| Energy: 22-20=2 Today is not gonna be a good day, thought Sentinel to himself as he glided up to the mouth of Serene Cave. It was damp here, and it looked like it was going to rain… no, not rain. It looked like it was going storm like mad. The wind was picking up and Sentinel regretted coming here today, but he’d come too far to just go back to town. Besides, at this point it would probably be drier to head inside. The maw of Serene cave didn’t look all too serene in these conditions; nothing like the pleasant vista that he had encountered at the Fallen Leaf Copse. The wind was whistling and thunder could be heard growling in the distance. Sentinel began spinning slowly, heating up his body against the fast winds as he gently glided past the tall entrance. Inside, Sentinel heard the dripping of water echoing hauntingly through the shady corridors. The walls smelled strongly of damp stone and soil, and looking ahead there seemed to be branching paths, just as he had heard from others. “We’re in for the long haul, it seems.” Whispered the less-than-eager Solrock under his breath. “But the sun must shine his light wherever he goes!” And with that he began letting off some golden light, scouting out the road ahead. A clap of thunder accompanied by the applause of pouring rain outside meant there was no turning back now. |

Zorre prowled along the path that led up to a large cave mouth. He was searching for an easy prey today. It had been a while since he had caught a beautiful Darling for himself to play with, not since he had been caught himself and used as someone else's darling... But that day he did not care to look back upon, the horrid glaceon and the cracking of his arm was not something he wished to think on any longer. At least his arm had been fixed in the intervening weeks since, though it was still delicate and hurt sometimes, especially when it got wet, as if it had arthritis in the joints.
Speaking of wetness, Zorre could smell the rain in the air, a heavy, pregnant pause in the currents around him. There was a storm coming, and one he did not want to be caught in. He hadn't meant to go so far from his home, but now he was out in the open, farther from home than he ought to be in this weather.
Which left only the choice to seek shelter in the cave up ahead. Perhaps there would be a precious pokemon to mess with, lurking for shelter in the cave as well? That might be a good idea, now that Zorre happened upon it. So with a menacing grin, the black-colored scyther stalked toward the cave opening and darted inside. It was cold and damp in the cave, but better than the heavy weight of the air outside, which bespoke of howling winds and crashing thunder.

| Delving deeper into the reaches of the mysterious cavern, Sentinel began to feel worried as thunder continued to explode around him. It sounded as if the very rocks of the walls were heaving under the pressure of the storm. Could this place cave in? Probably not, considering how sturdy the structure looked, but even so Sentinel was cautious. The cave’s acoustics soon carried a message from the entrance. In echoed whispers, Sentinel heard what was unmistakably another Pokemon entering the cave behind him. It sounded as if it had claws, big ones at that, scratching against the sandy floor. Since his movement through midair was so silent, Sentinel didn’t think the other Pokemon would be able to notice him the same way… but at the rate those jagged footsteps were approaching the stranger would be upon him shortly. It’s probably another adventurer escaping the storm, thought the Solrock. They’re probably wet and cold by now. I ought to help them. Sentinel turned towards the path he’d come down, watching for the arrival of the other Pokemon. He hoped they’d be friendly, and that his warmth would be enough to revive them. As the footsteps got louder and louder, though, Sentinel began to realize that the incoming Pokemon didn’t sound very weakened by the weather.

Zorre prowled forward, deeper into the cave. Perhaps he would find a feral pokemon to harass and take the edge off this thunderous night. He could see something through the darkness, a light glowing up ahead. Perhaps a fire pokemon? The thought brought him up short; he didn't like fire pokemon, as they were one of his weaknesses, easily burning through his tough carapace and damaging the sensitive skin underneath.
He took a deep breath in. He wouldn't be a scaredy-bug, though. IF he was faster, which he often was, there was no way they could get in a fire attack before he slit through their throats and made them incapable of shooting any fire at him without shooting fire past their own wounds.
He continued forward, and came to a stop just before the bend in the cave. He peeked around the corner and spotted the source of the light: a lone solrock hovered not far from him, looking like a giant rock sculpture hewn ruggedly through the surrounding rock. A smile spit Zorre's face in half. Now this would be interesting, to say the least.

| Energy- 2 Sentinel saw something creeping up around the corner from the shadows of the damp cave. The source of the strange footsteps came intimidatingly into view. It’s a… what is that thing? A scyther… right? He’s not green, though. Sentinel watched the jet black body move towards him, dripping with cold rain with a twisted look on its face. Sentinel didn’t really like his odds against this guy. While Scythers are indeed weak both to fire attacks and even more so to rock attacks, Sentinel himself was weak to bug on account of his psychic subtype. Hopefully, thought Sentinel, he’s just another traveller trying to find someplace warm. ”Hello, friend! What brings you here?” Sentinel didn’t feel a single good vibe from this Pokemon. Reading its emotions made the Solrock shiver. The Scyther’s heart was a swamp of malice; dark thoughts as thick as molasses clouded Sentinel’s ability to understand his emotional state. What’s this guy planning…? As Sentinel analyzed this newcomer, a fierce clap of lightning outside shook the ground. An ear-piercing crackle vibrated the entire room, sending dust sprinkling from the ceiling. It sounded like it stuck something close… very close, but whatever was going on outside would have to wait until this Scyther stated his purpose. Or at least stopped giving him that chilling grin. |

"Hello, Darling," Zorre purred, pacing forward, his eyes sparkling with mischief. "What brings a brilliant pokemon like yourself to such a dark and damp place as this?" he questioned, drawing nearer to the rock-like pokemon. His scythes could slice through bone with ease, but could they get through this pokemon's rocky body?
He was wary of attacking without knowing for sure the outcome of the situation. He was insane, not stupid, after all. Perhaps he would have to switch his tactics for this bit of prey. He had no way of knowing that the rocky pokemon could read his emotions, his dark desires, like they were words written on a page. He had never encountered a solrock before, so he had no way of knowing that the rock pokemon was mainly a psychic pokemon.
Even if he had known, he wouldn't have minded. It made it easier to make the pokemon afraid of him, after all, if it could feel the creeping darkness and shadows that encroached upon his mind at all times. Contact with the insane often caused the sane to dance along that slippery edge, after all.
