Kyraen hopped along the pebbled path that led to the Small Pond, just outside the Grassveil Town boundaries. He had given his brother, Keenan, and his sister, Krystine, the slip when they had all gone to the market for groceries. One moment he was behind the two older eevee, and the next, he had disappeared in the crowd, slinking off to do some exploring on his own. He loved his siblings, but they could be a bit overbearing and overprotective sometimes.
He didn't know why, of course. The world was full of friendly pokemon just waiting for the silver-colored eevee to make friends with; why his siblings wanted him to stay away from all that was beyond the simple-minded furball. So he bounced happily along, humming to himself, a little diddy that his parents had taught him when he was young.
"What a great big world, a sight to behold; what a perfect place to be~♫ What a great big world for life to unfold, and it's filled with mystery~♫ All my friends are gathered around and its such a sight to see~♫ And we work and play and we get through the day, like a great big family~♫"

| "Nope! It's not one of the Bulbasaur line," he replied with a chuckle, his eyes following the excitable Eevee as he jumped around him, "The pokemon i'm thinking of also does not have four legs, but it does have some legs," he continued, answering each of Kyraen's questions in turn.
This particular pokemon was one he'd seen around Grassveil in his youth, as many of his choices in this game were likely to be. It appeared to be a little more of a challenge for the young Eevee as he'd been deliberately more vague with his description than he had with his previous pokemon.

| "Hmmm..." Kyraen hummed thoughtfully. "Uh, legs but its not four-legged. Maybe Snivy or its evolutions?" he looked at his newfound friend with confusion. He wasn't sure if he was right or not. It could also be talking about maybe chespin. Or even bellsprout?
He rolled over, pawing at the air in a stretch as he waited for his friend to answer him. The eevee was in a very good mood, as was pretty much normal for the silver-furred fox pokemon. He hummed a tune that he remembered his parents singing to each other sometimes.

| Another very thought through guess from Kyraen, but alas not the pokemon that Russell was thinking of. "Nope, not any of the Snivy line either," he replied. He certainly had made this one much harder with the vagueness of his first statement. Perhaps he could give another clue to the shiny Eevee? He wasn't sure what he could say about his chosen pokemon without making it entirely obvious though...
"It's often seen to prefer being active at night," the Burmy then spoke, remembering this small tidbit about the pokemon in question. Night was a beautiful time to be awake sometimes, especially when one could see all the stars, but personally he wouldn't want to live his entire life under the cover of darkness when there was also so much to see through the light of the sun.

| "hmm. Active at night... Is it an oddish?" Kyraen asked. He think he had it this time but he wasn't for sure. He hoped he got it right this time!
It was then that Kyraen's two siblings appeared at the entrance to the Small Pond. Upon seeing Kyraen at the edge of the pond, the two bigger eevee rushed over to Kyraen, nosing him and sniffing at him in concern.
"Kyraen! You shouldn't have left us!" his sister, Krystine, said.
"Yeah, what if something had happened to you?" his brother, Keenan, added.
"But it was booooring going shopping!" Kyraen whined, his ears falling against his skull. He looked at his newest friend. "Oh! Russell! These are my siblings, Krystine and Keenan! They're my best friends in the whole wide world! Guys, this is Russell the burmy! Russell, like the rustle of leaves!" He burst out, giggling.

| Russell nodded eagerly to the Eevee's answer, his expression widening into a bright smile, "Yep that's right!" he grinned. Kyraen's knowledge of other pokemon certainly was very good for him to know all of this. After all, the shiny Eevee was quite a bit younger than himself, and even Russell still had things to learn about when it came to other species of pokemon.
When Kyraen's siblings arrived and were introduced, Russell nodded politely to them, unable to wave in greeting due to his small feet being hidden within his autumnal leaf cloak. "Nice to meet you both," the Burmy smiled, chuckling lightly at the youngster's predicament. Shopping had never been his favourite thing as a kid either. Well... unless you counted the trips to the Kecleon store where lots of explorers could be found to purchase the items they'd need for their explorations.
