Character Records Guide

Hello! Thank you for taking the time to read the Guide. This will indicate the requirements, and suggestions that you may need when creating your records.

Frequently Asked Questions:

» What are Character Records for?

Character Records hold your characters' information and progress. This will allow your partners and staff to be able to see how far your characters have gone, along with the threads they have partaken in, their levels and previously known moves, and even their inventory. The creation of your records is a requirement, unless you wish to have some complications.

» Do I have to go by the template?

Not entirely, no. You have the utter free will to design your records to your liking, but do bear in mind that you need to abide the requirements and keep everything as understandable as possible. Do not miss the required fields.

» Do I have to frequently update it?

No, you don't. Though it is preferable that you keep your records as up-to-date as possible to avoid confusion, especially when you are partaking in activities that require other people to know your character's progress. (e.g. Planning for an RP, doing a trade, adopting a character, etc.)

For further questions or concerns, feel free to contact @Coaster3000 or any of the other staff.

Requirements and Reminders

1.) You must list the basic character fields such as name, species, affiliations, level, base energy and moveset. These can be retrieved from your bio if you've just newly created or adopted your character.

2.) You must include Inventory and Topic List. You need 15 Posts to call a page completed. Only completed pages can count to your level. (Extra reminder: You need 5 completed pages per level, 3 if you have a Joy Ribbon)

3.) Remember to update your records accordingly. If your pokemon has used an item, remove it from your records. If they've reached a level where they learn a new move, either add it or put it under the forgotten field. You simply have to check if your pokemon has leveled up, acquired how many pages, how many items, and so on so forth.

4.) Avoid faking items, pages, or any of your information. This is a very intolerable act of cheating, and will result to a warning if caught. Please act fairly, it is expected that you're aware of how the system works around here. There is no way your pokemon could be level 50 if you only have 2 pages.

5.) You can only have ONE thread dedicated to holding  the information of ALL your characters.

6.) You can only have 5 Active RP Threads per character. This is to avoid cluttering the forum with unfinished threads. You can however purchase extra thread slots for 1000 poke each. To do so, contact an admin by posting in the admin request thread.

7.) Remember to give links to your threads, even inactive or locked ones, this makes it easier on everyone, especially staff, to check your records and check your latest thread.

8.) All characters start with a normal bag upon creation. A normal bag can hold up to 10 items. An exploration bag can hold up to 15 items. Does this mean characters can only hold this many items at a time? No, it means characters can have this many items in a thread at most. It is best to keep track of the items you find and use.

Additional information
These are all things that you do not have to put in your records, but you can if you want to.

1) Relationships with other characters. This helps to keep track of all the characters you have met and how your character feels towards that other character.

2) Likes, dislikes, fears, personality,... I would recommend this if your character has changed a lot compared to the original bio, but if they haven't, you don't have to do this at all.

3) If your character has any medical conditions that should be paid attention to, you could mention that in your records.

4) A moves to learn section could be useful if you don't want to bother looking up if your character learns a new move each time it levels up.

5) A summary of what happened in your threads or something similar.

6) The base energy of the character species. If you end up miscounting somewhere, your total energy could end up being incorrect. This will help to keep track of your energy.

7) If there is anything else you would like to add, you could do so. They are your records after all. Just keep in mind to not break any rules.

Organization tips
Here are some tips to organize your records and make them look nicer and/or make it easier to track or find things.

1) Make separate sections for ongoing threads and locked threads. It could be a lot of work to search for an old, active thread between a decent amount of locked ones.

2) Divide your inventory into sections. How you do that is up to you. You could for example make sections for restoring items, evolution items, orbs, bands and scarves,... Whatever makes it easy for you.

3) Hate scrolling? You can use spoilers. Hate spoilers? Put everything nicely underneath each other. If you know any html, you could try to use that too.

4) Instead of just putting the link of threads next to the name, you could make the name of the thread into a link. The code for this is name of thread It might also be a good idea to put the number of pages of each thread next to the name/link. This helps to keep track of total pages.

5) Keep track of what type of pages you're giving your character. This means keeping track of what pages your character received while under the effects of certain items like Joy Ribbons or an Exclusive Item that reduces the number needed for level up. Remember that these items don't take effect until after your next level up when you put them on and begin immediately when you put it on a character with no threads yet.
