First topic message reminder :

It was peaceful, and the time, about midday. Russell, though living in Grassveil for all of his early life, had neglected to visit the small pond on the outskirts of the town. Despite this, many spoke often of it's -usually- relaxing atmosphere, praising it as a lovely place to take youngsters to go and play.

Naturally, Russ was curious since he had never been there before, and so decided to investigate the well known area so that he could add it to the ever growing maps that he would draw based on his notes. With him, he had brought his trusty journal and pen, stored safely inside the satchel-like bag he carried with him.

Russell had shed his leafy cloak for the time being, instead opting to go without so that he could more easily write in his journal. It wasn't as if he couldn't just make another cloak out of whatever was at the pond anyways, so he hadn't worried too much about getting rid of it.

Seating himself down at the edge of the pond, Russ peered into the water, marvelling at just how clear it was, despite the many pokemon that used it based on the gossip he'd heard in the town centre. He could see his reflection in the water, gently smiling back at him in a crystal clear reflection.

After the Burmy finished talking, Lance stood there for a short while, reflecting upon everything the bug type had said up to this point. "So there's a group called the Windrose Scouts, and they carry around notebooks and record stuff in them about the Mystery Dungeons?" He said. "And ones who want to join have to do a challange to see how good they can read and write?" He thought for a moment. "Sounds good. I can go wherever I want, with the only drawback being that I have to write some." He paused. "Hey, you were saying 'we' a lot while you were talking about Windrose Scout. Are you perhaps a member?"

The Burmy nodded eagerly as the Riolu summarised what he had described about the Windrose Scouts. He then chuckled lightly as Lance asked if he were a member of the organisation he'd described, before realising he hadn't strictly introduced himself and deciding to do so now before he forgot.

"Ahh! I'm super sorry! I haven't really introduced myself have I? I'm Russell, and i'm... well, i'm actually the founder of the Windrose Scouts," he smiled, "So I guess that would make me a member," he continued with a good natured chuckle, "If you truly are interested in joining though, I can assign you an entry challenge right here and now..."

"So you created the Windrose Scouts? That's cool." Lance said. "It must be hard to make sure everything is in order by yourself." He then paused to consider if he was ready to take the challange or not. After a couple seconds of thinking, he desided on what he wanted to do. "Yeah, I'm ready to take the entry challange. Just to be sure, after I complete the challange, I have to write about what happened?" He said. If he did the challenge but did something wrong, that would be embarrassing for him.

(sorry for my slow posts. I'll try to post more often.)

The Mothim chuckled, "It's not too hard when I have such reliable members to help me." He paused and smiled fondly at the thought of the pokemon he had gathered to the Windrose Scouts' cause. Russell was brought from his thought as the Riolu spoke up again, confirming that he felt ready to take the challenge.

"Great!" the Mothim grinned excitedly, nodding at Lance's last question. "Yep. You've got to be as accurate as possible, and of course let us know how you overcame any difficulties that may arise from the challenge..."

Russell trailed off as he thought about what sort of challenge to give the Riolu. Lance seemed like a strong person, but could he handle the demands of exploring far of places? Well he'd soon find out.
"Okay... your challenge is to defeat a scaled pokemon, and bring back one of it's scales as proof," the Mothim announced, confident that this challenge would test Lance's ability to hold his own in a fight against the unknown.

ooc// it's fine my aren't the most consistent at the moment either as you can tell :P
