Obsessing and Stressing

Mission Infos:

Shadowhue was known for being dark, hence the name.  So dark that in some of the more densely forested areas it could be difficult to tell the time of day.  It was far darker at night.  It seemed as if this place was now the definition of darkness.  Visibility was little more than a few feet, making for an eerie and dangerous environment.  To top it all off, it was freezing....

Acually, the cold was more of a plus side for a certain glaceon who had decided to venture into the dark woods.  Sova had found that since evolving, he enjoyed the cold.  Likely because of his new ice typing.  One thing was not in a hurry to learn was how he handled something like desert heat now.

"Love what you've done with the place."  The icy fox sarcastically commented to the darkness that was Shadowhue Forest.  It wasn't like he had anyone to talk to.  May as well get used to talking to himself.  At least that would help keep his mind from wandering and playing tricks on him in the darkness.  Or maybe it would do the opposite.  Either way, he was here for the purpose of completing missions and no overly creepy atmosphere was going to stop him.

Missions:

"Wiggly~ Wiggly~ Wiggly~ Wiggly~" The client chimed as it bounced along, accompanied by an Archeops and a Murkrow. The archeops, Acro, seemed intent on the path ahead, while the murkrow seemed to look down at his feet while he walked.

Acro observed the area, the darkness was...well, dark. The client, Wigglytuff, had asked them to stop earlier, and spent nearly the entire day in grassveil, stopping so that the Wigglytuff could buy things from different shops. The day was more of a escort the client around town rather than through the forest, but the two were just glad that they had finally gotten to the actual mission, Linus especially.

The Murkrow, upon encountering the client, had been swept off the ground in a big hug, as the client spent nearly an hour trying to get him to talk or smile or something. Acro had tried to help Linus stop the client from smothering his new recruit, but it had taken a lot of convincing to get the pink fluffy thing to leave the murkrow alone.

Linus watched the ground as he walked, not really paying any attention as they moved alone. He had been assigned to this Archeops who had introduced himself as Acro, seeing as how he was a bit too awkward to do things on his own. He was not rather down about this though, as he was still thinking of his mother's letter and her departure. The murkrow stopped himself from sighing, since the last time he had sighed, the wigglytuff nearly killed him with hugs.

The darkness was treating Sova quite well, despite his constant alertness due to the worry that something would be lurking just a few feet away in the darkness. He tried to remind himself that he was lucky to be able to ignore and even enjoy the cold weather, that he shouldn't envy dark types for the ability to see better in the dark. Then a sound caught his full attention.

All at once the glaceon completely forgot about all of his worries. This sound....THIS was the stuff of nightmares. Worse than any horrid dream he could possibly conjure up. "Wiggly~", he heard the chants over and over, forcing him to seek out the source in order to silence it before he went mad. Sure, he could just flee from the sound, but he wasn't going to be chased out of an area just because of some agitating tune.

As the glaceon crept silently in the direction of the sound, it grew louder and louder. Eventually, being dragged off the semi-safe path he was on, he spotted a few pokemon walking together. He ducked down behind a bush and lowered his ears to keep himself concealed as he watched the group, pinpointing the sound as coming from a big pink thing. It was kind of hard to see what any of them were through the darkness, but one that he was almost certain of was a murkrow. Could it be that he had found one of his mission objectives so soon? This meant he would get to complete a mission soon AND forcibly silence the source of that appalling noise.

"Wiggly! Wiggly~ WigglytuuuuuuuuuUF~" The client continued, doing a bit of a dance as they continued onward. Acro watched the client, they walked a little bit ahead of the group, and he needed to make sure they weren't attacked. The archeops did not seem to mind the tune the wigglytuff sang, seeing as he was more used to putting up with the unbearable for missions. He turned his attention back into the surroundings, almost swearing he heard a bush rustle ahead.

Linus merely continued along, looking glum and unaware of the danger that awaited him ahead. He knew nothing of the outlaw murkrow that hung around these woods, for he was a guild member of Ailreon, rather than Grassveil. He had attempted to join Grassveil once, but then he had realized that the amount of pokemon there were substantially high. The murkrow instead had to fly all the way to Ailreon, and here he was.

Sova couldn't take the agitating sounds of the pink thing any more.  If he ended up having to fight an entire criminal gang, it would be more than worth it to cease this abominable sound.  Without another thought or any worry, he leaped forth from his hiding spot and charged the group of....what ever they were, using Quick Attack to handle this as quickly as possible.  Though, he found himself instead stopping as the source of the sound and its companions came into clear view.

There was indeed a murkrow, but it looked....not really....outlaw-y. The source of the evil noise was indeed a big pink thing, a wigglytuff.  But the most surprising revelation was a familiar archeops.  The glaceon looked the three over for a moment, thawing his fur that he'd realized he had frozen into spikes out of reflex.  "Acro?"  He questioned, his offensive demeanor fading as he tilted his head.

The wigglytuff didn't seem to even flinch at the sight of the Glaceon charging towards them, while Acro and Linus had a different reaction, both completely different from the other. The wigglytuff seemed to kinda wave at the glaceon happily.

Acro had given a screech, and become surrounded in purple aura as boulders came to his call, using Ancient Power. He had been about to throw them at the attacking opponent, ready to protect the client and Linus if need be. The archeops paused, noticing that the attacker was...well, not attacking. It was a strange blue fox like creature, who seemed to know his name. Acro kept his boulders at the ready, "Who are you?" he demanded.

Linus had given off a squawk of fear, before taking off and fleeing into the trees of Shadowhue. The murkrow dived into the canopy of leaves, and remained there, peeking out only when the strange pokemon had spoken his teammate's name. How did this thing know Acro? Was it an old friend of his? The bird remained in the trees, wanting some cover in the case the friend decided to turn foe and attack.

"Has it really been that long? Guess I've changed a lot. You, however, are pretty much the same....all things considered." Sova replied to the archeops, purposely avoiding directly answering the question as he began circling Acro, waiting for the bird to drop the boulders. It seemed Acro didn't recognize him, which was reasonable since he wasn't an eevee any more. Instead of just being honest and explaining himself, he'd decided to have a little bit of fun with the archeops.

"Still got the badass feather stains, I see." He commented at Acro's blood-stained wings as he circled the bird. "So how've you been?" He questioned in a casual manner, curious how the archeops would react.

Acro did not seem to be put off guard by this, the boulders still hung in the air above the archeops.

"State your name," he spoke, determined not to get confused by this strange thing. He had no idea if this was some outlaw that he had previously detained. For all he knew, it was pretending to know him so that it would let his guard down. The Ancient Power still hung in the air, waiting to smash into the ice type with Super Effective damage.

The wigglytuff merely looked at the explorer it had hired to protect it, and the Glaceon, obviously confused as well.

Linus could only remain as silent as he was during the entire trip here. He had hardly said a single word to anybody, even Acro. He only told the explorer of his name, and refused to talk any further. He only gave nods and shakes of his head, he wondered if Acro would have thought he was mute if not for him saying his name to him when they had first met. The murkrow shivered, the cold biting into him as he saw his breath before him. It was just like the night he had waited for his mother, except instead of being seated next to a pond, he was here. He looked to the Glaceon, and prepared to swoop down and attack should the Glaceon make any funny moves. He may have been scared, but he had a duty to help his leader.

Sova laughed at the archeops' confusion, genuinely finding it funny. "Still as tense and no-fun-allowed as ever. I'm kind of disappointed you don't remember me, though. We didn't spend much time together but I thought it was nice. I know I evolved but come on.... Anyways, I don't feel very eager to tell you anything when you're being so rude to an old friend, looking like you're about to pelt me with rocks and whatnot." He continued, still keeping his calm demeanor.

He then glanced up for a moment, noticing a rather creepy looking bug in a the treetops, nearly completely shrouded from view in the darkness, eyeing the archeops. How long had that thing been there? "Maybe a show of good faith will help ease your worried mind. Look up, either you've got a secret admirer or someone wants you to be on the menu." He commented as he pointed a paw up to the ariados.

The ariados, upon hearing itself be identified, gave a cry as it jumped down from the trees above, trying to get to its prey before it had time to act.

Unfortunately for the predator, the cry only gave away its location without the Archeops needing to look up. A boulder swiftly circled around the Archeops and performed a bit of an uppercut on the bug type, smashing into its underbelly before it could land on the prehistoric bird and sending it flying a fair distance away, stunning it so it could not move for a while from the sudden attack. Acro, meanwhile, had not taken his eyes off of the Glaceon.

He didn't know why, but he felt...stronger now that he was an apprentice of Ailreon. He had more confidence in himself, and no longer held the overwhelming sense of self-doubt he used to bear.

Linus's eyes shot up towards the Ariados with surprise, having been too focused on the situation below to have noticed the spider creep along. He felt his face grow a bit red with embarrassment, he should have noticed it. He retreated closer to the trunk of the tree, loosing the courage to attack if it came to it now that he had already been a failure in some degree. He kept his eyes on the Glaceon, but was more out of sight of the group, hiding behind the branches of the trees and just waiting for the situation to take a turn on whether or not to attack the Glaceon.

Sova watched as the ariados attempted to attack, only to fail miserably and get knocked into the wilderness. It certainly didn't look comfortable for the spider, but it deserved it for trying to attack Acro.

"Huh." He muttered as he slowly began walking closer to the archeops. He wasn't afraid of being attacked, though he sincerely hoped the bird would continue showing restraint. "That's a neat trick. So, remember me yet?" He questioned, hopeful that he was getting through to Acro. If he could get the archeops to remember him without having to say his name, it would really make his day.

"C'moooon. You helped me with an exploration. We had a long, hot day together where you kept making fun of me for being an eevee." The glaceon continued in an attempt to jog Acro's memory without directly telling him much. The most important part was that he didn't give out his name. He wanted Acro to figure it out on his own.

Sure, it would be far easier to just be open about things, but the glaceon simply couldn't find the fun in that. Besides, he wanted to see if Acro was worth talking to. Even though they'd only been in contact for one day, quite some time ago, he still considered the archeops a friend. He wondered if Acro felt the same. Hopefully so.

It did not take long for things to finally click for the Archeops.
"Sova," he finally stated, the gears in his bird brain finally having clicked together to make the connection. He had only met a single Eevee in his life, and here he was, fully evolved. Although he didn't seem too pleased with the used-to-be eevee.
"Why didn't you just say it was you?"

The boulders all lost their purple aura and collapsed onto the ground. The wigglytuff seemed to get giddy as it realized the two really were friends, "Friendly friends! Wiggly~ Wiggly~ Wooo~!"

Linus came to attention as Acro called to him, telling him it was safe to come down. The murkrow hesitated, still unsure of the ice type himself, before eventually dropping from the branch and gliding towards the ground. He landed just behind Acro, still a bit fearful of the Glaceon. He realized what he was doing, and gained a bit of courage as he remembered that he would just forever be like this if he did not try to do something about it.

The murkrow stepped out from behind the archeops, walked a few steps forward as if he was about to say something important. He lifted a wing in a wave, and opened his beak to speak, "......H-h-h-h-h-h-hi..."

Sova smiled as the archeops finally realized who he was.  What a relief.  "Well, I just wanted to see if you cared enough to remember me, or if it was just some boring client mission that you forgot about."  He said openly, now being honest.  There was no longer any reason for him to play around.  Acro had proven his time with Sova hadn't been lost, that was all that mattered.

As the murkrow showed up, Sova wondered if it was going to say anything.  He hoped he wouldn't be stuck talking to the wigglytuff, at least.  To his relief, the murkrow did indeed speak....sort of.  It tried, at least.  "Hello.  And to all here who don't know me, I'm Sova.  Acro helped me out once when I was an eevee."  He explained in case the other two hadn't gathered it already.

"Well how am I supposed to know it's you when you look nothing like what you used to? For all i knew you were some random pokemon pretending to know me so you could catch me off guard," Acro defended himself, still a bit irritated that the glaceon had toyed with him like that. The archeops spread his wing, gesturing to his party so he could introduce them, "This is my client, Wigglytuff,"

The fluffy pink thing gave another chime of its tune, before settling down as it was introduced.

"And this is Linus, my exploration partner..." Linus straightened himself as he was addressed by his leader. He gave a short panicked nod, whether it was a nod of 'hello' or 'yes that is me', even he was unsure. The murkrow examined the glaceon, there seemed to be something rather off-putting about the friend of Acro's. He couldn't quite put his feather on it, but there was something...

"Ooooh, so you're on a mission. Me too." Sova commented, now understanding why Acro was out in Shadowhue at night. The same reason as him. Though he had come at night due to sleeping in - or rather TRYING to sleep, the end result was the same for both of them.

"Sorry if I scared any of you, jumping out at you like that. I saw a murkrow, Linus, and I happen to be hunting a murkrow on my mission. Soooo I was a bit hostile." He said in a tone that indicated he wasn't really worried about having been so wrongfully quick to hassle travelers. It wasn't like anyone got hurt. Other than the ariados, that is.
