as it was, sometimes... He heads out onto the beach and sat down. It was still a depressing cloudy day... as it always is, unfortunately, it seems...

He suddenly saw a familiar gray figure running towards him, seeing cobwebs decorated on the road he traveled down, with a few ghosts. "Wait, it's already that time again?" He said in surprise. Wait, he has a costume, right? Tempo heads over to grab an item or two. A fluffy tail, fluffy ears, a flower crown, and a necklace with a musical note on it. Tempo runs up the path, but eventually sees a familiar gray figure. "Woah! Simon, how is it? It's... a surprising time to come back to, honestly..."

"Tempo! I'm glad I caught up to you again!!" Simon exclaimed cheerily as he spotted his friend through the crowd. It looked like Tempo had been back to his home already- his paws looked a few items lighter and he even had a costume on!!! Simon suddenly felt very excited by this. "I guess everybody started celebrating the season change while we were gone, huh? And wow, you're already dressed up even!! That's so cool, I love it!!" He looked down at his own plainly colored- although appropriately spooky- feathers. Seeing Tempo in a costume made him feel a little out of place, himself... if Tempo was going out to celebrate, Simon wanted to celebrate too!! But what could he make a costume with, and what would they do with it...?

"I haven't actually been to any of the holiday celebrations around here yet. My mom and I would usually go meet my dad out of town since he travels a lot..." Simon admitted sheepishly as he came to the realization that he had no idea what to do with any of this. "What's there to do around here? What's fun?? I think I have some leftover allowance from my mom- are there things to buy or eat?" Come to think of it- Simon realized that he had made the whole trip back with only the few rations that they had collected on the island they had visited and nothing more. His stomach growled in agreement.

"Admittedly, it's hard to tell with all of the... clouds everywhere... It's kinda depressing, honestly. Even so... I'm excited, too!" Come to think of it... Did Simon even have a costume? His feathers did support the spooky theme, sure, but... that would just be in poor taste, wouldn't it... He kept that idea to himself.

"I'll admit... I'm not even sure how my parents are... I haven't seen them in a long time... But... I suppose they're doing fine, even without me. As for what to do... Hm..." He curiously walked around the city a bit, seeing all the decorations and the Pokemon dressed up... Come to think of it, Simon did bring up a good point about food. "Hm... Let's see... I have a few Poke from earlier, so we can split the bill... Maybe something's at the Inn?" He suggested, but as he approached, he noticed a lot more Pokemon dressed up. Why in the... He saw a sign, nearby, mentioning a costume contest. "Oh! That explains a lot, honestly..."
