The Princess's Acquaintance

The day was young as the tyrunt returned from the waterfall, having left the Pawniard as she began her journey back home. She had not seen any significance in the loud and roaring waterfall, and was a bit irritated that she had come all this way for nothing.

The princess's amulet reflected the light of the few rays that made it through the canopy of leaves as she traversed the forest. She did not may much attention to where she was going, and had regretted it as she had gotten herself lost.

Victoria gave a huff as she came to a halt, she had a kingdom to build, and yet she was lost in this forest of darkness and dangers. She looked about, hoping to find something that could make her feel more optimistic about this situation. She could spend this time trying to recruit more to help her build her kingdom...yes...that's it! She would use this time to search for others and continue to build up citizens, peasants, knights, and other pokemon of all kinds to live in her kingdom in Blackspear. They would need to help her build shelters for others and other places of great importance though.

The optimistic ideas slowly began to fade into nothingness as she wandered on aimlessly, turning occasionally when she found something of interest, or at least thought she found something of interest. It always turned out to be junk and rocks though, causing hope for some kind of profit on this trip to dwindle.

"Oh, so the Princess can Show humility" Shara chuckled "you really are rather interesting. Don't mistake my care free attitude with disrespect. Because I respect people in different ways."

Shara flew up to a perch in the trees to rest. She re-ajusted her goggles and looked down at the strange princess. Shara wanted to know what led a princess so far away from her kingdom. what tales could she tell?

Shara could dream of what spectacular adventures a princess could have. Was she out here on a quest to rescue a prince mayhaps? to face a legendary and make it kneel before her? Was she evicted? heh that would be funny. shara continued to fantasize, staring off into space.

Victoria stretched her legs as the feeling came back to them. She released her blue necklace to let it hang from her neck once more. The sapphire glinted as it struck a sunbeam for a moment before the tyrunt turned to the pidgey to see it was resting.

"Well, as I said before, join if you like, I don't really mind so long as I get back to Black Spear at some point within the next week or so unless something productive happens," the princess spoke, starting on her way through the forest. She still felt irritated towards the pidgey for its behavior, but she guessed she would just have to put up with it if the bird decided to follow her.

The tyrunt did not find point in resting, mostly because she did next to nothing for the battle, having been too paralyzed to do nothing but a wasted Ice Fang.

"Oh boo, And here I thought we were having a moment" Shara pouted. "Come on, stop playing the strong silent type! I wanna hear about you! Do you have any hobbies? do you dream of having longer arms? Any allergies? You can walk and talk you know, it Isn't that hard."

Shara frowned. She was really interested in this Tyrunt, But nothing she seemed to do would get the princess to talk. She tried impressing her, a heartfelt moment, now what? Was she going to have to beg and plead for her to brag?

Shara shot forth a few trees down the line as The dino princess walked. She had half a mind to perch on her big head.

"Not that I know of, no, not that I know of, and yeah I know I have the perfect capability to do that," Victoria answered the questions in the same order the pidgey had asked her. The tyrunt did not exactly understand what this pidgey wanted from her anyways. The barrage of questions only confused her to the pidgey's motives, so she decided to ask her own instead, "Now that i've answered your questions, what do you want from me? Surely you're not asking these questions for the heck of it. If you are you must be pretty bored or something."

"Nah, I just want to hear about you. c'mon, you're a Princess. You have to be doing some interesting things!" Shara exclaimed.

Shara was annoyed. The princess obviously wasn't a people person. but It didn't bother her too much. She could just wait and see what happens. It wasn't like shara couldn't entertain herself. Long flights often required something for the mind to work on.

"Well...I AM trying to create my own Kingdom...it's been going at a slow pace, but that's what kingdoms are supposed to do. I have my land, and now I need subjects and peasants to inhabit it along with help me construct the homes for the peasants and I. We also need to drive out the mean pokemon so they wont bother us at all."

The tyrunt spoke at last, explaining her needs and current status in her present task. The tyrunt's chain clinked as the amulet swung like a pendulum of a grandfather clock as she walked, the light striking the sapphire every now and then and flashing into the distance, the tyrunt did not seem to mind this at all and did not think the light might be a beacon to any feral or outlaws that might want to attack her.

"That is interesting. I do have to say, the word peasant has a definite negative connotation, maybe you should use the word citizen? I mean Personally I'm not going to sign up to be a Peasant." Shara suggested, gesturing to herself with a wing. "You also have to compete with the towns around here, after all, as far as I know there aren't even mayors. Loose laws are very appealing. You have a plan?"

Shara was intrigued. Starting a kingdom from scratch eh? That sounded rather ambitious. But it would mean nothing If She didn't have a compelling argument for pokemon to settle there. Would there be any interesting laws or punishments for crimes that would make it more appealing?

Shara thought about all this, as they moved along. The princess walked a lonely road. The path ahead was unsure. Wait actually the path was getting rather small. the literal path. The forest seemed to thicken up a bit. Shara had a bad feeling about this.

"Then you be a subject if you don't want to be a peasant," the tyrunt countered the suggestion. The tyrunt listened to the pidgey speak before speaking herself. The bird seemed to ask how she would make her place seem better than the towns, she found this claim to be rather redundant, "Isn't it obvious?" she spoke, "Protection. Once I get some knights to serve under me, they'll protect the subjects and peasants from any outside forces. Once you join the kingdom, you work for the kingdom. In order to be protected you must contribute whether it be scouting, fighting, or keeping peace in the kingdom. If that piece is disturbed then, depending on the degree of damage they have done, then they will either be punished, banished, or put to death. That's the way a kingdom works, is it not?"

"Ah ok then, Semantics. But who Says you have to make a kingdom by the traditional rules? Seems to me you aren't a princess anymore, not even a queen. You're a Founder. I'm not saying There is anything wrong with a Kingdom, But You are starting from scratch. Maybe It's time to take a look at how you structure your society. I've Seen a lot of Places under a lot of different Governments. Just something to think about." Shara said.

She spotted something red off in a bush and zipped over to it. she burst out of the bush with a cheri berry in her talons. Slightly disappointing. Shara would have prefered a ruby or something. ah well, she didn't have a bag anyway.

"Yo Princess, You want this Berry?" Shara asked balancing on one foot.

The princess merely snorted at the pidgey's words of apparent wisdom, she was a princess! She was going to be queen once her kingdom was up and running, a queen is not a mere founder but...well a queen. This pidgey obviously had no idea what she was talking about, so the tyrunt decided to just ignore the nuisance rather than try to explain to her what to do.

The pidgey seemed to fly away for a bit, and caused the tyrunt to believe she was leaving and making her surprised when the pidgey came back with a mere berry, "Could have used that earlier..." the tyrunt huffed when she recognized it to be a Cheri Berry, "Don't care, if you don't want it I may as well take it. So unless you don't want it I'll take it."

Shara rolled her eyes. Stubborn people. She got what was coming to her for talking politics, she supposed. It didn't matter much. Shara tossed the berry to the Tyrunt before swinging down on the branch, hanging upside down like a zubat.

"Well I'll still be interested to see your progress, I just hope you don't set up any no fly zones. Tell me princess, do you believe all pokemon are born equal?" Shara asked. It was time to see what this ruler was made of.

"You just never shut up do you? Of course not! I'm more fortunate in my birth where I come from. So there, and in my land, I have a higher stature. In someplace like this, I really don't but I still demand respect none the less because I am still who I am back at the Kingdom."

The tyrunt growled after she spoke, warning the pidgey not to push her. She had continued walking. not even looking at the bird as she continued along. The pidgey just kept asking question after question, and the tyrunt was beginning to believe the pidgey would shoot down her beliefs just as she had with the last one.

"I'm so very sorry I enjoy a good conversation." Shara said sarcasticly, dopping and then gliding forwards. "I really need to rephrase that question. Meh, If you don't want to talk that's fine. I guess I've had all the fun I can get right now. I'll check in on your kindom project sometime. It was nice meeting you, even if I didn't get your name."

Shara flapped her wings, gaining altitude, before hovering to finish talking and wait for a response. This princess was interesting, but she seemed kinda grumpy. Maybe her disposition would change. She wondered what would become of the princess's quest. She would just have to see herself.

Shara noticed the wind picking up above where she hovered, it was blowing towards grassveil. Shara supposed that she was due to hit the town again soon anyhow. She briefly considered her next dye job, maybe a fiery orange. meh. She would decide when she got there.

The tyrunt's growl increased its volume when the pidgey's sarcastic tone reached her ears. She spoke after the pidgey finished talking, "Victoria. You happy now?" The tyrunt did not look to see the pidgey hovering, merely continuing on her way. She half expected the pidgey to call out that her name was something else and snark at how she didn't even know her own name before attempting to give her a new name. Victoria did not take kindly to being told what to do by random strangers, only advisers get a minuscule closer than a peasant or subject to telling a royal what to do in her belief.

Shara smiled. "Yes, I am happy now." She said. "I like your name. It's pretty. See you around Princess Victoria!"

Shara shot up above the canopy. She hovered there for a second. She hadn't exactly made a friend today, but she did meet an interesting pokemon with interesting goals. Letting the wind catch her feathers, shara soared towards town.

Shara hoped that the princess would make a good leader. She was kinda worried about her attitude. It might just have been a hard day or Shara poking fun at her. Either way, She had some issues. Shara wouldn't follow someone like that. Besides, she had her own path to follow.
