First topic message reminder :

[19-10=9]

Opal was very excited. So excited she could barely stop herself from bouncing all over the place and barking with joy! She'd met another pokemon she was unfamiliar with, an absol. He seemed nice enough, if a bit standoffish. No problem, the pup thought. If she could make friends with him, she would. Journeying across the world to see its sights was nicer when you had someone to share it with! Unaware that the dark type differed slightly in attitude, she eagerly trotted alongside him.

"So, which way are we going? I haven't been here before. This is so cool! My first mystery dungeon!"

The growlithe didn't quite remember how they'd come to this agreement. To her, though, that didn't matter. What mattered is they were now exploring the mystery dungeons of Pricklemist Hill, and that was amazing. Opal felt proud and determined to show her worth. She was a proper adventurer now, with an adventuring partner! The fiery canine couldn't wait to get started!

Deimos had carefully advanced closer to the Spoink while maintainingn lunging distance towards Opal. Now fully manifesting a pair of spectral claws upon his frontal right paw, he was going to stick close. The Spoink were a giant target for ghostly apparitions by their own typing designation. His instincts screamed to stay close to the most obvious target and to guard it. He was well built for handling ghost types so he in truth intended to stay close to them specifically as a warning to stay away.

When one of the Gastly made it's appearance near them however, Deimos pounced upon the target, going for a swift vertical swipe of his ghost type claws. He wanted to make it absolutely clear that if they wanted the items they'd have to deal with him and his arsenal of moves first.

[+1 energy from new page=1]

The Gastly screeched as spectral claws tore into it. This isn't how the plan was supposed to go! Robbing these Spoink was supposed to be child's play! Curse that Absol! Yes... Curse... That was the solution. The ball of floating gas turned to the fuzzy white meddler and stared him straight in the eye. He'd have to weaken himself to weaken the interloper, but the payoff would be worth it. He just had to get a Curse off before he was struck again...

Meanwhile, the gas ball harassing Opal was realising that the Growlithe wouldn't be falling for Hypnosis. Instead, it tried to lick the pup, hoping to paralyse her with ghostly dread. Said pup was having none of that, however, and leapt forward to bite the tongue. Ouch! Those fangs were sharp!

Deimos held his ground after the swipe of his spectral claws, instinctively slamming the paw upon the ground after the strike to initiate a follow through. Deimos had always pressed a paw down upon the earth to activate his lone projectile based attack, preferring it to any kind of lunge or announcement. He had always reckoned it was better off as a surprise than an attack to permanently rely on. Once again, his target was the Gastly before him, one he quite visibly showed not a single ounce of fear for.

Deimos glared back into the enemies eyes, before a small smirk formed, as if mocking his foe. Deimos intended to try and enrage the opponent, hoping that would drop it's guard. He figured if he could keep the enemy distracted while the stone was on the way it would be beneficial. Stone edge didn't have the best reputation for it's average accuracy. Deimos preferred to try and compensate for that.

Oh, that smug bastard, the Gastly thought. How dare they mock me so! The ball of gas became furious and unable to concentrate on the curse they had intended to put on the Absol. In a fit of fury, they rushed forward blindly, tongue right out. They would slap that white brute silly and paralyse him! Let the power of ghosts be known to all who challenged it!

Opal was prevailing against her Gastly. The creature managed to get in a lick, but those biting jaws caused them to recoil in horror and prevented a second attack. Forget it, Lick wasn't working. Time to try another Hypnosis. Anything to stop that horrible little beast from sinking its fangs in!

Deimos merely took a step back as a response, giving a small amount of ground to the enemy in order to maintain his ploy. The enemy had fallen for his original ruse, hook line and sinker. He didn't exactly want to ruin it by being overly agressive, for fear of getting hit by his own attack. The lack of strong hides or scales and the like upon his species naturally didn't do well for his physical defensive strength. Couple that with the natural might of Stone edge, self harm would be quite unpleasant.

Forming abnormally long spectral talons upon his frontal right paw, Deimos now held his ground, intending to try and time a swift forward stab with the imminent Stone edge which would erupt before him momentarilly. Might as well at the very least make an example of this one.

Deimos' gastly flew straight into his barrage of powerful attacks. There was an ear-piercing screech as the ghost was defeated and faded from view. This alerted the one who was fighting Opal. It suddenly became fearful. If this growlithe was causing such trouble, what hope did it have against the stronger absol? The gastly decided not to stick around any longer, and fled into the night.

The pair of spoink bounced and cheered. "Thank you for saving us!" one exclaimed. The other added, "Yes, thank you! Now we don't have to worry about them stealing our items!"

Both of them talked to each other for a bit, then the first one addressed Opal and Deimos again. "We found some extra things just before those horrid gastlys came. Why don't you take them as our thanks?"
