Encounters of the Misty Variety

A brand new day meant there was a brand new adventure to be had. That's exactly what Brian was doing as he was making his way to Pricklemist Hill. He had gone there before, but didn't explore much of the area then. This time, he planned to explore this place and find whatever secrets it may be hiding. The main look of this place didn't really seem to interesting. It seemed like a normal hill smothered in mist and nothing more. However, regardless of how plain something looked at first, there had to be more then meets the eye. Brian has been to many location that seemed bland at first but after enough exploring, he found something amazing within them. This had to be true with Pricklemist as well.

"Maybe this time I'll find something cool in this place. Well, better get exploring then." Brian said as he walked towards the hill, ready for whatever he would encounter there.

It was a cool morning, and the crisp air had Arietta positively gleaming with positivity as she fluttered through the air, a fiery orange and grey blur against the blue of the sky. Mornings like this were the type where you might find frost on the tips of the grass or highlighting the gossamer of a Spinarak's web. These were also the mornings that Arie loved best, so cold and refreshing that it made you feel alive.

Normally living in Grassveil Town, Arie had risen bright and early to take full advantage of the autumn air before the temperature warmed in preparation for the rest of the day. She hadn't quiet realised how long she'd been flying in the same direction, enjoying the feeling of the breeze in her feathers as she drew further and further away from the bustling town. It wasn't long before she caught sight of the same misty hill that a certain Chimchar had chosen to explore.
With the crisp morning already warming in the sunlight, Arietta hovered in the air as she spotted the fire Pokémon near the base of the hill. So many Pokémon passed through Grassveil that a Chimchar or two wasn't the rarest sight, and so with confidence the young Fletchling flew down towards the Chimp Pokémon. Perhaps he could show her some neat fire type moves?

Our desert born Darumaka was rolling toward the hill as well, her hands and feet tucked into her body so the rolling could keep going. Her species used that way of travelling a lot. Back home they's tried to kick up the biggest dirt cloud by rolling to see who spun fastest. Isabella did pretty good. The reason she was here was to get stock for the shop she hoped to open on the road. She wanted to be a travelling merchant, collecting all sorts of odds and ends to sell with other pokemon all over. It was her dream job actually. She had noticed the chimchar ahead of her and quickly turned to roll in the other direction and stop her momentum. She stopped a few yards away and popped up with a smile. "Howdy thar peekoolyar... an' li'l bird! Fry mah hide! Whut in tarnation brin's yo' two hyar?"

As he kept walking, Brian eventually saw a bird like Pokemon flying near him. "Oh, hello there little bird Pokemon." Brian said to greet the Pokemon. He wasn't really the greatest when it came to introductions. Most of the time he just ended up literally running into someone randomly and make awkward conversation afterwards. It had become normal for him to less then normal meeting with others at first, so this was nothing new. This would become even weirder as another Pokemon showed up, or in this instance rolled up towards him and the bird.

"Um, hello to you too. I'm here to just look around and see what's going on here. How about you?" Brian said, replying to the ball shaped Pokemon. She seemed to speak in some weird accent that made things hard to understand, but he got the main points of what she was saying.

Arietta's dive came to an abrupt halt a metre or so away from the Chimchar as the Darumaka rolled into view, surprising the young Fletchling. She nearly missed the greeting that said Chimchar had given her as she'd flown into view. Flapping her wings to keep herself in place in the air, Arie identified the rolling pokemon's species and her cheerful grin only grew wider as a result. This was yet another fire pokemon.
"Hello, nice to meet you both!" she began politely, flying closer to the both of them but not yet landing on the grassy ground.
"I guess i'm not here for much of a reason, just flying. Oh, my name's Arietta!" she replied with a smile, answering the question that the Darumaka had posed and also opening it up for the other two to introduce themselves. A short moment later, she landed neatly on the ground, stroking her feathered chin with her wing as she re-considered her answer out loud.
"Althooough~ Since you two are both fire types I guess now I have an ulterior motive for being here," she added, much too quickly in her excitement.

"Wal ah's searchin' this hyar hill hyar fo' items an' th' like! ah's hopin' t'git mah business started, cuss it all t' tarnation." At the mention of the ulterior motive from the bird, Isabella frowned and narrowed her eyes. If she had the arms for it, she'd cross them in suspicion. The limitations of her species. "Oh pow'ful, an' whut'd them motives be? Though ah doubt a li'l bird like yo' c'd git into enny trouble even eff'n yo' tried." The little bird did look pretty harmless. She just couldn't see the bird doing anything remotely troubling.

"Nice to meet you two...too. Name's Brian." Brian said, giving a warm smile. These two definitely seemed like interesting individuals. On one side was an energetic bird Pokemon that seemed to have a fascination with Fire types, and on the other was a ball shaped Pokemon with a weird accent. They seemed to have their quirks, but who didn't have those. Those things are what make all Pokemon unique and interesting.

"Ulterior motive huh? What would that be?" Brian asked Arietta, curious as to what she was talking about. She did have a red coloring on her body, so maybe the bird was part Fire type or something. Regardless of what it was, asking never hurts.

Areitta seemed to take small offense in the Darumaka's words, hopping back and forth on her tiny black feet and moving her wings in motions similar to tiny punches, "I could get into plenty of trouble iff'n I wanted to," she replied indignantly, accidentally taking on a small quality of Isabella's odd accent as she spoke. However she quickly realised how silly she looked and sounded, stopping and turning to the Chimchar as he also asked what her ulterior motive was.

"Oh right," she grinned, flapping her wings and hovering above the ground again, "You two are both fire types right? I bet you know all sorts of cool fire type moves. I challenge you both to a battle!" she called out, flying backwards a few paces and pointing at the both of them with one wing.

"Now hold on jest a dadburn minute!" Isabella held up her hands to stop the little bird. "Ah's not one t'fight unless ah have to. Ah's not one fo' fightin' pow'ful. Besides, ah have t'save mah inergy fo' gatherin' thin's t'sell, ah reckon. Ah cain't start a sto'e eff'n ah tire mahse'f out ev'ry time ah go out, now kin I?" The darumaka shrugged lightly and hoped from foot to foot nervous. "Besides, ah doesn't knows enny fire type moves. Tackle, Rollout, an' Focus Punch. Ah doesn't reckon a li'l bird like yo' kin larn sech moves, kin yo'?"

"You wanna see some fire type moves huh? Well, I happen to know a couple of them, and I'm be happy to show them off in a battle. So if that's what you want, I'll be happy to oblige." Brian said excitingly, a wide grin appearing on his face at Arietta asked for a battle. Nothing pumped him up more then a no holds barred, intense battle. A test of skills where two Pokemon could show off their skills find out who's stronger or perfect some new strategies they came up with. The more a Pokemon battles, the stronger it becomes, and that's exactly what Brian wanted.

"Ready whenever you are!" Brian said as he got into a fighting stance, waiting in anticipation for the battle to start. Hopefully nothing would interrupt it....and hopefully he didn't just jynx himself by saying that...

Arietta looked a tad disappointed for a moment as Isabella revealed that she actually didn't know any fire type moves, but that quick look of disappointment soon subsided as Brian accepted her challenge.
"Woohoo!" she grinned cheerfully, despite the fact that she knew she was probably going to lose as she only possessed one actual attacking move. She was just happy that she would learn something from the Chimchar and his fire moves, even if the young Fletchling herself didn't currently possess a one.

Energetically, Arietta flew backwards a few paces as Brian got into a fighting stance. When he seemed ready, Arie dived towards him, using her speed to her advantage but not actually using a move.

Isabella just stepped back as the two started their battle. Though the fire type wasn't one to fight for no reason, she was no stranger to fights. Back on the desert home from which she came, the boring slow days would be broken up by fights. They even had an area and rules to go with it to avoid going to far. That way the pokemon could get it out of their system without causing bad feelings. At least tht was the idea. No system was perfect of course. Backing up out to a distance where the two could do their thing without Isabella getting in the way, she felt herself bump into something. Surprised, she turned her body to see what it was.

Brian smiled when he heard the flying type's response to him accepting her challenge. She seemed just as excited as ye was, if not more, which only raised his excitement to even higher levels. The best kinds of battles were between two Pokemon that were just as passionate about it as the other, and that seemed to be the case here. As the battle stared, Brian saw Arietta dive towards him exceptionally fast. He didn't do anything for a moment but once she got close to him, he immediately jumped up into the air to avoid the diving attack.

"You wanted to see a fire type move right? Well, here you go!" Brian said as he turned around and took a deep breath before shooting out a flurry of Ember at the bird Pokemon.

Turning swiftly to angle towards the leaping Chimchar, Arietta began to spin as she flew towards him. She used her speed and the wind force generated by her spinning to dispel the ember around herself, effectively dodging the move rather than it scoring a direct hit. Using this moment to her advantage, Arietta then used Tackle, intending to score a hit of her own as she continued to fly towards Brian.
"I'm not gonna lie that was super awesome!" she grinned as she flew, not yet showing any sign of tiring despite the high speeds at which she seemed to fly, "But you'll have to do better if you're gonna catch me!"

Isabella smiled and picked up the Quick Seed and Apple, storing them in her bag. The young budding merchant was hoping that she could end up filling her bag at the end of this. The more stock she discovered, the more profit she would get in the end. The more money she got, the better protection she could afford when going to really dangerous places for even more valuable or more desired items. This was her start and it was off pretty good for her.

Then the Linoone dived at her. Apparently SOMEONE HAD TO ROLL AN EVOLVED POKEMON FOR A LEVEL FIVE DARUMAKA TO FACE YOU ABSOLUTE NUGGET! Isabella let out a yell and popped her hands and feet to her body, rolling backwards to avoid the attacking pokemon. She rolled right betweent he other two and stopped a bit farther. "Ah reckon we haf some trouble!"
