(Open) A Fresh Start

Radar smiled at the sight before him. Radar had arrived in Grassveil Town, what looked to be the town of trade or something like that, and it was a beautiful sight. Pokémon walking the streets of the town, laughing, smiling, telling each other stories. Shop stalls were set up in the town centre with Pokémon at each, seemingly buying something, obviously Radar couldn’t tell. The town had a soothing and relaxing atmosphere to the young Murkrow, feeling at peace in the laid back town, he couldn’t remember when he last felt so content; maybe when he was a kid? He couldn’t recall much of his childhood. He hated growing up in Grima Outpost because of his brother.

Radar's brother, Hiro, was an Outlaw, thus Radar had to live with him in Grima Outpost after his parents abandoned him. Apparently, according to his brother, it was a highly prosperous and abundant town or whatever, but now? It's decayed into a broken down wreck known as Grima Outpost, home to any and all Outlaws looking for refuge from the law! Radar got sick quite a few times there from the toxic smog radiating the area. Mild discomfort? Not for Radar! Needless to say, he was glad he ran away.

A whirlpool of emotions swirled around inside of the Murkrow, doubt, fear, anxiety, and more. Would this place be safe? There’s apparently a guild here, would they try to apprehend him? Would he ever make any friends here, or would they just betray him? Fortunately for Radar, one voice shouted the loudest, his feeling of content the atmosphere here gave him, the relaxation in the air that put him at ease. Just breathe he mentally reminded himself, everything's hella fine, you're hella okay... you're safe, Radar. You would never believe how much the dark type had to tell himself that. So, with a few shaky steps from his talons, he wrapped his fluffy black feathers around his quartz necklace he’d stole, using it as a source of comfort to urge himself to move on. He straightened his bag he had with him over his shoulder, his steps becoming a bit more firm as he planted his talons into the ground. He'd survived this far, what could possibly go wrong now?

Guess he’d just have to wait to find out the answer to that question.

Soon, two Pokemon entered town together. After a five day trek, stopping to rest and the zangoose to tell her story, they finally arrived at their location.
Quite lively and soothing - to the chubby zangoose, who never went outside Rainfront until now, it was quite an adorable sight. Not as soothing or peaceful as the beach, but it was very welcoming.

"We're finally here, Yigo," the zangoose with the low, monotone voice exclaimed with a hint of intrigue and awe, "took a while but, we're here."
She smiled softly, standing up on her back legs to look around at everything with a higher point of view. Seeing her from this view, she was more than twice as tall as the sandshrew apparently named Yigo, and clearly many times heavier than it.
From this height, she noticed the murkrow close by, and got curious. She had no problems with dark types, but she was getting a feeling...
"Hm, I wonder what's up with them..., she mumbled, walking over to them, "Hello~!"

(Yay! Another post! Let the RP begin! Music!)

Radar was walking towards the town's centre, his breaths were slowing and calming down as he gripped his necklace tighter, looking around at the scenery before him. The Murkrow saw plenty of Pokémon, some Pokémon shopping, some Pokémon walking or sitting as they chatted with somemon, even Pokémon all alone just keeping to themselves. Radar was enjoying seeing so many happy Pokémon all around him... why couldn’t he be so happy, smiling, laughing, having a good time. Radar was a little bit jealous, but couldn’t wait to make new friends any longer.

Radar was then snapped back to reality by a Zangoose coming over to say hi, and to be honest, this startled him. Radar wasn’t used to feeling so relaxed, so when he heard a voice without knowing who's it was, naturally, Radar almost fell backwards as he had spun around so quick in a panic. “Oh, u-uh... h-hi there.” He stammered, struggling to think of what to say. He felt his heart start to race, thudding and pounding against his chest. His breathing started to quicken, the grip on the quartz on his necklace strengthening each second. The Murkrow was starting to panic! Was this Pokémon safe, who was he? Was he an explorer? That wouldn’t be good... he couldn’t be... right?

“M-My name is Radar, sorry, you just scared me.” He explained, starting to calm himself down a bit. “I’m not usually so relaxed, and hearing a voice when I was kinda in my own world is really bizarro and, um... scared me. My first time being social with another Pokémon and I’m already not making the best first impressions.” Wait, did he actually just say that out loud? With his luck? Of course he did. “Thaaat was my outside voice, wasn’t it?” He mumbled, shifting his eyes to the ground.

(Yes, I know I referred to Julian as a he. It’s not blatantly obvious to Radar that she wants to be called a she, so I thought I’d have some fun with it)

(Howdy! Mind if I join in?)
“Woo!” The airborne Fletchling said in a weird mix of anger and excitement, Grassveil was right there! She could see it with her own two eyes! Joining the Guild was just a moment away! She couldn’t help but contain her excitement, she darted ahead, making use of one of her moves, Tailwind, in the process. She did a quick flip and landed in Grassveil Town! Finally she was here, and it was just as her Mother described it! It was very lively, with tons of Pokémon around, talking to each other and seemingly having a great day. Trucy truly admired all of the activity, as she lived a secluded and frankly boring life at her hometown of Aileron.

When she realized that she was standing in the same place for almost 5 minutes just admiring all of her surroundings, she finally started to explore the Town, She wanted to find the Guild, of course, but that could wait for a little bit. She wanted to know her surroundings a little better before she did anything.

As she was strolling on through, a group of Pokémon caught her eye, A Murkrow, Zangoose and a Sandshrew. The Zangoose and Sandshrew seemed to be traveling together, and the Murkrow seemed to be by his lonesome, of course, until the Zangoose approached him. “Hmm...” she thought to herself “What’s so different about these three Pokémon than from the others?” She was intrigued by the group of Pokémon, and decided to make her way towards the group, Looking through her bag in the process, as she wanted to make sure the book her mom gave to her was still there and intact.

The arrival at Grassveil had been an anticipated one. Fleeing from the cold shores of Rainfront, Yigo and his companion had gone all around Serene cave until they were right in front of the warm town. It was all like the young Sandshrew remembered it. The town was always busy with something to do and to the brim with merchants and travelers. It was certainly a place that brought back many memories as well, both pleasant and bad.

While Yigo was getting lost in his memories, Julie had actually taken the initiative and got closer to another pokemon. "Hey! H-Heey! Where are you going?" He asked Julie while following the Zangoose. He sat by her side right after she greeted the dark bird, scratching his ear as they talked to one another. The Murkrow had panicked upon noticing Julie which made Yigo suspicious. Either this was their first time in Grassveil... Or in some other place that wasn't their hometown or they were hiding something that they didn't want others to see. Yigo decided to trust the dark type and go for the first option since he himself had been in that situation long ago. Besides, the better he treats this flying type the better the chances of them giving Yigo a free wonderful ride above the town. Wouldn't that be amazing?

"This is your first time in town, right?" He spoke to the Murkrow completely casually as if he's seen this many times. A bit lazily and right after scratching his ear he moved to the bird Pokémon's side and nudged them a little "Calm down. Breathe and relax" he paused for a moment to allow the Murkrow to regain their composure "Radar, right? My name is Yigo and this is Julie. It's her first time in Grassveil as well. I was thinking about showing her a few places but you seem to be in need of the tour as well. Do you want to come with us?" Yigo hoped that Julie wouldn't mind the invitation at all. It looked fun to have Radar with them. Besides, the tiny hat-shaped head was simply adorable and made the Sandshrew giggle each time he looked at it directly.

(Sorry for not giving the Fletching a proper entrance. She's quite hard to notice right now cx)

"S-Sorry again!" Alki cried out, backing away from the pokemon before her nervously. It was hard not to keep a smile on her face. He hadn't noticed yet. They so rarely noticed... after all, it was hard to ignore someone like her! Small, and nervous (even if it was, at least partly, for show. It had been pretty genuine the first few times. Before she realized how fun it all was). And they never suspected her of anything! Use her Hidden power to cut open their bag, and catch the contents with that same hidden power, and put it in her own  bag. It was so simple! But with a bit of a distraction... people focused on her. Never on their bag.

And she'd made quite a bit of money doing this! It wasn't something she could really do regularly. Word would get around, eventually, and then what would her efforts to stay in the guild be worth? No... She turned around and walked off, turned into an alley way, and sat down against a wall. The jigglypuff shifted her bag to the other side of her. She needed something to spend it on.

Candy, perhaps? She did have a sweet tooth...

Once nothing happened for a solid few minutes, she got up and exited the alleyway, turning towards the marketplace. What could she spend this much money on? That Absol had had quite a bit of cash...

From... somewhere around this sea of Pokemon, she heard quite a familiar voice. Good natured, and perhaps a bit shy, it was... Yigo? But she hadn't seen him in so long! With everything that had been going on... Alki brushed herself off, hastily, and did her best to readjust her curl. She looked so out of shape! This wasn't how she'd have liked to look when seeing him again after so long, but...

"Y-Yigo?" She called out, as loudly as she could muster, into the sea of Pokemon. Where was he? It'd be nice to see him again, and perhaps she could buy him something as well! After all, it had been so long since the last time they'd been together!

Radar's eyes lit up at the mention of a tour, just what he needed! The Sandshrew seemed friendly enough, and he was nice, too. He'd have to be to offer Radar a tour. “Yeah, a tour would be hella useful. Um... th-thank you... Yigo, was it?” He asked, letting go of his necklace as a friendly smile slowly started to form. Radar was so excited to get a tour with his new friends he’d completely forgotten about something he didn’t understand;

She? Saying that the Zangoose in front of him was a she definitely confused Radar. The Zangoose didn’t look or sound like a girl... eh, who was he to judge. Just because somemon doesn’t look like something doesn’t mean they aren’t said thing, right? The Murkrow was still confused, but happy to be around friendly Pokémon that might be a similar age. At least Yigo seemed like a kid, Radar hadn’t met many kids that he remembered. Radar liked Yigo, he was friendly and seemed safe, the Murkrow weirdly enjoyed Yigo nudging him in the side. He didn’t really know this ‘Julie’ all that well, but Yigo? “I am new here, so that would be great... if I’m okay to join you, that is.” Besides, Yigo's brick-patterned skin was simply amazing and made Radar smile just looking at it.

Julie was concerned for the murkrow named Radar as they seemed to panic, but before she could try and calm him down, the young sandshrew stepped forward.
She wasn't so sure as to the condition of their relationship once they found peaceful ground in the town - she had assumed that perhaps they'd just separate, say their farewells? But she grew to like this sandshrew, they were a nice friend and good listener. It'd be a shame for them to leave each other's side so quickly. Gladly, that did not seem to be the case, as unexpectedly she learned she was now in a tour of the town, and meeting a new possible friend was always a major plus. "Nice to meet you, Rad-", but of course, there was more than one friend to meet, as she heard someone call out for Yigo and saw another bird, this one a fletchling, watch from a distance, "O- oh...?"
She was all for meeting new people, but she didn't like feeling swarmed. She tried to distract herself by focusing on the one, "Um... U- uh, yeah. So, what did you cone here for? I uh... Uh..."
She looked to Yigo, remembering he didn't like it when she brought up the Guild. Now she felt crowded and awkward. The chubby zangoose seemed to blush as she lowered back down to the ground on all paws.

(Post Order is a way to structure RP with more than two people so that every one gets a chance to post in response to everyone else and so things aren't confusing. Main concern I'd say us the idea of being "ninja'd" in an RP, as if someone posts while you're making a post, you won't know unless you send it and it's too late, or refresh the page. Doing this, you don't have to.be worried about completely changing your post because someone made a post before you could send yours that you didn't know about. .3. )

Yep! There it was, the book she held dear to her, She gave out a sigh of relief, knowing that her only real memento of her hometown made it past the journey. She looked up towards the group of Pokemon, which, coincidentally, was the same time the Zangoose had noticed her. The Zangoose almost immediately went back to talking with the Murkrow, It seemed like getting an opening to talk to this group was going to prove to be a challenge...

She pressed forward knowing this, there was no way she was going to make any friends doing absolutely nothing. As she was walking she overheard talk about a tour of the town, "That would be perfect!" she thought to herself. Once she got close enough, The Fletchling stopped and said, "Howdy, I overheard some stuff about a tour? I just arrived here from Aileron Town, so a tour would definitely be appreciated...Oh! My Name's Trucy, by the way. Nice to meet'cha!"

Just then, she heard a shout from behind, calling out the name... Yiga? Yugi? Yigo? She couldn't really hear it clearly amidst all of the other voices around town, so she brushed it off, and figured it was none of her business.

It looked like Radar's reaction had been satisfactory. The dark type was joining the party and even though it was somewhat shy he was grateful. Julie wasn't disagreeing at all either, greeting Radar with open paws or trying to because she got distracted for a moment. Her stutter made Yigo worry for her and focus her attention on what might have caused it "Is everything great, Julie?" He asked, moving to her side once she got on all paws before trying to comfort her with some nuzzling "Don't worry! Grassveil i-"

"Y-Yigo?"

"...f-f-fun?" His voice grew fearful for a moment, shivers crawling down his spine as he had to sit down on his haunches. Why? He didn't know but he had to sit down. Those loving nuzzles soon became pitiful attempts to hide himself from view as he identified the one calling for him. It was Alki, a guild member, the one who once gave him a tour when he was in Radar's situation, the one who once he valued the most and the first to abandon him. Of course that she was going to be in Grassveil, she works there after all, but Yigo was expecting her to be on a mission or simply not encounter her at all. Not only that but she was near, probably in the market area ahead, his first stop.

And then there was the Fletchling, who caught Yigo completely distracted and by surprise causing him to immediately roll into the shape of a ball as a protective measure. It took him a while to realise that the voice of the excited bird pokemon was not the one he had heard before uncurling and saying, "Uhm... H-Hello! I h-have not heard you c-coming, miss Tracy. That was quite a scare, he-hehe-he..." The laugh was not genuine at all but Yigo was trying not to appear startled, not by the earlier voice anyway. Was he hearing things? He couldn't spot Alki's scent nor could he see her colour amidst the pokemon flooding the markets. Perhaps his mind was just playing tricks on him "Well... Let's enter the market. Everything is so pretty there and the smell is great... siiiigh if only I had some poke. I might be a bit hungry" he said, a bit more relieved, as he left Julie's side and began following the road leading to the cluster of colourful tents, all filled to the brim with berries of all kinds and colours, fabrics and silk, incenses, seeds, stones and much much more.

Alki made her way through the crowd after calling out for her friend, pushing and shoving through crowds of Pokemon in a desperate search. She hadn't just imagined it, had she? He was really here? She was more than ready to see him again! She hadn't seen him  in... how long? And now they were meeting in the marketplace? This was amazing!

"Yigo!" She called out again, searching for the source of his voice. He was still here! She could hear him talking and... had he heard her? "YIGO! She called out, louder. Now this was attracting looks from the other pokemon around her, but Alki hardly noticed. Even if she had, she wouldn't have cared. He was here! She pushed through a pair of taller Pokemon, hardly hearing their words of protest, and... there he was! Yigo! The sandshrew, the one she'd met... how long ago? And when was the last time she'd seen him? Far too long ago... She giggled, smiled, and approached him slowly.

There were others around him too, which was the only reason she didn't approach any further. What were they like? She hesitated, and took a step backwards, her joyful giggling giving way to nervousness. "H-Hey, everybody..." There was a Murkrow, a Zangoose, and a Fletchling... except for the Fletchling,all of them were so much larger than her! She looked at Yigo, and managed a smile, before doing her best to establish eye contact with the others.

"H-Hey, I'm Alki... I-I'm an old friend of Yigo's!" She said, nervously pointing at the Sandshrew, hoping that he'd say something back to her soon. She wasn't too good around so many new people...

So just like that, another new friend was tagging along, this was going great! Radar put on a friendly smile towards the other flying type, the more the better! “Hi there, Trucy.” He greeted, internally bubbling with excitement at making yet another friend. “I'm Radar, and I’m kinda new here too, so it’s pretty bizarro seeing so much... newness.” To be honest, he was glad the Fletchling had distracted the group, Radar didn’t even have a clue how he’d answer Julie's question of; What did you come here for? Uhm, I came here trying to run away from my outlaw brother who’s been raising me because my parents abandoned me at a young age? Even Radar knew that would kill his chances at making friends. Maybe try to avoid telling Pokémon his life story, or they might mistake him for being an Outlaw. When Yigo started to lead his tour, Radar could barely stand still, fidgeting with his wings, messing around with the feathers on them. He was happy, he was finally starting to make friends.

Radar was in awe of all the colourful stalls set up in the town centre, the market was just as bright and happy as the town. Shops set up all around, selling all kinds of wondrous things that the Murkrow had never seen before. Sure, obviously Radar had seen berries and scarves before, but that wasn’t what caught the young mon's eye, no. What truly attracted his attention was a dye shop, for starters. What did they do? It was something he’d never seen on his travels to Grassveil Town, so he’d have to try it sometime. Then the next thing that caught his attention was a store called the Herb Stop. It seemed quiet, nice and secluded, it was one of the only stores that didn't have customers milling about through it, buying and or selling things. Radar couldn’t help but wonder what they sold, or if they needed a popularity boost... eh, Radar'd be a frequent customer there soon... once he, uh, figured out what they sold.

The next thing he managed to catch a glimpse of was the To-Goat Café. Maybe a source of food? That would be good. Radar smiled at the café, also slightly wondering what a café was. He probably knew, but forgot soon after. Next up was a Travelling Items Shop, which probably would have come in handy a long time ago for Radar if they sold travel items. What caught his eye next was a shop called The Wizard of Odds. Wizard? Radar noticed this shop for the soul reason of curiosity, wondering what they sold and who this Wizard was. Plus, there were all your berry stores, you could buy scarves, all things Radar had seen before. The dark type looked at his bag, remembering he still had some Poké on him, even though it wasn’t much. He’d save it for later, he didn’t need anything right now.

The one weird thing was the name Yigo being yelled over and over again, he doubted there were many other Yigo around. Radar turned to Yigo, deciding to finally ask if he knew who was shouting, when someone beat him too it. A Jigglypuff had come over and introduced herself, and, well Radar was always happy to make new friends, was a little surprised. She seemed really nervous, was everything okay? Then she said she was an old friend of the Sandshrew currently giving Radar this wonderful tour through town. Yay! Another friend to join them! “My name's Radar. Your friend's just giving me a tour of the town, since I’m hella lost.” He explained, smiling as he did so. The Murkrow couldn't remember the last time he had so much to smile about!

She wasn't against Trucy joining, but while meeting new friends was great, this felt like rapid-fire. Less personal, more mon she had to learn about. Constantly hearing someone call out 'Yigo' as the sandshrew seemed to become upset for... some reason, didn't ease her concerns. She stayed quiet for a while, beginning to think about the story she had told Yigo during their travel to distract herself.
She decided that tomorrow she'd begin writing the first chapter, if she wasn't too busy doing guild stuff or procrastination didn't hit her like a pokemon using Extreme Speed.
Regardless, the tour began and all the mon were in awe as to all the shops around. Julie caught eye of the Wizard of Odd shop and gave a small smirk.

But the voice wouldn't fade.
It just got louder.
Julie looked around a bit, trying not to groan as she seethed through grit teeth, looking worried to Yigo before finally, the source of the voice revealed herself as a jigglypuff named Alki, who introduced themself as Yigo's friend.
'That can't be right...', she thought to herself, 'He seemed to be in so much distress the moment she spoke up... What's her deal?' Clearly, she wasn't quite happy about this new friend. Something was wrong.
"Hello, Alki," she began, with a slightly duller sounding voice, though she didn't want to give it away that she didn't trust the puff, "it's nice to meet you." She forced a smile, but got closer to Yigo, and looked back at him. Was he alright?

She was glad she had finally made her enterance, now she finally made some friends! As soon as she was done with her introduction, the others followed suit. Up first was the Sandshrew, who clearly seemed to be shocked from her sudden appearance... or was he? She had a feeling that someone, or something else was at play here... She carried on, brushing off her suspicions to greet the Sandshrew. “Heya Yigo, It’s nice to meet you, and thank you for the tour!”

She then turned to the Murkrow, who was also new to the town too, which made her a lot more relaxed. “Howdy Radar, I’m glad i’m not the only one who’s treading on new territory, and another Flying type definitely makes me feel right at home!”

Right when she finished greeting Radar, the voice that she had heard got a lot louder and clearer. The voice was calling out for Yigo, who earlier, seemed to look distressed. The one calling out to him finally appeared, it was a Jigglypuff, who claimed to be an “old friend of Yigo’s” “Old friend?” she thought to herself, “Old friend?” What made the two break up in the first place, and why is Yigo acting so weird around her? Something was definitely up, she was one hundred percent sure. “Howdy Alki, nice to meet you.” The Fletching said wearily.

All the troop seemed to be having a good time at the market area. Yigo could spot happiness and awe among the new visitors which filled him with satisfaction. It was all going oh so great. Walking among the tents and stalls was a very relaxing experience as he checked on the weavers with their nifty clothes and on the cooks with their warm and delicious looking food. Afterwards, he was about to snuck up on Radar after catching him eyeing on a shop whose name the Sandshrew could unfortunately not read due to the lack of education before hearing the voice again.

It couldn't be a coincidence anymore. The voice was now clear as day and it came from somewhere close. Alki seemed to be interested in hunting Yigo down by any means. His ears twitched upon identifying the voice while he sat on his haunches and brought his paws to his snout. The balloon Pokémon had finally entered his sight and Yigo could easily see her, squeezing in between some bystanders to get to him. Not only that but her call had also caught the newcomers' attention too as they gathered around them both, Radar even asking about Alki with some interest.

The Jigglypuff introduced herself, a bit shy as usual, and the others greeted her back not before having Julie shelter Yigo with her closeness. Yigo had to say something now, didn't he? Oh dear... "H-Hi... Alki! I didn't know you... Uhm..." Yigo looked around, forcing his paws out of his head, and turned to the group before adding with some anxiety the following "S-She's part of the guild! M-Maybe she can show you around... Right?" His gaze then shifted to Alki as if what he had said was acceptable. Yigo did not want to say nothing at all, not with Alki nearby, but everyone would worry if he didn't. He had to be strong! "Uhm... Julie! You were interested in joining the guild, right? T-This is your chance to meet someone that has... hehe..."

After talking to each side by side, he could see what would happen to Julie if she decided to join the guild. It'd be just like with Alki. She'd join the guild and be so happy about it. She'd talk to Yigo about everything that has happened to her every morning before she goes to work and even invite him to meet her team on join her adventures. It would continue on like that for a week or two until she stops showing up at the front door to meet him. She won't even tell him about where she's going and there will be no more of that fun playtime... Work and her team will become more important than her friendship... And Yigo would have to run off and forget about Julie, just like with Alki. It'd be best to get rid of Julie now that they're merely acquaintances although he'd miss hearing about her stories and talking about seasons...

And her fur was warm and cute...

And she was always so nice to him and...
