» Likes:
-Teamwork and Friendship: Optimistic and idealistic as he is, Morty believes, that any problem can be overcome if you just work together with Pokémon you like. Thus he values teamwork and being friends with his colleagues, believing for them to be essential.
-Adhering to the Law: In the Inkay's opinion, there is no reason not to follow the law, thus he will always follow it, even if doing so would be a hindrance for the mission he is on.
-Gambling: Morty likes the thrill of, as he calls it, “asking Lady Luck for a dance”. Thus he is often found wagering some of his money in games of fortune. But only legal ones of course!
-Coffee and Donuts: He's planning to become a police officer. It's a job requirement.
» Dislikes:
-Breaking the law: Obviously a Pokémon, who has “Adhering to the Law” as one of their likes would not be a fan of breaking it. Morty can not understand, why anyone would do illegal things and harbors a dislike towards them.
-Fighting: Stemming from his baseless optimism is the belief, that any problem or conflict can be solved nonviolently, simply using diplomatic reasoning. Thus Morty views fighting and battles in general as unreasonable and shies away from them.
» Personality:
Morty is a Pokémon, who believes in the good in others, the world and the law. Should he encounter a troublesome situation, he will remain optimistic and idealistically try to resolve the problem nonviolently. The Inkay is always looking for new friends, trusting pretty much anymon instantly. Morty is generous and almost always willing to give the benefit of the doubt. He treats his friends and others with respect, trying to make the world a better place with his actions. However, this also leads to him being cheerfully oblivious to many of the evils lurking in the world and especially the hearts of mon. But even though he may be gullible, he is a rather intelligent cephalopod otherwise, having quite some knowledge regarding the sciences in particular.
» History:
Born to a Malamar mother and a Dragalgae father, Morty grew up to have a very sheltered childhood, rarely doing anything other than studying or socializing with those Pokémon his overbearing parents deemed to be “acceptable” and a “good influence”. Thus the Inkay had never really come to know evil and things of similar nature until he left home to live on his own.
However, the evils he found, shocked him enough to instantly have him choose to join the police force to help the Pokémon suffering from outlaws and to get the outlaws to forsake their evil ways.
But as he sadly was rejected from the police force for being too young and not being strong enough, the Inkay decided to wander the lands and train until he would be ready to take on the burden of making the world a better place.
