| First topic message reminder :Renata was woken by the soft chirruping of Arietta as she joined the other birds of Slateport in a sort of dawn chorus. Ever since she was younger, Ren had been an early riser, always eager to make the most out of every day. She supposed having a Fletchling who liked to summon the new day with her melodic voice also aided her early waking schedule. Although waking early was commonplace for Renata, today itself was a day that she'd been looking forward to for months now. They'd decided as a group that they'd finally leave Slateport and travel Hoenn to chase their dreams, but today was the day. The very first day of their journey, and Ren couldn't be more excited. As the time approached midday, and after double checking that she had everything she needed in her bag, Ren headed for their chosen meeting place. It was a tranquil little fountain in the center of the city, surrounded by convenient benches that made it a perfect place for congregating. It appeared that Renata was the first of their group to arrive, and so whilst Skipper skated along the fountain's surface and Arie chased him from the air, Ren relaxed on one of the benches and stared up at the midday sky with a small smile of content gracing her features. - Renata's Team!:

| "I agree!" Faery exclaimed. Once the Skarmory was either calmed down or in its Pokéball, she would definitely be letting out a breath she didn't know she was holding. She looked between the Skarmory, Sableye, Syr, and Xavier. She really hoped that the Skarmory begins to behave better soon. | |

| Ren nodded in agreement with Syr about returning the Skarmory to it's pokeball, "Honestly that's probably best. There are way too many people around to be dealing with an aggressive steel type," she replied, signalling for Arie to come back over. The Fletchling hesitated, remaining where she was just in case she was needed. She wanted confirmation that the skarmory wouldn't try to hurt any of her friends. | |

| Syr nodded at her friends' agreements with her statement and returned the skarmory to the pokeball amidst its shrieking protests. She shook her head. She didn't like forcibly keeping a pokemon in a pokeball, but it was better to do that than risk the skarmory hurting anyone in its displeasure.
With the skarmory returned to the pokeball, Syr turned her full attention on her friends. "Well, that was an exciting start to our journey, huh?" she asked with a smile.

| Xavier just laughed aloud about the situation. He hoped that this was how the rest of their journey played out, because this certainly did give him a good chuckle. Sure, the misfortune was bad, but the teen was so carefree and joyful, it seemed like it was the best thing in the world. Of course, when it became serious, his demeanor would change. But for now, he could just laugh about it and move on. Hope, who had been in Xavier's arms for the whole ordeal, was laughing, too. Now that the crisis had been averted, the teen and Togepi stopped laughing and were ready to move on with their journey. | |

| Faerydae let out a breath that she didn't know she was holding. Now that this stopped for now, maybe they could later get along with the Skarmory. But looking back, that might not be for a while. "Well, that was some way to start a journey, wasn't it?" she asked, although it was more of a rhetorical question or a statement. She paused, and suddenly, Faery's already big eyes widened even more, and she began smiling upon a realization. That look on her face was a look that her friends knew well...
Dawn realized her trainer's intentions the moment she paused. The Ralts paused for a moment and slowly raised her hand(?) up. Faerydae soon said what was on her mind, "I guess that was kind of skary, right?", she said, trying to lighten up the mood. The moment she said so, Dawn's raised hand was introduced to her face. 'Mrs Hand, meet Ms Face. Ms Face, meet Mrs Hand. I'm sure you two will get along well.', was what was pretty much going on in Dawn's mind. Despite that, the Ralts was smiling at her trainer's terrible pun.

| Arietta seemed to visibly relax as the large steel bird was returned to it's pokeball. The Flechling took the opportunity to flutter back over to Ren, landing on her trainer's shoulder. Ren reached up to pet the bird's head and Arie nuzzled her feathered cheek against her friend's. Skipper wandered over, seemingly happy that no one had gotten hurt in the altercations.
Renata merely smiled at her friends' comments of how it was an interesting way to start their journey. She couldn't help but chuckle though as Faery made a terrible pun at the skarmory's expense.
After the excitement in the middle of the street, Ren had convinced her friends to come through Slateport's market with her so that she could say goodbye to her mother before they headed out on their journey. Lilian had been ecstatic to see her daughter before she left and there had been hugs all around from the affectionate woman. She also had shoved a pokedex at Ren, telling her that it would come in handy and that she should keep it in a safe place along with her pokenav plus. Lilian made sure to double check that her daughter had the correct call number for her, and then added her father's number in her pokenav's new entry call app. Just when they were hugging again and saying goodbye, Lilian reached behind her market stall and found a bag of home made pokepuffs, handing them to Ren and telling her to have fun on her journey.
All in all, Ren had enjoyed seeing her mother again, she loved her to pieces after all and she'd only ever been supportive and loving. However, she was glad to be going on her journey with her friends. As the group headed for Route 110, towards Mauville City, Renata spoke up once more.
"Sooo, since we don't have bikes with us i'm assuming we're taking the scenic route?" she laughed cheerfully.
ooc// So I kinda didn't want to go into huge detail about Ren visiting her mother in the market because it would delay us from heading away from Slateport more but I still wanted it to happen so I basically did a mini timeskip. You guys can all still react to what happened before my skip, and even Ren and her mother in the market if you want, but I do want to do the skip because otherwise it'll just take forever |D

| Syr blinked at Faerydae for a moment after the words left her mouth, before there was the sudden clapping sound of a giant facepalm. Syr hung her head in her hands, her shoulders shaking at the disbelieving chuckle escaping her lips.
"That may have been your worst one yet, Faery," Syr said, raising her head and lowering her hands to glare playfully at her friend.
It was after this exchange that Ren convinced Syr and the rest of the group to go with her to her mother's market stall so that she could say goodbye. Syr followed willingly, grinning wistfully at the exchange between the mother and daughter.
"Sooo, since we don't have bikes with us i'm assuming we're taking the scenic route?" Ren announced, laughing.
"Unless you want to be run over by those triathlete trainers, uh, yeah, Ren," Syr replied sarcastically, her eyes glittering mischievously to show that she was joking.

| Xavier giggled at Faery's horrible pun. Oh how he loved terrible jokes like that. "It may be horrible, Syr, but you've got to admit. It's pretty funny." Then chocolate haired teen said after he stopped his small laughing. "Pii~!" Hope voiced her own opinion on the pun with the same amount of glee as her trainer. They were like two peas in a pod.
After meeting with Ren's mother, the group found themselves heading towards their new adventure. Even though his parents had given him a Pokédex, he doubted he would need to use it all too much. There were very few Pokemon he didn't know much about. Maybe only some neat tidbits of information that would be almost useless.
"I wouldn't want to risk riding down that way with Hope anyways. Plus, nature is really beautiful. We may find some new friends, too!" Xavier responded to Ren's comment with an even chipper tone to his voice than usual. "Pii~!" Rang out the Togepi's voice in agreement.

| ((Sorry, this was something quick before I went to sleep, plus, it's 11 PM right now)) Fairy looked at everyone's reactions and just grinned. Honestly, while she enjoyed puns for their wordplay, they were made even better by her friends' reactions, in her opinion. |~|~|~|~|~|~|~|~|~|~|~|~|~|~|~|~| "Plus, nature is really beautiful. We may find some new friends, too!" Xavier said. Faerydae cheerfully exclaimed jokingly, "Faerydae approves this message!" Dawn just looked at her. The Ralts felt that she really should have made sure Faerydae didn't go overboard with the chocolate. ~Meanwhile, at home~ A jar, that was full of extremely delicious and very chocolaty and sugary cookies just yesterday, was sitting on a table. However, if one were to look inside, the would see only a pair of cookies, surrounded by crumbs. And the crumbs were very fresh, from only this morning. How Faerydae ate all those cookies without her family noticing, would forever be known as one of the greatest unsolved mysteries of all time. Well, not really, but it's still a mystery. | |

| Renata nodded cheerfully, grinning at Syrian's sarcastic response. Arietta was perched neatly on her left shoulder, whilst Skipped had managed to clamber up onto Ren's right shoulder.
"Sooo, I heard there's supposed to be a contest in Mauville soon, so I suppose that's worth looking into whilst we're there," Ren grinned, excited at the idea of entering her first contest. She could feel Arie's excitement at the mere mention of the idea, though Skipper was a little nervous as he didn't have nearly as much practice as Arie did. Ren couldn't help but wonder if her father would take the time to watch her contest debut though, after all they did air these things on tv rather often.
Good lord. TV. She hadn't really considered that part of partaking in a contest. What if she failed dramatically live on air?
Ren shook her head, walking with her friends towards the grassy path that went under the cycling road. There was no need to be nervous. She was confident in herself and her pokemon's abilities. "And I guess you'll be interested in challenging Mauville Gym when we get there, right Zavy?" she asked with a smile, continuing as if she hadn't had a small mental crisis just now.

| Xavier looked over to the path leading towards Mauville. He hoped he could befriend another Pokemon along the route, it would help him as both a trainer and breeder. Soon, the topic evolved into a conversation about contests.
"Well, we have two people here that want to be coordinators, so I would assume any contest should be looked into." The teen said with a grin. "Pii~" A noise filled with joy came from the small Togepi's mouth. She couldn't wait until she could watch the contest, with Ren and Faery in it.
"Yeah, I'll probably challenge the Gym there. I've heard that the Gym there uses Electric types, so I'll need to get Felix some more experience in battling." Xavier looked down at Hope after saying it, and, upon seeing her unhappy face, added, "And of course, I'll be battling along side Hope." The Fairy type instantly became her joyful self again, and started signing quietly to herself.

| Syrian's eyes lit up. "Yeah, Mauville! I heard that some trainer saw a Celebi there once!!!" She burst out excitedly. She didn't care that the rumour was a myth passed through several different mouths and probably wasn't even true. All she cared about was that the rumour was started so there had to be some sort of truth to it!
Syrian wanted to study legendary pokemon for her dissertation into a pokemon university in Sinnoh, but first she had to find a legendary pokemon to write her paper on. So she was excited with any mention of legendary pokemon.
((Short post is short, I'm in a hurry for dinner lol))

| ooc// This thread is moving hella slow so i'm now enforcing a 48 hour post rule. If someone doesn't post within 48 hours of everyone else posting (based on the time of the lastest post in this thread) then the person who hasn't yet posted will be skipped to prevent this RP from dying.
Ren couldn't help but be enthralled by the idea of a legendary pokemon, especially with Syrian's enthusiasm for the mystical creatures. She wondered what it would be like to actually meet one, and though it wasn't her own dream, she looked forward to the day that Syr could achieve hers and finally lay eyes upon one herself.
"You never know, this might be the beginning of a noteworthy trail to find a legendary," she grinned, trying to remain positive, despite how elusive such pokemon were. "Maaan, I gotta admit seeing a legendary would be pretty amazing though," she grinned as they headed towards the grassy pathway beneath the cycling road.
ooc// I rolled an encounter; LINK

| ((O.OH IM SO SORRY)) Faery smiled as she heard about the Celebi. Meeting a legendary Pokémon, or even just catching a glimpse, would be very unlikely. Of course, she stayed hopeful, because, who knows what lies ahead?.....Maybe Celebi if we do meet it in the future, considering it's said to be able to time travel..... But I'm not even gonna try to figure out how, I might get a headache trying to figure out time travel logic.... .....If we ever meet Celebi, I'm making a shirt that says "I met a timelord" on it..... .....Anyways, back to now. "It definitely would be!" Faerydae said in response to Ren. As they walked into the grassy pathway, she went a meter ahead, looking around. (((National or Hoenn dex rolls? I'm gonna roll on mah next post.))) - Spoiler:
