Riddling the Riddler

Pterra snickered to himself in his hiding place high above the main path that led up the Black Mist Mountain. Some intrepid explorers liked to hike the mountain by making their own path, but most travelers chose this easier, beaten path to get up the mountain. Unfortunately for the pokemon of this region, Pterra was a clever pokemon.

He knew that if he could catch travelers off guard with a sudden rockfall, they'd never see it coming when he swooped in and snatched their bag right out from beneath them! So he awaited high above the path, ready to cause a rockfall and speed in before any pokemon could react. Most pokemon were too stupid to even realize they'd been robbed for a while anyway, so they deserved it if they couldn't protect their own belongings.

A blue canine was leaping up onto each ledge to get higher up the mountain. Kira was using Quick Attack like she did a few months ago before she evolved when she was here. Racing up the mountain, she decided the beaten path wasn't much of a challenge, and challenges were better than easier possibilities. Stopping on one ledge for a break, she sighed. "I need at least one or two breaks to make it up without tiring...." The Lucario muttered. Shaking her head, she started Quick Attack-ing her way up the mountain again. Nothing was seeming to stop her.

Pterra was officially bored. No traveller had come by the easier route in quite some time, and he really needed to stretch his wings. He opened his wide, purple-white wings and rushed into the air, wheeling around acrobatically before rushing through a few canyons created by the spires of the mountaintops around him. He beat his wings rapidly, and rose high into the air, circling around the mountain spires around the top of the Black Mist Mountain.

He looked down at the mountain paths as he did so. Along one of the more adventurous paths, he spotted a blue blur leaping from rock to rock. He flew lower, trying to see what kind of pokemon it was. He realized that it was a Lucario quickly enough and a sneer spread across his face. This pokemon was his next target.

He rushed overhead, beating his wings heavily, causing some rocks to begin to fall. If the Lucario didn't watch out, they would slam right into the blue canine-like pokemon!

Kira looked up, noticing the sudden rock slide. While jumping from ledge to ledge, she avoided the rocks with the help of her Quick Attack. If a Pokemon was the cause of this, he/she would be in for it. Still jumping from ledge to ledge and dodging at the same time, the Lucario thought she saw a light-ish purple shape above, flapping its wings to cause this sudden slide. 'Who is that.....?' The fighting type thought. She wasn't lost in her thoughts, luckily, because the rock slide was still going. Finally, she realized it was an Aerodactyl. 'Well, he's gonna be in for it if I can get out of this mess.'

Pterra cackled to himself as the Lucario attempted to dodge the boulders that were falling down at her. He flew towards a particularly large boulder and hefted it in his claws, carrying it over to the path before letting it fall, the large boulder sending even more rocks falling. It was true that Pterra didn't like to harm pokemon directly, but really, this could have happened with or without him, he assured himself. Besides, the Lucario seemed fit enough to get by these rocks. The real test would be him tricking her when she was steaming mad from the rock fall. He snickered at the thought.

Seeing an extremely large boulder coming at her, Kira jumped on top of it, and continued dodging every other rock, not even a tiny bit infuriated, just annoyed. Jumping like mad, the Lucario saw the purple figure again, this time snickering. Shaking her head, Kira didn't care that he thought he was smart. Chuckling at his ridiculousness, she kept going at the fast speeds she was going. To Kira, this was barely even a challenging task.

Pterra watched as the Lucario easily dodged each rock, and decided to just confront the jackal-like pokemon. He flew towards the Lucario and landed on a rocky perch just above the blue canine. "Having fun with my rockfall?" he called nastily to the Lucario. "You looked bored, so I figured that you wouldn't mind a nice workout!"
