[Event] Adopt-An-NPC

It's an average day in the kingdom of Blacktooth. You're wandering through the town center, observing the progress made since you were last here. There are places your hand could potentially be needed, but a peculiar sight grabs your attention in leftmost part of the camp. You approach an odd rickety stand with words crudely painted at the top:

"ORPHANAGE!"
"TAKE CARE OF THEM!"

Curious, your gaze is drawn down to the stock of this strange looking shop. You're shocked to find...eggs. Many, many eggs. You can't believe someone just being left out in the open and cold like this!

...Will you take one?

Welcome to the first ever Blacktooth Mini-Event! This event is exclusive to Blacktooth members and users not participating in the Independent Organization may not participate. You can choose to either have your character adopt an egg or be forcefully assigned if they’re not the type to take on this kind of responsibility. Below is a step-by-step explanation of what this event is all about.

Step 1: Egg
When you sign up, you will be randomly assigned an egg from a specialized list of pokemon-so as to avoid duds like Stunfisk. When you pick this egg, you will receive a short description of it along with an image that may hint towards what it could hatch into. There’s not much you need to do in this stage other than wait 3-7 days and check your messages daily for events you can interact with via PMs from me. Interactions with your egg(or even lack of) can impact the basic personality of the egg and each event has a max of three "attempts" on resolving it. You can choose to receive events via Discord if you don’t want to keep an eye on your inbox.

Step 2: Child
When your egg hatches, the gender and basic personality will be revealed to you. You will then choose whether you wish to disallow the pokemon from evolving (in case you end up wanting to make it a real character) and whether or not you would be okay with the NPC potentially becoming an official NPC of Blacktooth Kingdom when you’ve completed its growth. Becoming an official Blacktooth NPC is not guaranteed. You will then be able to name the NPC (within reason) and will be permitted to flesh out their personality based on the basic description you’ve been given. Mini-events for you to interact with still occur in this stage and you can still influence their personality type.

The final thing to be revealed about your newborn child is their preferences. Their “Preference” is a type of item (berries, seeds, orbs) that they would like to eat and/or play with. Giving these items to your child will allow them to age up and progress into the next stage. Please note that all items you give to the child are not consumed and are instead donated to the Blacktooth Kingdom’s Treasury.

Step 3: Adolescent
Once your child has grown into an adolescent, they will be capable of walking around and about with you. You are now able to use them in threads where you may spawn an NPC whenever you like such as social threads or town threads. In order to continue their growth and train them, you will need to RP pages with them.

It takes 25 pages for them to achieve maturity and observe whatever it is that you have taught them in your threads with them. Please note that you are in control of the NPC, it is not a mod/me controlling it. You can also continue to gift them their preferences, but it takes significantly more to age them up than before. When you use them in a thread/get a page for them, edit your adoptive post with the threads and the number of pages the adolescent is present in.

Every 5 pages, your adolescent will give you a gift. Your relationship in-character does not affect the quality nor quantity of the gift and different people may receive different things.

Step 4: Goodbye
Once you have achieved 25 pages, you will be given a larger bundle of gifts than the ones originally given to you. The pokemon will thank you for the guidance you have given them and begin to live their lives independently from your character. You may choose whether you want to make them into an actual character, audition to be an official Blacktooth NPC, use them as casual NPCs for your threads every now and then, or toss them away to never be seen again.

Important Details

• Going inactive for 1 month without prior notice will result in the kid being canonically abandoned and put up for adoption for someone else to take and continue from where it was left off.
  
• If you change your mind at any point on toggling evolution and Blacktooth NPC audition, notify me and I will change it.
  
• If you don’t like what you get, you can choose to abandon it at any point to try again. This will canonically abandon the NPC and put them up for adoption for someone else to take. Eggs will continue to age until they hatch even when abandoned.
  
• You can reclaim an abandoned NPC, but if someone else already claimed it then you no longer have rights to it and the rewards.
  
• Due to being self-funded, eggs will only be available when I have the items to provide the rewards. If eggs are currently not being offered, then you can set yourself onto a wait list and I’ll contact you when I have everything ready. This also means not everyone will be receiving the same prizes.
  
• You can also choose to forgo the items in exchange for favor from the royalty if you’re not interested in items. This means that you will not have to wait to receive an egg since I don’t have to prepare a prize pack ahead of time.
