Manehatten Mayhem!

A young stallion made his way down the street nearby his house, having just sneaked out. His parents were rather paranoid when it came to him wandering about, being still just a small foal. His brown fur somewhat blended with the darkness of the night, but was still quite visible. His bare flank held no cutie mark, but did hold the marking of an appaloosa with dark red marks that seemed as if it were splattered on a canvas. His muzzle also held the same markings, but were more full and blended into the darkness of his fur.

This foal, was Zealous Oath. A foal that thirsted for adventure and longed for new sites to see! He had barely left his house since he was born, while his brother was able to go anywhere he liked. It was unfair in Zealous's eyes, why did HE have to be confined and his brother was free? He was nice and his brother was a jerk, since the brother did nothing but torment the foal whenever he liked.

Zeal pushed the thoughts out of his mind, he was outside now. He was free to do as he pleased, he would just have to not attract attention. He blinked when he noticed a light in the sky, dawn was coming. Celestia's sun was creeping up the sky while Luna's moon bowed down behind the horizon to make room. He shivered at the cold, but remained vigilant. The town would grow busy once more, and he would be able to meet more ponies, make friends, and go on an adventure of the life time perhaps!

All though it was her usual day. It seemed like a normal day for her. Normal? What is that even a word to her? Everyday never felt normal. It wasn't an exception, but the truth. It was a sunny day as she woke. A clam and cool day in the ever busy Manehattan. The urban metropolis was in full swing after seven am. Possessed exited her home for her daily walk. A good walk never seemed to hurt anyone. Her beige colored fur to her black mane seemed to match perfectly with her bright blue bow around her neck. The Scythian donkey enjoying her walk. No taller then a normal pony mare with her long tail with her fluffly tip swaying happily. 

The jenny's messy black mane flowed freely as she looked around. Possessed went straight to the neighborhood park. Planning on smiling some pines and getting some ice cream. She smiled  to herself as she walked down the trail of the tamed forest. Her fluffly fur around her neck and back helping to keep her warm. Her over sized bright blue bow hanged down slightly, allowing some of her fluffy fur to protrude on to the only accessory she has. Possessed smiled to herself and yet out a calming sigh. "Looks like today is gonn' be a good day!" The jenny told herself as she looked up to the rising sun.

Zealous Oath trotted along the street, not remembering where his house was not caring about where is house was. There was just so many sights to see! There was an apple salespony traversing the crowd in search of customers. A group of younger ponies weaving through the legs of the taller ponies as they played and rushed to get elsewhere. There was even a...what is that place? Zealous grew closer to the strange sudden landscape of greenery, noticing a sign that read "Horseshoe Park" as he neared it. He had heard of his parents speak of this park before, but had never actually gone to it!

Excitement overwhelmed the young foal as he leaped forward, accidentally bumping into a few stallions and mares that were going about their daily business who scowled in his direction as he neared his target. The foal stopped at the edge, the trees were beautiful! Well, they looked exactly like the trees that stood outside his own house, but somehow being in a new place made them look less dull and so far away as he would look from the windows. He often saw his brother and his friends meet under a specific tree across the street from their house. From there, his brother would head off to the left, the direction this young foal had gone as well, and off to who knows where!

Was this the place his brother saw everyday? Why was his parents keeping him from this? Were they afraid that the outside influences would make him out to be a trouble maker like his brother was? Questions Raced through Zeal's head, but no answers came of it. He instead shook his head, his unicorn horn knocking into the sign and poking a hole in it. He flinched, looking around quickly and running away, not seeing the jenny in front of him as he fled as if Nightmare Moon was on his tail.

//Yush. I be much.//

Possessed blinked at the foal. She would use her magic to stop him. If her magic weren't used in that way! She didn't want to do a useless healing spell on him. She looked at the foal and jumped out of the way! Using her quick wit the jenny bit him by the tail and pulled him down. Possessed sighed, she was a loner for a reason. The mare quickly remembering her childhood, out in the San Palomino desert. She lowered her head in remembrance of the town of Blackhoof, a town no one but her will ever know of. The jenny took in her sadness and looked at the foal.

"Where are your parents, child?" She asked in a concerned tone of voice. "Do you realize that there are bad ponies aroun' here if you go by yourself?" She added on in her normal western tone of voice. A charming yet mysterious tone to her pitch. A slight 'ye-aw' like a donkey could be heard if listened to closely. The jenny walked in front of the foal and then lowered her head his level. Her tall donkey ears perked up as her expression turned serious, which was hard to tell from her dimples and over all cute look with her blue bow. "What are you doin' here?"

Zeal's ears fell to the side of his head, why was this adult asking him so many questions? Did she know he sneaked out!? Does she know he wasn't supposed to leave the house!? He kept a calm front despite being terrified and spoke, "Oh, Sorry about that! I was just running around, getting some exercise since my parents said I needed it!"
Lies. He hated lying, but it was necessary. He wanted to stay and not get in trouble! Was going to the park really such a bad thing? The foal smiled as if everything was okay. Was it too genuine though? Was it over-exaggerated? Over the top? Was the jenny going to believe him!?

Lapis Lament was roaming the streets of Manehatten, trying to sell her wares. She'd managed to find some diamonds and had crafted them into the finest necklaces she could, which granted, were very fine. The light blue mare had no luck however, and was so sure that she'd get heaps of cash here, that she'd given most the money she had to her sick mother at home in Ponyville. Her stomach grumbled ravenously, she needed to find a sale, and quick, or she'd be milling around long into the night out of sheer stubbornness.
She saw a donkey reprimanding a small foal. She had a tousled black mane and a big blue bow.
"You get the oddest characters in big cities" she muttered. But, maybe, just maybe, she would like to buy something. So she walked up, put on her biggest smile, brushed back her long, golden mane and said:
"Hello, I'm Lapis Lament. Would you like to buy some necklaces?"
