Chala's First Mission! Pidgey Plague in Pecha Forest!?

Chala scuttled into the brightly lit Pecha Forest, stopping every now and then to look back at the Pikachu following her. She thought his name was Nathan or something. The Pikachu was surprisingly helpful. After helping Chala simply grab a hold of the mission from the boards, which were a bit too high for her to reach, the Pikachu helped her take the mission and decided to come along and help her complete it, despite being on another team.

He was especially helpful when she almost went into Shadowhue Forest instead of Pecha Forest. She blinked and looked around, "So...where are the Pidgey? The mission said there were a lot, but I don't even see one," she said, looking up at the trees, which seemed to only hold berries.

11/16 Energy.

"Well, I mean it's possible that they're just not out right now. That, or we have to go deeper into the area. Not everything is always at the very beginning." Nate suggested his idea, giving a lighthearted chuckle as he stepped through the forest with Chala, looking around the area. He hadn't known Chala for very long, as a matter of fact, he had just met her at the guild a short time ago. She was having trouble getting the mission paper off of the board, and so the Pikachu decided to lend a helping paw, and even decided to accompany her. After all, Pidgey were something he could deal with.
"So, did you say this was your first mission?" He asked his companion, taking a few steps forward, passing Chala and glancing back at her as he did.

23/28 Energy.

Chala titled her head and groaned a little, "Oh, guess it can't be helped then," she said before Nate asked his question.

"Um...yes. I only joined the guild yesterday," she said looking up at the Pikachu before she started to scuttle deeper into the woods, "So they're deeper in, right? Let's go find them then!" As she scuttled about, going this way and that, she sniffed, and sometimes bit, anything that looked interesting.

Nate nodded his head, following behind Chala as she scuttled off ahead again. "Yeah, just be careful and give a yell if you find something." He called over to her as he searched through a few bushes and watched the treetops, looking for Pidgey. Huh, strange...I wonder why all the Pidgey aren't around? Maybe we've just got some bad luck... The Pikachu thought to himself, starting to get sidetracked in his thoughts. He smiled a little as he watched Chala rush ahead, eager to get to the mission and wondering how happy she was to be able to explore the area. She may be happy, but she should still be careful...

The Pikachu hadn't been having much better luck, turning towards Chala and watching her move right into a tree. He laughed slightly, shaking his head.
"You should be a bit more careful. And no, I haven't found any Pidgey yet. Maybe there just aren't any around-" As Nate spoke, he spotted a shadow on the ground, just overhead. Coming down from the sky, a Pidgey cawed as it flew down, ramming into him and tackling the Pikachu. The yellow mouse let out an 'oomph' as he hit the ground, rolling back onto his paws.
"Found some..." He muttered, looking up at the two Pidgey, one flying overhead in a circle over them and the other looping around after having attacked Nate.

Chala eeped when Nate was suddenly tackled by a Pidgey.

"I-I guess they don't like us," she said looking up at them, "How do we fight something that's that high?"

She groaned a bit. She knew she'd be able to fly herself when she evolved. She had no idea how, but she saw her sister flying around a lot. However, she knew she probably was nowhere near evolving, and even if she was, it wouldn't help with her not knowing how.

"No, they don't really like us." Looking up at the air, Nate thought about how he would tackle the situation, coming up with an idea fairly quickly and with the help of Chala's question.
"Well, we can either use something that will hit them from here, or we can bring them down to us." Sparks began to jump out from his cheeks as he spoke, a somewhat weaker bolt of electricity making its way into the air and towards its mark, one of the two Pidgey. The one that was hit stopped in the air, keeping its wings out to help glide down to the ground but otherwise unable to move them for the time being, as Nate had used a Thunderwave. As the Pidgey landed on the ground near the two, the second one flew down towards Chala, beating its wings and sending gusts of wind towards her, using Gust.

Chala groaned as the winds hit her. She rammed her feet in the ground to keep her from being blown away as she endured the Gust attack. As the gust began to subside, Chala used the pressure she built up in her legs to jump up and snap at the Pidgey with a Bite attack. It was certainly high enough, but the Trapinch didn't quite get the angle right, and missed the Pidgey by a feather, that was now stuck between her jaws.

In the meantime, Nate ran towards the grounded Pidgey, pulling his paw back as it crackled with electricity and punching forward, Thunder Punching the pokemon right in the beak and knocking it back a bit. The other Pidgey looked down at Chala, irritated by the failed bite attack. It tilted downwards, flying towards her for another attempt at a tackle. The grounded Pidgey recovered and hopped towards the Pikachu, aiming to tackle him but failing as he stepped out of its way, dodging the attack.

As the Pidgey swooped down towards her, Chala opened up her mouth wide. In a flash the Pidgey was caught between her jaws as she used a Bite attack. For a moment the Pidgey struggled, squawking and squirming to try and escape the Trapinch's mouth, but it went still when Chala shook her head violently. With another chomp and a swallow, the Pidgey disappeared down the Trapinch's gullet, only a few feathers stuck between the ant Pokemon's teeth. Chala then turned and looked towards Nate and the other Pidgey. She was wondering if she should help, as Nate seemed to be handling himself quite well.

(Yep...that just happened)

The struggling and squawking of the Pidgey got Nate's attention as he turned towards them, watching with wide eyes as Chala swallowed the other pokemon whole, mostly surprised. ...did she-...did that just...wow. Of course he knew that most pokemon were carnivorous, and that some that lived in Grassveil were still like that, he had learned that from his experience growing up with his brother in the forest. He was just surprised that she had actually done so on a mission so, well, easily. The grounded Pidgey watched with an expression of mild horror as the paralysis wore off, and it turned away, flapping its wings and flying off into the woods. The Pikachu turned as it took off and used another Thunder Wave, hitting it with another jolt of electricity and causing the bird pokemon to drop back to the ground, continuing to hop away.
"Nice work Chala. Let's go get the other one before it gets away." Nate called over to her, beginning to run after the Pidgey into the forest.

Chala, hearing Nate's suggestion, began to scuttle towards the Pidgey, her mouth open wide for another meal. It seems Pidgey was a very tasty Pokemon, and with how bottomless Chala could seem, the Pidgey would have to hope that Nate would save it from a similar fate as it's friend. Chala probably wouldn't have been so hungry if she didn't skip breakfast in excitement for her first mission, though that didn't really matter right now, except to the Pidgey.

Nate turned his head as Chala began to speed up, scuttling over with her mouth open. Alright, I guess she's hungry...might as well let her take care of it. It's her mission, anyhow. The Pikachu thought to himself, not exactly wanting to become her next meal. Not that he expected to be, but he still didn't know her all that well. Nate slowed down a bit, deciding to catch his breath and let Chala head on forward. The Pidgey kept hopping away, somewhat slow as the Trapinch was catching up. It couldn't use its wings to fly away or use a Gust attack, so it kept hopping, trying to delay its demise.

As the gap between the Pidgey and the Trapinch closed, Chala jumped up and landed mouth first on the Pidgey, swallowing it with just a few movements of her massive jaws. Licking her lips a bit before spitting out the loose feathers, she scuttled over to Nate.

"So two more, right?" she asked in such an innocent voice, someone who hadn't just seen her do it wouldn't have believed she just ate two Pidgey in cold blood. Well, not really cold blood, more of just hunger.
