It was quite the peaceful day in Pecha Forest, no trouble of any sort going on as far as anyone could tell. Need, just got past Shadowhue Forest, was walking down the main path. He could have reach Grassveil by going directly west, but this detour allowed him to not run into any of his clan. The only concession was more travel time which was fine with Ned. It was a great day for walking. Sunny, not a cloud in the sky. Ned felt like he didn't have to worry about being caught by his family. They'd give up on catching him eventually anyway if he was lost long enough.

Starfire was walking through the forest, enjoying the day. It sure is a beautiful day. The sun is shining, the Bird Pokemon are singing. she thought. The Vulpix started humming a random song. Closing her eyes she let her imagination take her away. Not seeing a Nincada in front of her she tripped over him and rolled into a tree. "OW! Man, maybe I should tape my eyes open." she complained to herself.

To be fair, Ned had been focused on nature and didn't move out of the way of the foxy pokemon. He looked over and recognized her species from his hard studies. Vulpix, a fire type. Don't touch the tails or risk a nasty burn. They take pride in their appearance. Ned wasn't the most comfortable around fire types, but he pushed that down to try to act friendly. "Um, sorry for getting in your way. I was too focused on the scenery and wasn't looking around myself. Are you okay?"

Sitting up right and shaking off the dust, Starfire looked at the bug type. "It's fine, I'm all good. I should of been looking where I was going. It really is a beautiful day. My name's Starfire, but almost everyone calls me "Star" for short. Which isn't a lot of Pokemon, except for a few close friends. Oh, I'm sorry. Here I am rambling, are you ok? What's your name?" Starfire said with a giggle. Normally she didn't talk too much but she like to be friendly and she loved meeting new Pokemon. She noticed the Pokemon's uneasiness, maybe that was why she was talking so much.

Ned smiled, letting the vulpix talk as much as she wanted without any interruption. When given the opportunity, he gave his own name. "I go by Ned, pretty much what I like people to call me." Not his birth name, but he hadn't lied truly. "It is a nice day, isn't it? I was just heading up to Grassveil Town. I wanted to join the guild there. They seemed like good pokemon to me and I wanna be one of them."

The Vupix's tails started to wag back and forth. "It's nice to meet you Ned. I live in Grassveil Town. I could show you around if you like. What do you mean by, "I wanna be one of them"?" she asked as she started walking. She had never met a Nincada before, it made her wounder. How do they evolve? Do they be come two separate Pokemon with two different minds? Or would it be like two bodies with one mind? thinking about this stuff made her slightly dizzy.

"One of the guild members of course! They help pokemon who call out for help, no matter where, when, or what the trouble is. They use honor in their tasks and don't resort to breaking the law to do their jobs. Its like the police are pretty much not needed... well except for locking up and disciplining the bad guys." Ned was surprised a wild pokemon hadn't attacked them yet. Perhaps there were no territorial pokemon in this forest?

Starfire shook her head and listened to the Nincada. "That's a good way to put it. I just want to see the happy faces of the Pokemon when the mission's done. Even though you get an award, it's just enough to know that the job is completed and you know that you tried your best while doing so." Starfire said as she started walking again. this was her reason for wanting to join the guild,

| Ned just couldn't shake the feeling that something was coming. That a pokemon was gonna jump out and attack them. Then he noticed it. Every time they weren't looking, there was the very slight sound of footsteps, something following them. Every time it moved, the thing got closer and closer. Why had it taken so long for him to notice. Suddenly the pokemon jumped out, aiming to attack them. Ned responded by jumping up and sending a Silver Wind attack from is forearms. He was in serious battle mode. - This dice is not existing.

The Deerling jumped out of the way of the attack. Hearing a small boom, Starfire turned her head. "There's something you don't see everyday." she said to herself. With a glance at the Nincada, she realized that he had attacked the Pokemon. Taking her Battle stance Starfire used Extrasenccory on the deer like Pokemon. Not expecting the attack the grass type was sent back by the dark purple wave.

While the pokemon was fazed by the psychic attack, Ned decided to take his opening. He lept forward with mouth open. He was planning to unleash a Leech Life. He was a bit tired from the trip sneaking through Shadowhue, so the healing he'd get would help. With his Compound Eyes ability, he was sure to hit and start sucking away at the enemy.
