A Bright New Beginning

A young Treecko lay in one of the many trees of Pecha Forest. She'd picked a nice branch, right where the sunlight could warm her skin without first having to filter through the leafy canopy of the forest. It had been a while since she'd just relaxed like this. Back in her old home of Icicle Woods she'd had to watch out for almost everything, as her typing was definitely no advantage there. She kind of missed it to be honest. It might not have been the nicest of places, but it was home. It was where she'd grown up.

Nevertheless, she'd made her decision to see the rest of the world, or at least some of it. She was here now and she'd decided to make the most of it rather than dwelling on what she missed of her old home. Grassveil Town was supposed to be around this area... but that could wait. For now she'd just enjoy the warmth and sunlight.

Twayblade

The squabbling group of five hadn't realised it, but their loud arguments had drawn quite the crowd. It wasn't just Twayblade, Scorpio and Sanja that were confused by their attitudes. The four remaining of the original group of five, the Aipom, Murkrow, Ledyba and Pineco, watched in horror as the Hoothoot carried off their Zigzagoon friend. Suddenly their original argument was forgotten as the Ledyba grasped the Pineco in it's feet and the Aipom, Quinn, followed the male Murkrow as they chased after the escaping Hoothoot, avoiding a trio of Ledyba as they flew away, attempting to avoid a large fight.

Yells of frustration came from the Zigzagoon as she tried to wriggle her way from the Hoothoot's grasp. Twayblade watched in disbelief at the scenario, before the five and the Hoothoot were gone and her, the Eevee and the Gligar were left with the multitude of hostiles that the group's argument had attracted.

There was a Sudowoodo, a Nidorino, a duo of Murkrow, an Aipom and another Pineco. None of them seemed to be largely friendly with one another, but their sights were all focused on their current targets; those who clearly did not belong in this forest.

The Nidorino gave a large roar which seemed to work as a signal of action for the group as they all attempted to charge towards the trio who had ventured into the forest.

Twayblade ignored those who had chosen to run, she and the other two had a much bigger problem on their hands. She was well aware that explorers and pokemon who weren't native to the forest were often attacked by the natives in order to steal any useful items they had that couldn't be found in Pecha Forest, but such large group attacks as this were usually rather rare.

"You two," the Treecko spoke suddenly, glancing from Sanja to Scorpio, "Cover your ears!"

The charging group seemed to have not heard Twayblade's somewhat warning as she plucked a stray blade of grass from the ground. Taking a breath, she positioned it neatly between her hands and blew into it, producing a melodious sound. She continued to play the music, working the notes up and down to skillfully produce a tune. A few of the pokmon in the area began to look suddenly drowsy. The Sudowoodo covered it's head just in time and the two Murkrow, with their Insomnia ability, were unaffected, but the Aipom, Pineco and Nidorino dropped to the ground quite suddenly, soft snores echoing through the forest air and proving that Twayblade's Grasswhistle had been successful.

Sanja grew very hesitant. Here eyes were wide, pupils thin, staring at the bird that grabbed the Zigzagoon. She would jolt into a forward lean, but stop before she would even lift a paw and instead would watch what might happen.

Suddenly, the Treecko beside her spoke, causing the Eevee to turn her head and look to the grass type. What she said made Sanja pull her ears back in reaction, and quickly brought up her paws to hold her ears against her head so they wouldn't catch the sound waves so easily, still curious as to why the reptile wanted them to do so. She eased up on her ears a bit to hear, and a soothing sound of a song entered her ears. Immediately, identifying the move that was going on, she covered her ears again fully and looked up while pressed on the ground. Gradually, nearly every Pokemon had fallen asleep, all except for an odd few.

Sanja released her ears, which jolted up once she was sure the Grasswhistle was over, and faced what was left. It was odd to see so many Pokemon fallen asleep in the middle of the forest. The two Murkrow seemed to have different reactions, but the one from the original group had already flown away, who seemed the most likely to attack if it was still here, but the remaining two seemed utterly confused. The Sudowoodo clearly knew to cover its ears, and was the most likely to attack first. But the Eevee was prepared for anything. For a while she closed her eyes, and focused her thoughts on positivity and hope. She began a Wish, which would hopefully come into play later on when she needs it.

As if things weren't already seeming bad, another group of wild Pokemon had come into the scene, and they seemed much more hostile than the others. Scorpio get fairly scared when seeing this, not sure if the group would be able to get out of this situation without injury. However, this would be solved by the Treecko near him, who had told him and the Eevee to cover their ears. He did as told, using his large closed pincers to block off his ears from any noise, not sure what the intention was. The Gligar eventually figured out the reason, as he saw majority of the wild Pokemon start to become drowsy and fall asleep. When the Treecko stopped, he moved his pincers away from his ears and realized exactly what had happened. "Wait, you put them to sleep? Was this Grasswhistle or something?" He asked, wondering if that move was what was used. While he waited for an answer, Scorpio ate an Oran Berry to get some energy.
