A temporary guardian

Niracamda was making her way towards Pecha Forest. As Deimos couldn't go with her, she had to search for someone else to guard her. The shiny Houndour actually had considered going alone, but after meeting that Houndoom in Grassveil, she didn't want to do that. He had been really scary and strong. Niracamda got the idea she and the Treecko were lucky to have survived that encounter. She hoped she wouldn't come across the Houndoom again. She glanced at the Pokemon that was walking next to her. It was a Fennekin named Cana. She was in general pretty shy and it took a while to get Cana to trust her. She was happy that she was willing to go with them. Pecha forest was not far ahead. They would soon reach the entrance.

Cana was still wondering why she had agreed to go to Pecha with the Houndour. She had seem really nice, that is true, but could she really trust the shiny Pokemon? The Fennekin glanced at her. She seemed happy to her. No, Cana knew she could trust Niracamda. The Fennekin averted her attention back to the forest in front of them. They had reached the entrance by now. She wondered what they would find in this forest. Cana hoped she wasn't going to come across any Nidorino or Nidorina. They poisoned her last time they were here and were pretty strong.

As the two fire types reached the entrance, they looked up at the trees in front of them. They had reached the dungeon now. Without saying a word, they walked further down the path, into the forest.

Lady Jasper frowned at the site of the bandages around the dual fire type's paw, nodding slowly, “Pokemon tend to gang up on others who are weak, look different, or act different. While it is true that not all pokemon will judge for differences, most of them cannot help but act unlike themselves just because another is different from the expectations they set. It's a shame really, but it is reality.” The vulpix sighed lightly through her nose, she closed her eyes for just a moment, then opened them again, “I've my fair experiences with bullies and outlaws, especially during my time traveling alone from the volcanic mountains to come to Grassveil. Yes, it is better to travel in groups, much better than being alone.”

The lady smiled wistfully, her tails growing stagnate and curling around her back legs. She acknowledged Cana by looking directly at her, though thoughts of morals drifted into her mind due to her previous words. “*(muttered) This world is full of its rights and wrongs, but is there truly any wrong way or right way to live...?* Oh never mind me, I'm in no position to ask these questions. What I should be saying is that if we keep our wits and not let ourselves get trapped with a dangerous pokemon, I'm sure we can get what we need without excessive harm upon us.”

The fox pokemon turned away from the others, looking down the path that she was walking up before the other fire types arrived. She perked her ears up and listened for something, but it was mostly silent.
“Perhaps we should carry on into the forest?” she inquired softly, eyes still looking into the trees around the path.

Niracamda knew that lady Jasper was right. That was how the world worked after all. "Wild Pokemon are less likely to attack groups. It also gives a better chance at getting away if there are more Pokemon. At least, if the Pokemon fight. In our case, coming across a group of ferals is not going to end well." Niracamda looked over at the Vulpix. It seemed she was spacing out for a bit. She could barely hear what she said, but it did make sense. What is right and what is wrong? Even she did not know. When lady Jasper asked if they should move on, Nira stood up. "I think that might be better. What do you think, Cana?" The Houndour looked at the Fennekin next to her.


Cana knew pretty well what the Vulpix meant. She too had gone through forms of bullying, although in her case it was probably far worse than most. Memories started to rise up. Things she did not want to remember. The Fennekin shook her head and quickly pushed those memories back. She then noticed that lady Jasper was looking at her. Could she tell? Cana was getting nervous and looked away. She was listening half to what they were saying. She looked up a bit confused when Nira talked to her. "Oh um... Yes, we should go." She said in a rather quiet voice.

Lady Jasper smiles at her fellow fire types over her shoulder, "Lovely~ Hopefully this day will end in our favor." The fox kept her trot at a even pace, the fur on her neck tingling as she moved. There was definitely something else is the vicinity that has to be focusing on her... it was quite concerning, but the Vixen was settled from discomfort with two Pokemon to accompany her. Now what was it that she came here for again? Ah yes, for any useful items to use as food or decor, she needs to start focusing on that now that they're on the move.

Following that, the vixen sniffed the air, looking for any scents that indicates that berries are near by. Immediately she noticed the smells of other Pokemon instead of berries uphill, she made a mental note to keep that in mind. Then she went back to focusing on other smells in the area. It only took a few more seconds of walking before the Vulpix noticed something pink sitting in the bushes, the fox slowly moved off course to walk over to the object. "Ah! A gummi! That would make a lovely decoration or food for the party if I gather more of these up. Though that may take awhile..." The vixen quickly picked the gummi up and popped it into her bag, happy that she made her first find of the day. Thankfully it didn't smell like Pokemon, so it most likely belongs to no other but herself now.

Cana and Niracamda followed after the Vulpix. The small Houndour had a bit of trouble with her leg, but she didn't complain. She should probably not have left town while she was still recovering, but she really wanted to come to the forest to explore. Cana glanced around nervously, expecting to be ambushed at any moment. How come they didn't come across any Pokemon yet? It seemed weird to her. Maybe they were just lucky? Maybe they wouldn't come across any ferals at all. They just had to be careful and keep their eyes open. The company of the others did help her relax though. She felt a lot safer with them than she would have felt if she came alone.

Nircamda noticed the Fennekin was a bit tense and moved closer. "We will be fine, don't worry." She told her. Cana glanced at the Houndour for a moment and decided she was right and relaxed a bit. It was not exactly fun to be tense the whole time. She could smell ferals, and she was sure the others could too. They didn't seem nearby at least.

The two fire types looked as lady Jasper found a gummi. Cana looked around her, and noticed that there was an apple laying under one of the apple trees. Even though this forest was full of Pecha Berry trees, there were still some other trees that grew there. They were just less common. The Fennekin walked over to it and picked it up, happy to have found something as well. She walked with the apple to the Vulpix and dropped it in front of her. "Um... You can take this.." She said quietly. "I just found it under that tree..."

"Oh?" The vulpix looked down at the apple the Fennekin had offered her, then she looked up at the other fire type and smiled, "Thank you Cana, I'll be sure to use it for the party as well!" The vixen exclaimed happily, she gently took the apple and placed it in her bag. With that done, the fox continued her walk on the path, glad that this trip was going far more successful then her last. Those gummies are quite valuable, she just has to find more for her stores while she could! Though that is unlikely, since they are rare and she never had the best of luck.

"I wonder if there are any Life seeds here," she said aloud, looking up into the trees hanging overhead, "I know I need those for the gifts, but he asked me to find some too. I know there are some in the shops, but those are a tad to expensive for my current poke. If I don't find any here, I suppose I'll have to travel to more dangerous dungeons..." she frowned at that thought. It seems that her job is sending her to more and more dangerous places, some of them she knows that she doesn't have the energy to travel all the way there, and then be to weak to even search the dungeon. This lack of knowledge is slowly starting to become an inconvenience.

She thought back to her new traveling companions of a second, would they know where to find Life seeds? Well, she'll never know if she doesn't ask, "Nircamda, Cana, do any of you happen to know where to acquire life seeds? I have a dire need for them, but I haven't managed to stumble across any so far."
