What A Reef! - Page 2 Empty
PostSubject: What A Reef!   What A Reef! - Page 2 EmptyFri May 16, 2014 1:49 am

First topic message reminder :

There wasn't anything quite like a gorgeous, wonderful day beneath the rippling waters of the ocean. As a water-type, Tom felt quite at home in his natural element, and was enjoying his time off from rigid exploration and assisting others within the guild. The waves above him, shimmering and glistening like stars in the sky, refracted the light from the heavens and presented them proudly to the world beneath the churning, frothing waters. Below, a bustling community sprawled out in a bouquet arrangement of undersea vegetation of various colors, stretching its limbs out as far as it could possibly reached. This location was bursting with life and variety, and the Coral Forest seemed to understand this honor that it had been blessed. It flourished, thrived, and was fruitful.

The Totodile, treading water at the surface some distance away from the explosion of diversity, had his head poking out into the chilled air of sunset. It was always a magical experience to watch the sun set at sea, and glorious to watch far off Wailords and their offspring breach and spew water from their blowholes. He would plunge into the depths once more, but for now he was quite content simply observing the world revolving around him.

The skrelp was surprised as the agile crocodile pokemon slipped past the spikes, its surprise quickly changed to pain as the totodile's jaws snapped onto its snout like mouth that was its main method of attacking. The kelp pokemon flailed as it attempted to free itself, the flailing knocking into spikes and pushing them away from the two by luck.

Proteus watched as soon enough spikes were pushed aside from the flail that he would be able to enter the fight and help his friend. The large red beast of the deep circled around towards the Skrelp's back, it seemed to be frightened of the Totodile now, he figured that it would probably try to retreat for a moment to set up a new trap of poisonous darts as soon as it managed to free itself from Tom. If it attempted that, then Proteus would be right there to finish the Skrelp with either a bite or slap of a fin and send the antagonist back to the bottom of the sea for trying to harm Tom, who had done nothing wrong.

With his jaws firmly clamped down upon the seahorse-like Pokemon's proboscis, he couldn't help but allow his hands to clasp either side of his adversary; one would clasp the very end of the Skrelp's nozzle while the other would grab onto the crest and protrusion that sprouted from its skull. He was half tempted to tear into the flesh and meat of the creature like a dog toying with a chew toy, but opted not to damage this opponent too severely. Undoubtedly there would be a build up thanks to the blockade should it try to exhale attacks while clamped up like this; however, Tom hoped this foe would not be too incredibly moronic to do that. As it stood, the pressure was enough to make any fear great retaliation, and, upon seeing his newly acquired friend slither through the water towards them to enter the fray, the Totodile would react accordingly.

Mustering his strength, a mighty growl would rumble in his throat as he began to pivot in the water in preparation to fling his catch to his companion. It would not be unlike a Seismic Toss in its execution, but lacked the punch and damage that usually came with it. Upon reaching maximum velocity, the Totodile would release his opponent's mouth extension so that it might be flung towards Proteus. Tom knew that it would be an opening, and would thus dart backwards quickly as he hoped the Gyarados would attack, leaving a quivering trail of bubbles in his wake.

Proteus surveyed the totadile as his movements became different, and Tom flung the skrelp towards him. The red beast gave a roar his kind was known for and twisted his body so that the skrelp would meet his mighty tail. The skrelp screeched as the large fin slammed into it and sent it to the bottom of the ocean, back to where it had come from. The atrocious pokemon looked down to the skrelp, watching it shakily swim its way back up from the ground, seeming to shake some dizziness out of its skull. Its looked up at them, having been struck so hard it was beginning to see doubles of the opponents. It gave a screech, actually believing there to be two Gyarados and two Totodile, and quickly fled, running into things as it went out of sight.

What A Reef! - Page 2 Empty
PostSubject: Re: What A Reef!   What A Reef! - Page 2 EmptyMon Jul 14, 2014 9:15 am

There was something so wonderfully magical and refreshing about working with another creature to bring down a common enemy. Although not initially unified by the desire to bring about the Skrelp's defeat, Tom felt more closely in sync with the Gyarados that snaked and slithered through the water with fluid and graceful movements. He was mystified by how each segment of the giant fish's body clinked and slunk in perfect unison and with meaning, and marveled at how the sea serpent moved despite its ferocious and snarling appearance. As the Skrelp fled into the depths, the Totodile couldn't help but perform a happy dance beneath the rolling, licking waves of the ocean. His movements involved sporadic flailing of his arms and legs, but it seemed coordinated enough to pass for some sort of ritualistic maneuver.

"Oh boy!" Tom would exclaim. "I just can't help it! I need to celebrate somehow!"

Proteus looked back to the other water type as he began to flail about in the water and exclaim with excitement that he needed to celebrate. His large body trailing behind his massive head in a wave pattern. He couldn't exactly dance himself, having the lack of limbs and possibility of hitting the totodile, but he could smile, "A little happy aren't you?" he asked. He had figured that Tom was happy for defeating the bully of a skrelp. He would have wondered why the pokemon were always so scared of him, but he knew the exact answer.

"Sure am!" the Totodile replied, his movements become more and more sporadic as each fluid gesture swayed into the next. It always gave him great pleasure to be able to express himself in some way, particularly when his sentiment was that of joy or euphoria. He felt that it was in everyone's best interest that he show how glad he was that something occurred, just so that others might feel the urge to party as well. Happiness, in his honest opinion, was a contagious bug one wanted to catch. Tom would stop his vigorous movements momentarily as he looked towards his Gyarados companion, and attempted to shed some light upon the reason he desired to celebrate such a trivial thing. "In this world," he began, "there just aren't enough happy moments. You've got to cherish and treasure the ones you get."

He analyzed his larger compatriot, and would stop moving altogether. It had come to his attention that it might be an arduous task to celebrate for this giant fish, and thus Tom would take it upon himself to show him. He darted forward, his hand momentarily grabbing a fin as he tugged gently upon it and pointed down towards the bustling reef below. "C'mon!" he coaxed, relinquishing his hold and beginning to swim to the depths, "We should explore! I hear there's an awesome treasure down here, and they're like little golden seeds. It's said they bring joy to whomever finds them, and I have someone who would really like that!"

The totodile tugged at the gyarados's large fin, the strength of the totodile wasn't enough to pull the gyarados even if it had wanted to, but Proteus went along with the tugging. His new found friend wanted to explore it seemed, so why not spend some time relaxing and adventuring like he had wanted back in his oblivious and ignorance that was his days as a magikarp. The large beast smiled and spoke, "Sure, I don't see why we shouldn't, I doubt anything would attack us too soon after our display here, so it should be safe!"
