That Not-so Pandora's Box Empty
PostSubject: Re: That Not-so Pandora's Box   That Not-so Pandora's Box EmptySat Dec 17, 2016 3:44 pm

[Energy: 16 - 10 = 6]

"I can do it!"  Alki said, miserably. Four days! It had been four days and she was more tired than she'd ever been. Even more so than when she fought her sister! But Alki didn't want Yooka to know. That'd be embarrassing, and she was part of the guild now! She had expectations to live up to... Even if she wasn't particularly capable. "I'm not tired at all..."  She said, but her bounces were noticeably small, and even with the smaller bounces, she still had to stop and rest for a few seconds every couple of minutes.

But it could've been worse. From what Alki understood, all they had to was get someone a box that they dropped. Or something like that? Yooka had read her the thingy. The... Quest? Mission? Task? Something like that... But she'd kind of zoned out. And she'd tried to read it by herself, but it was awfully hard. And she didn't want to embarrass herself, so she just went along with whatever Yooka said. After all, if Darcy could trust Yooka, Alki could as well.

"I-I'm ready to do my job! She said to Yooka. Even if she didn't know what that job was... She looked up at the hill and saw... A house? Hmm. It didn't look very nice. Maybe that's where her job was? That's where they were supposed to go, right? Everything else was so dreary!

Yooka would question her, she'd probably notice that Alki was tired and she'd probably be disappointed. Alki bounced towards the house, eager to get away and prove her wrong. "S-See! I'm fine! She yelled, as she struggled to climb the hill, attempting to get to the house in top. She stumbled quite a few times, and her shape didn't help. She found herself almost rolling down the hill quite often.

What would happen? Alki didn't even quite know what was going on herself. She was still awfully new to this whole guild business... What if she messed up? Yooka might not be too happy with her... She wouldn't! She'd do great! She had to, Darcy would be really happy if she did well... She just had to do this right!

That Not-so Pandora's Box Empty
PostSubject: Re: That Not-so Pandora's Box   That Not-so Pandora's Box EmptySun Dec 18, 2016 4:40 am

Alki heard a sigh from behind her as she stumbled up the hill. It was coming from Yooka. Had she done something won't? Why was she sighing? Alki tripped and began to roll down the hill, unable to catch herself, before crashing into Yooka. She seemed to be thinking. Alki had heard a few snippets of words as she rolled. Something about being tired? She was pretty tired, and she was apparently easier to read than she'd hoped. It was written all over her? Her mouth twisted into a small frown.

Alki was about to get up, but Yooka began to talk. A lot, about plenty of things. Boxes, for one. And the hill and something else.  Shelmet? What was that? She could recall Yooka reading something like that to her when they took the job. But... she hadn't really payed attention. And after the first hour of Yooka talking, she stopped paying attention as well. She was suddenly aware that she'd been lying down, looking up at the huge Kecleon. At least compared to the less-than-a-foot tall Alki. Why was she talking so much? Honestly, Alki began to get nervous. Was she supposed to answer? She could barely understand!

Alki pretended to listen for the next hour, and the second, and third, but it was just so much! If she had to listen anymore, she'd probably pass out! But she couldn't interrupt. She'd gotten yelled at for less before. So instead she bounced away, and attempted to climb the hill again. There were still a couple mishaps here and there, but by the hour's end, she'd finally gotten to the top! She looked down at Yooka, down at the bottom of the hill. She was so tall! The tallest Pokemon in the world! She bounced up and down happily, giggling. "Y-Yooka, look! I'm taller now! She shouted, laughing now. It was quiet, she didn't have to listen to a rant about boxes!

Alki continued to gloat, it wasn't every day the Igglybuff got to brag about height. She was kinda short, even by her species standards. So she really enjoyed it, to say the least. "I'm so tall! Tall, tall, tall!" she shouted, bouncing higher and higher with each word, all but oblivious to the house behind her.

That Not-so Pandora's Box Empty
PostSubject: Re: That Not-so Pandora's Box   That Not-so Pandora's Box EmptySun Dec 18, 2016 2:59 pm

That certainly made Yooka hurry! Hopefully she had gotten all those words out of her system. That wasn't very pleasant, having to be subject to so many words! Alki stopped bouncing, and simply waited. To be honest, now that her fear of Yooka's words had gone, it had been replaced by fear of the place. It was still kinda misty, and dark, and scary. She hadn't realized it climbing up, but the woods were quite... Creepy? The trees were certainly tall. She shouldn't have gone alone.

Alki sat down, waiting for Yooka to arrive at the top. Alki went through the list of moves she knew. She couldn't help but feel like something bad might happen. No! She was just being silly. The job was to find a box. What could go wrong if all they were doing was trying to find a box? Nothing, that's what!

Yooka was in sight now. She was going awfully fast. Alki waved at her, happy that the Kecleon was with her. Now she'd be safe! Er... Hopefully. Even with Yooka nearby, she was still a bit afraid of the house. Who would drop a box in this house? They must've been awfully foolish. Why would they be there?

"Sorry I went up ahead... I-it's just... So many words! Words... How did anyone have so many words in them? That was ridiculous! "I don't really like so many words..." Alki preferred to keep her thoughts inside, to herself. But right now, something was bothering Alki so much that she couldn't just keep her thoughts to herself.

"D-Do we have to go inside that house?" Alki asked, pale. Thinking about going inside that scary, run down house wasn't fun, and the cold mist wasn't helping her nerves... "It looks scary...."

That Not-so Pandora's Box Empty
PostSubject: Re: That Not-so Pandora's Box   That Not-so Pandora's Box EmptyMon Dec 19, 2016 4:02 pm

[Energy = 6 - 5 = 1]

Alki smiled as she saw Yooka hurrying. For one, it was a bit funny to make Yooka run so fast. She must've really liked being taller than Alki. She didn't notice any semblance of fear in the Kecleon, but Alki wasn't very good at reading emotions. She began to hum a small, happy song. It was quiet on the hill, and Yooka didn't make her talk much.

Although Yooka did talk a fair amount herself. Alki listened carefully to Yooka's explanation of the house. So it was supposed to be abandoned? But there could still be Pokemon inside. That was... Pretty interesting! Maybe the Pokemon inside were friendly? Maybe... Alki enjoyed the relative silence. It kept her calm, and let her think. She sat down and closed her eyes, enjoying it.

Although, come to think of it, she could hear a noise off in the distance? It sounded like talking? She gasped. Talking wasn't fun, why would Alki want to go towards the words?  But the words were inside the house! The cool, maybe-abandoned house. She bounced up and walked towards it. Alki's time with Darcy had taught her she should open up to more Pokemon. She'd made her best friend because she'd opened up! If she hadn't she wouldn't have met Darcy...

"I'll go with you!" She whispered quietly, excited fear audible in her voice. As she was bouncing towards Yooka, she noticed a Haunter heading towards them. While Yooka knocked, Alki pushed on the door, trying to get it to open up. There was a Ghost! She didn't like Ghosts. She'd gotten into a fight with one once. She'd felt sick for a couple of days afterwards, she'd lost that fight pretty badly. She didn't want to get into another fight! She pushed frantically, trying to get the door to nudge.

Thankfully, the door swung open, allowing Alki inside. Unfortunately, she fell forward, not expecting the door to open so suddenly. She rolled a few times, before rolling into a wall and stopping, with an upside-down view of the world.

"Hello, little one." She heard a voice say. It wasn't unkind, but it was a bit scary. She looked around for the source of the voice. And she saw a Ghost type! A Gastly. She remembered hearing that they were poison types too. Poison really hurt Alki. She was a fairy, after all. She leaned against the wall, upside down and paralyzed with fear. "I wont hurt you." It said. Alki whimpered, but nodded. It was still awfully scary. She looked around and saw a couple of other Pokemon. A Furfrou and Kricketot. The Kricketot was carrying something away, although Alki couldn't quite see what it was. The Gastly turned to look at Yooka, who was still at the doorway. "Anything we can help you with? Pokemon don't usually come around here."

"W-why do you live here? It doesn't seem L-like a very nice p-p-place..." Alki mumbled, trying to be a bit more talkative. But it didn't work, that was horrible! She slid down the wall and onto her back, staring up at the Gastly. "S-Sorry..."

That Not-so Pandora's Box Empty
PostSubject: Re: That Not-so Pandora's Box   That Not-so Pandora's Box EmptyMon Dec 19, 2016 8:35 pm

The Gastly, honestly, didn't seem too bad. Alki didn't think so. It was a ghost type, but it hadn't done any scary ghost-type-stuff yet, so it was alright in Alki's book. But it still sounded creepy... and the laughter! Alki shuddered, remembering it. "P-Please d-don't do that again..." Alki mumbled. But she was met with laughter, from the Gastly. And to her, it felt as though it went on even longer than last time. She didn't like it, but what could she do? Her arms sagged, but she looked up at the sound of a low growl.

It was the Furfrou. She hadn't payed much attention to it before, it hadn't said anything! But looking at it now... she'd missed a few things. For one, it's fur. It was messed up, gnarled and curled and uneven and matted with dirt. A lot of dirt, too. He'd been dirty for a long time. It growled at Alki even more, and she looked away at the sound of the second growl. But from the look of it's eyes, it's dirty fur, and the fact that it hadn't said anything yet, made her think... was it a Feral? It couldn't be, but at the same time, Alki couldn't think of any reason a normal Pokemon like her or Yooka or Darcy would act that way.

Yooka had begun to tell the Gastly of why they were there. Wait... Alki was still learning? She opened her mouth to say something, but nothing came out. She was, wasn't she? She was learning a lot of things. Exploration and Reading and Travelling, for example. She'd been reading with Darcy, and she thought she'd gotten a bit better at it. And joining the guild had made her feel a bit more confident about herself too. It had been a nice few days, since she'd met Darcy. But now she was with Yooka, and she had to try and help Yooka. And that meant focusing on their job. Alki sat down and began to think of what had been going on.

The box. Of course! The thing the Kricketot had been carrying earlier... it was a box. Right? Alki thought so. Although she may have just been imagining things. After all, wasn't it a saying that you remembered what you wanted to remember? Or something like that... the point being, Alki might be wrong. But where else could the box be, if not in the building? They'd searched the base of the hill. Alki had even looked around for a bit while Yooka was talking. So it couldn't be down there, and the hill seemed too steep for a box to just be lying there. It would've rolled down to or near the base of the hill. So Yooka and Alki had either missed the box at the base of the hill, or it was in the house. Alki decided she'd confront the Ghosts.

"A-Actually, s-something w-was o-on my mind... too?" She began, nervously. She'd never done anything like it before. But this whole situation seemed a bit off. It was all well and good if they enjoyed living in the house. The Gastly hadn't answered about the Box, and the Kricketot had taken it's sweet time coming back. "Ahem... s-see... there's... two places the box could be. A-At the base of the hill... a-and up here. Anywhere else it w-would've fallen down... t-to the base. I think... right?" She looked at Yooka for re-assurance. She was trying her best to help out, but she didn't feel comfortable at all.

At this moment a Haunter decided to come in and talk to them. Another ghostly voice... Alki grew pale, as she realized it was behind her. She began to shake, it was really... ghostly. How to describe it? Low and moaning and shaky and scary... Alki shuddered. Fairy voices sounded nice. That's what Alki thought, but then, she might be a bit biased. She shook her head. She couldn't forget her train of thought.

"A-Anyways... m-my point is. The box c-can only be up here, or at the bottom of the hill. And we searched the bottom of the hill p-pretty thoroughly... s-so. I'd like to ask you, have you seen a small, blue, box?" She finished. She'd done her best. Hopefully she'd done well. She looked at Yooka and smiled a bit. Had she? Then she looked at the Gastly, waiting for an answer. Maybe she'd done a good job and he'd confess he'd taken the box? Although that didn't seem very likely. She shrunk back against the wall, suddenly feeling scared at what she'd just done. What had come over her? She was stupid... her face paled again, hopefully everything would be alright...

That Not-so Pandora's Box Empty
PostSubject: Re: That Not-so Pandora's Box   That Not-so Pandora's Box EmptyTue Dec 20, 2016 6:50 pm

Alki watched as Yooka smirked. She went along with it. Did that mean she'd done well? Maybe? She gave a small, bright smile. She had! But... why were the ghosts giggling? She heard an exasperated puff from the Furfrou. Her smile faded as quickly as it had appeared. They wouldn't be laughing if she'd done well... she shrunk back against the wall and simply listened as Yooka talked. Better than Alki. But... she was still learning... she could still do better next time? And not get laughed at... but the Kricketot wasn't laughing. It was shaking. Yooka noticed it too.

Why did the ghosts call themselves big kids? That made Alki a little kid. She wasn't a little kid, she wasn't a baby anymore. How could they say that? She wasn't grown up, sure, but she had as much a place talking in that hallway as Yooka! She was part of the guild too! Even if she'd forgotten her badge at home... Ok, maybe she still needed to work on some things. But that was a bit rude of the Ghosts! But she had to go with it, didn't she? Yooka wanted her to talk to the Kricketot, that much was clear. So she'd give it a shot. She meekly bounced towards the Kricketot and grabbed one of it's hands, leading it into a room on the far end of the hallway, away from the Gastly and the Haunter and the Furfrou and Yooka.

Once inside, she pushed the large door closed, and turned to look at the Kricketot. It was shaking a bit back in the hallway, but now... well, Alki didn't know what it was shaking like. Actually... it was shaking like Alki was, that day in the Market in Grassveil. When she'd met Yooka. It was scared. Terrified, even. Of Alki? But it was even a bit taller than her... why was it scared? "S-Sorry if that was a b-bit sudden..." Alki said. In hindsight, dashing like that through the hallway wasn't a good idea. If Yooka had done that the first time they'd met, she would've been terrified... "S-Sorry. I-I'm Alki..." She said, holding out a hand for him to shake. But he didn't. He continued to tremble and he seemed absolutely terrified. Alki had already made a mistake...

"I-I didn't mean to spook you..." She said again. Maybe if she gave her something? She took out the Gummi she'd taken from home when she'd run away. She thought it looked really nice. But she didn't have much use for it, did she? And maybe it'd help the Kricketot feel better. She took it out of her bag and placed it on the ground in front of him. "H-Here... m-maybe you'd like this?" She offered. The Kricketot stopped shaking, and smiled a bit. He took the Gummi. Alki let out a small, relieved sigh. If that hadn't worked, she didn't know what she would've done. Why did Yooka want her to do this? She wasn't any better at talking than she was... that had just been a mistake! She didn't know what made her talk like that. But now that she was here, she had to try? Didn't she?

"W-What's your name?" She asked, and then waited. No answer. He didn't seem too happy to be there, and kept glancing at the door. "Erm... t-that doesn't matter. I was just wondering... have... y-you seen a box? Blue-ish..." What a great description... she took a deep breath, and looked at the Kricketot. Wait... he was shaking again. Alki thought he'd stopped? And he spoke, too! "I-I don't know..." He said, shaking. "I-I was... I haven't seen a box anywhere. I promise! I like to collect stuff, b-but I don't have a blue box!" He practically yelled at Alki. This time it was her turn to stumble back, shaking. The Kricketot saw how afraid she was, and frowned. "S-Sorry, I'm just... w-worried... I haven't seen a box though!"

Alki took a moment to compose herself before taking a deep breath. "I saw you carrying something earlier..." She said, but with these words the Kricketot began to worry. He was shaking, yet again, and his eyes darted every which way. He opened and closed his mouth a couple of times, struggling to find words, before backing off towards the door. "I r-really haven't seen a box..."

"Can I see your collection then?" Alki asked, and was a meant by a push from the now-terrified Kricketot, before he began to run away. "P-Please! T-That box isn't... y-yours!" She called out, as she got up, and then began bouncing after the Kricketot.

"Now that the children are gone... well. I found the Igglybuff a bit annoying, don't you think?" He said, looking at the Haunter. They both giggled again, and then turned to look at Yooka. "We don't have a box. Not me or him or the Kricketot or the Furfrou." The Gastly said, starting to sound a bit exasperated. "So I'll ask you and your little friend to please leave. We were... going to do stuff." At this moment, Alki and the Kricketot chose to come out of the room. The Kricketot ran straight towards the two ghosts, hiding behind the two. Alki looked up at the ghosts, and backed off. It didn't help that the Kricketot began to say something that was really not good for Alki.

"T-That Fairy was being mean to me..." It said, and Alki's eyes bugged out, before she scrambled to hide behind Yooka. How would the Ghosts react? The Kricketot was staring at Alki, looking almost sorry. She supposed that she had been a bit brusque. What if the Ghosts yelled at her or attacked her? What was she doing! She could defend herself... "N-No... I-I wasn't! I t-t-think you h-have the box..." She looked up at Yooka, desperately hoping that the Kecleon could back her up.

That Not-so Pandora's Box Empty
PostSubject: Re: That Not-so Pandora's Box   That Not-so Pandora's Box EmptyWed Dec 21, 2016 1:45 am

Alki felt faint. A spanking? She didn't want to get spanked. At all! Why should she get spanked? She felt a moan escape her. How did this happen? What did she do so wrong? She couldn't defend herself from two ghosts [i] and [i] the Furfrou. Honestly? She probably wouldn't be able to defend herself from even one of them, let alone three. Although, thank Arceus that Yooka hadn't left her. Alki grabbed Yooka's tail, and continued to shake, staring at the Kricketot. Her eyes must've been quite desperate, because the Kricketot began to let out a nervous laugh.

"Heh. Heh, Heh, Heh. Sorry guys. M-Me and the F-Fairy were just p-playing..." The Kricketot said, whereupon the two Ghost types exchanged looks. The Furfrou let out a huff, but didn't sit back down, and instead remained tense and standing, staring at Alki and Yooka. Alki felt a draft of wind. Wait, she was back outside? She hadn't even realized. How had she ended up outside? Although, being outside sounded pretty nice. Why be inside with the scary ghost and the little Kricketot who had to be the most indecisive Pokemon she'd ever met. Why put her on the spot like that? She thought she was going to explode from fear. The ghosts had been looking at her so strangely...

"I-I don't want to get a spanking..." She mumbled, but the ghosts heard, and began to laugh loudly. On and On and On... Alki whimpered, but didn't say anything. Last time she'd asked them to stop, they hadn't. Had they? They'd kept on going, and louder. Why do that again? She simply gripped Yooka's hand tightly and counted down the seconds for them to stop. Five. Ten. Fifteen. Twenty... Twenty Five seconds of bone-chilling laughter. It was horrible. Alki felt a few tears in her eyes, but quickly wiped them away before Yooka noticed. Or the ghosts...

The Kricketot walked nervously towards Yooka and Alki. He stood in front of Alki and offered a sheepish, almost apologetic smile. "S-Sorry I pushed you... " He said, looking up at Yooka. "I just get scared easily..." He talked even softer than Alki! Although, if she thought about it, he did live with ghosts. He had an excuse to be scared like that. Ghost Types could be pretty scary.

"It's ok... but you do have the box?" She asked. The Ghosts didn't seem to be paying much attention anymore. The Kricketot suddenly became focused on a rather rotted plank of wood by them. Alki wondered how anybody lived in a house like that. But then again, the Ghosts didn't really have to worry about planks of wood, did they? She felt a pang of sympathy for the Kricketot. That house must've been a horrible place to live. Alki could barely notice a nod from the Kricketot. "You do?" Another, more noticeable nod.

"B-But I don't want to give it up. I really like it... sorry, Fairy." Alki shuffled her feet nervously. There wasn't much she could do, if he didn't want to give it up. And she didn't like being called Fairy. Why did he call her that? Come to think of it, how did he know she was a fairy? She pondered this for a bit, before realizing that he must've read it in a book. Of course!

"N-Nothing we can do to convince you otherwise?" Alki asked, before feeling too embarrassed to continue. The ghosts were laughing an awful lot, and the Furfrou wasn't even paying attention. And it was really dark. And a bit scary. Especially with those ghosts right there... she looked at Yooka, hoping for a bit of help.
