Dancing With Dragons

In a serene and gorgeous jungle outside of human discovery, dragons live. They are not magical, "elemental creatures". No, they are large and sophisticated creatures with only the ability to breath fire due to stone grinding mechanisms in their throat and esophagus. Though they haven't managed to come together or join into 'groups', they are much smarter than humans. No, these dragons are not the barbarous, savage creatures of story-books. They are beginning to pick up a bit of the vicious and war-like manners of the humans, however. Will their land stay peaceful much longer?

Not much is known about Spectrum, and the rainbow-shaded dragoness is very mysterious and dark, despite her bright coloring.

Whispy is energetic and bouncy, so much that it can become a bit annoying sometimes. But she always means well, and is very sweet. She always likes to look on the bright side.

Personality: Brave and loyal, he is very trusting of people. He is strong and smart, he is very resourceful. He never backs down, no matter what.

Personality: Edurad is brave to the point of recklessness at times and always willing to defend someone from harm. He tries to be friendly but may sometimes come off as awkward at times. He is a bit stronger then he is smart, and tends not to plan things through.

The rainbow-shaded dragoness glided down into the brush just beyond a doe. Licking her viper-like fangs, Spectrum inches, ever so catiously, foreward. She took one last step and decided that she had closed in enough. The colorful dragoness wasn't good at blending in with such luminent scales, so she wasn't able to get very close. She would have to make a dive for the doe. Shifting her stance carefully, Spectrum slightly unfolded her wings and took an impressive leap into the air, then she spiralled toward the deer. Landing atop it's back, the dragoness dug her fangs into its neck and it twisted and struggled in protest. Finally it gave in, and Spectrum killed it quickly by snapping the neck in the knot shape she had been told was the quickest and most painless. The rainbow-shaded dragon dug into her meal.

Edurad has been flying above the same area, looking for something for himself. As he continued, he noticed the same doe as a certain other dragoness he had yet to see nearby. He had been sticking to the sky and planning on diving for it, beginning to descend at a faster pace. As he did so the dragoness had leaped up and already landed, killing the doe before he could arrive. He suddenly realized that he was heading downwards too fast to stop or head back up, and instead swerved a small distance away from Spectrum. He started to slowly flap his wings in order to at least slow his landing, still creating a slight thud sound as he hit the ground. He immediately looked over at the colorful dragoness, unsure what to do. He decided to just take a few steps away to try and show he wasn't a threat, still looking at her calmly.

Spectrum's eyes had an acidic touch to them as she narrowed them on the dragon whom had just landed only a ways away from her. She would ask who he was, but her piercing orange gaze said it all. She tilted her head as she advanvced toward him, expectantly glaring at him for an answer.

Saphiro crawled through the underbrush, looking for a small snack before learning how to fly. He gobbled up a small rodent, and kept crawling. Soon he came across a standoff, two dragons were staring each other down. 'I hope...I hope they won't start fighting...' Saphiro puffed out blue smoke is surprise, and hid under a bush. He waited for them to make a move, staying out of curiosity.

Edurad stood his ground and watched the dragoness advancing towards him, watching her and starting to glare as well. "I am not after your food, nor am I looking for a fight. You can calm yourself down." He told her, keeping himself ready just in case she actually attacked him. "Well, I was after that specific doe, but you were faster. I wouldn't bother stealing it from you." He added, thinking about it more.

"Calm myself down? Who said I was upset?" Were the first words out of Spectrum's slender snout. "It doesn't hurt to be cautious, does it? And to be cautious, you need to have hostility." The dragoness was now staring intently and curiously into the fellow dragon's eyes. "You don't seem too bad a guy, though." Spectrum had a hint of a smile on her snout as she passed the half-eaten deer to him. "I don't need any more, I'm done. You can take it or leave it. By the way, what's your name?" The dragoness's radiant scales glittered impressively as she shifted into a shaft of sunlight.

"To be cautious, no, but being overly cautious can be a hazard these days. Plus, we should not be too quick to be hostile to potential allies with recent events." The dragon looked at the deer and decided to take the dragoness up on her offer, starting to make short work of what was left. "Thank you. My name is Edu, what of yours?" He responded and asked, not telling his full name because despite his talk he was still slightly untrusting of Spectrum.

Once Saphiro was completely sure that a fight was going to break out, he sighed, probably a bit louder than he should have. He looked at the other side of the clearing, his hiding hole was a short walk if he could just make it across this clearing without being noticed. He took a deep breath and leaped out of the bushes, making a mad dash for the other side of the clearing, but it seemed so far out of his reach.
